My favorite solo artist, hands down. I'm always timid with new albums, but this song blew me away from the instant I heard it. After a few listens I actually thought the entire album could be my favorite of his. I've seen him a couple of times, including this tour. So soon after 9/11--it was a mix of emotions that I've never had at a concert--morose, hesitantly triumphant. It was so cathartic.. Thank you, Bruce.
yeah brother . i think its actually my favourite album constantly on repeat i must have my neighbors heads done in haaha . a lesser known track CHERRY DARLING is by far my party song man ... doesnt matter what day of the week .
Song writers like Bruce Springsteen are so rare. Hes such a great entertainer and a isnt afraid to right songs about what he truly thinks and believes.
I love this song, and especially this acoustic version. Bruce projects so much emotion. I get goose pimples on the back of my neck. When I first visited the empty Lot where the Twin Towers stood, the events of 911 became truly real for me, not just something on TV.... Angels carried everyone of those people to Heaven that day.
Everything has to be considered. None of us are guiltless. The world is a messy place. Full of thoughts and problems. And death. Our world is struggling to find a way. I wish us the best.
He has a very similar,if not the same guitar,in "The ties that bind," a documentary about the making of the river, made a couple of years ago.I think it:'s some sort of Gibson J200.But I,ve never seen that wood on one, before, anyone know what it would be?
@@chriscianciolo5823 Chris, it wasn't a glib response.I was curious. Of course, he showed an interest in guitars. I played my first one in 1962. it was my attempt, in a simple way, of drawing him out. He didn't respond, but you did. Thanks?
@ofthecosmos I don't thin Springsteen can make a bad album. I loved the Magic album and although Working on a Dream wasn't as good, it was still a great album, songs like the Queen of the Supermarket and Outlaw Pete were just plain awesomeness.
this one of my most listened to Bruce tracks ...he is such an inspiration ... love u man all the way over here in Dublin , Ireland ...

This is Bruce really at his best! He is just one of the finest song writers on this planet!
I must say that that Gibson jumbo sounds like a million bucks along with his beautiful lyrics and voice. Quite a package for us all to enjoy.

This is why he is known as "THE BOSS".

Is it filmed in side his own house or do you know where. Love the song and he really get the filing in it in this version.

Why is that important to you, matt? Just wondering.
@@JJJZANESVILLE2 - Maybe he’s just interested in guitars??

I would also like to hear Neil Young perform this song.
the album is called the rising. you should get
I wonder what tuning is that...it doesn't sound like standard...perhaps Drop D tuning.
I'm not sure
Its double drop D with capo 3 = key of F
Tinha tudo pra ser uma música pop genial, e ele canta ela desse jeito, é deprimente... de boa...
The chords he is playing are really interesting.
Timmerfrans brought me here
what is the chord´s on this sonng?..have seen "D" "EM" "C", but it dosnt feel right.
robert nylen try Drop D, capo 2nd fret and fumble on... you'll figure it out!
Double dropped D Capo 3 = key of F
