@God Love He definitely knew enough about music to lead me to believe that he was taught some things. However, his unorthodox style, using his thumb to play the low string, and many other techniques were most certainly self taught as no guitar teacher would have taught him to play this way.

Nice playing, definitely not Hendrix though. More of a modern (80's,90's) type of style blues with some Dorian scales thrown in.
