Have you seen the craziness surrounding the new Hot Wheels Elite Freightliner semi truck?? What started out as a $60.00 product now is reaching almost $200.00 a piece. I think sometimes people are buying hype and marketing rather than quality
You can get a GCD Mercedes Actros Car Hauler at Ali Express for 70-90€ and the quality is much better than the Hot Wheels Freightliner. The regular HW price with shipping to Germany was 69€, thats okay, but i never would pay more than 75€ for it.
@@marcbaur677 true but when those resale, its only for same price. This is hot wheels. It can come out for 1$ at your grocery and resell for 100+. Now add the rlc factor or whatever hype it has. You have rlc that come out for 30$ and resell for 500$ (example: blue Nissan skyline gt 34
The gap in the windshield did it for me very early on when I saw the Lamley preview video. I was like, “How is NO ONE seeing this?!!” I’m glad you did.
In general, I feel like the hot wheels consumer isn't after realism, they're after a fantasy car experience. Big wheels, not true scale, flashy paints that aren't realistic but pretty, this is what Hot wheels consumers want. That being said, there is no freakin way people should pay $65!
They're after hype lol nothing else. Even among hot wheels hyped castings cost more than detailed. There's something called the oil can series they did back in the day. I was able to get a shelby cobra for 25 dollars. It's some of the best detail I've ever seen on a casting rivaling the likes of tlv. The funny part is the sth variant of the same car costs more than twice as much while looking like utter dogshit
The sale of this Supra started at 9am. I selected it and went to check out at 9:07am and was told I had 6min to check out. At 9:14am I was told it was sold out. I think most Hot Wheels fans are (1) American and (2) old guys like me who grew up with HWs and their subpar quality. Because I could not get this Supra I fortuitously went to AliExpress and discovered Asia's 1/64 companies. Much better details. Asians in general demand better quality than Americans.
“Poor kids don’t have enough to play with”…. I will agree that showing up before the doors open on every scheduled shipment day is wild and cringy, but they are after the treasures and supers. The kids will be plenty satisfied with the 100’s of left overs on the shelves.
Hot Wheels RLC's problem with me, is that I only ordered a few Elite64/RLC models before I found brands with MUCH better value to cost. The consistent QC issues caused me to sware off RLC. Elite64 is a pretty good line, but it's value to cost is still beat by many other brands. As I write this, RLC members can get some Elite64 models for 60% off (about what a Mini Gt costs, if one is a diligent shopper) and they're STILL not worth it in my opinion. Hot Wheels' sweet spot is with the Basics, Silver and Gold lines. I think those have great value to cost, and they really have no competition in that market outside of Matchbox.
I kinda wish it wouldn't had been a targa top, cause those gaps are getting on my nerves! Or either, just give us a targa without the roof. I give them some kudos for trying something different, but for me that was the straw that broke the camel's back. All the other QC issues are just the icing on the cake.
I do not mind the design of the Supra. HotWheels are always going to be wrong in proportions and overall accuracy while leaning more towards a hot rod style like how they always do. If you want detail, you might aswell buy from other collector brands like PGM, but I don't wanna blur the line for HotWheels as a high accuracy diecast brand lol.
I actually really like hot wheels style of cars, never been a fan of collecting “stock” looking models. However, I’m growing sick and tired of dealing with qc issues. My Supra came with paint chips and a warped windshield.
My take on this. The hood hinges are to thick, headlight tampo has the beams out of alignment with each other like it's going cross eyed, no side mirrors, side brake duct is just filled in when there should be a hole there, supra logo missing on the trunk, the rear spoiler is shaped wrong angle wise in the back of it if it's supposed to be stock and the top of it doesn't extend farther out like it should, pixelated light tampo, no front or rear wipers, and to be honest the paint looks to be laid on way to thick which takes away the depth and detail of the shut lines all over the body. I have Auto World Supra and even that is better than this one.
I got my on RLC for 35 (with shipping) but only because the main focus of my collection are all the Supras. Definitely not worth it more than that for sure! If you really want a stock A80, there are plenty of options you can get for half the price and double the quality (Mini GT, Hobby Japan, LCD Models, Autoworld or even the newly release A80 from Majorette)
I love the spectraflame colors and I’m an old guy nostalgic for the brand but not gonna lie- this is crap for the price. I’ll take the LCD over this any day.
It really anmoys me that if they just lowered the prices on these, i feel like they would get so much less hate. I was always really into the RLC stuff because you couldn'treally go anywhere else for some of the cool builds they would do like the gasser Javelin, lifted Willy's Jeep with the adjustable suspension, resto mod muscle cars, adjustable ride height Ford F-100 etc. but even those i always felt like I was overpaying even at retail which usually ended up around $40-$50 after shipping and taxes. Alot of the RLC drops offer some unique features and models that you can't really get from anyone else aside from commissioning a custom, but them retaining the toy-ish look and proportions always makes me kinda fall out of love with them after the initial unboxing excitment. I was hoping the Elite 64 line would kinda be their ticket into that market but even those seem to be hit or miss. *cough cough* RS7
when i saw the LCD model supra in the background, i thought, this is gonna get good!!, i have different brands supra castings, and i think the LCD is the best stock supra casting!, i just saw the RLC proportions and i was like, this is not worth the hype!!, nice video, you should review the LCD supra in a video!
I just went to a local toy show today. Sellers were talking about how much better elite 64 and TH hw were vs. Mainline hw. They priced cars almost $100 and people were buying them. Im like wow. You can get 1/18 scale stuff even thats way nicer for this kinda money.😂
Nice of you to spend the money to do this review. I'll stick with my Hobby Japan Supra's. HJ has one with active aero magnetic lips and they have some with 1/64 engines.

That windshield gap is ridiculous. No need to go any further.
First time collecting RLC can't believe this is my first purchase, I payed 5x its original price due to "resellers" and now it is just getting criticized oof.
I would buy inno64 and Hobby Japan but theyre fragile and dont roll. I cant buy something thats not rolling. I prefer BBR, Pop Race,Tomica Limited vintage, Mini Gt,Auto world, Tarmac Works and then Hotwheels and Matchbox. It be nice if Hobby Japan and inno 64 would would be made more durable. 👍
The glue on the card seems to be a real problem with the supra i ordered 2 and one was completely off and the second one was like holding on to dear life
Apart from the windshield let's be realistic,it's hotwheels but on the whole it's not a bad cast at all ,I love hotwheels but for the detailed favorites I tend to go for other manufacturers, top review!😊
@@bryanareynoldsdo they weigh more than rlc? I really don't know.. they might be more detailed but sometimes they look very light in weight and wheels look cheap
@bryanareynolds I do lol I have models from other brands that are Limited to 300 -800 pcs and yes it does matter lol. I'm paying rlc for fraction of price. Not their fault they're more wanted than other brands. And so scalpers make it harder to get. But when I say other brands I dnt mean mini gt kaido house. I'm speaking of brands like Error404, pgm x one etc. I love all but hot wheels still #1.
Nice video. 110% off topic. But really sure you won't care. "Pop race" got my 1st couple tonight and they look great. Like really look good and diecast base and body. Super detail. Rubber tires. But my question is pop race ture to scale?? Your thoughts. Pop race blue Honda Civic scale wise looked a bit smaller then Kaido House Honda Civic EF Primo Kaido Works V1 #126. Wondering if you have any thoughts. Thank you for your time. Didn't mean to change topic. Just wondering if pop race is worth anything??
@marcbaur677 I will look into it. I collect any brand that's worth collecting. I just bought 404Error Nissan Skyline "gifted" for about 65$. Knowing that I know hot wheels recent purple Nissan Skyline GT-R r34 was around 30$ and resells for 65-80$. Hot Wheels will always have upper hand in after market value. Which it has its cons and pros like not able to getting certain diecast due to exaggerated price
Have you seen the craziness surrounding the new Hot Wheels Elite Freightliner semi truck?? What started out as a $60.00 product now is reaching almost $200.00 a piece. I think sometimes people are buying hype and marketing rather than quality
The thing is that the Freightliner is a like Mini GT truck, its better done than any RLC
This one actually has quality for the retail price it was sold for. I still don't support the over $200 proce point tho
It's sells from 120-170. Haven't seen a 200 one sold but I wouldn't be surprised
You can get a GCD Mercedes Actros Car Hauler at Ali Express for 70-90€ and the quality is much better than the Hot Wheels Freightliner. The regular HW price with shipping to Germany was 69€, thats okay, but i never would pay more than 75€ for it.

its guys like him , who drive up the price !
Hot Wheels is becoming a joke for real collectors.
I didn't even notice the missing side mirrors.... ugh lol
I hate that some RLC’s don’t come with side view mirrors ..I think all cars should it just doesn’t look right 😹😹
That's one of the main reasons why I stopped collecting hotwheels
At least in cars over 6 dollar they should.
You should hear the Hot Wheels designer guy making the excuse as to why it doesn't when it's more about why doesn't it at this price point? LAZY! lol
That LCD model Supra are awesome😊

Kids don’t have a chance at many real cars tho adult collectors buy up most of them from every case

Rare content creator showcasing alternatives and brands that aren’t scalped to death 👌
This video made me happy, the narration, the sarcasm and all. Loved it. 🫡

Ah yes, for 20$ you could buy better 1:64 rather than that no mirrors😂😂 waste of money😂😂 5:58
Mine came like that tho, and the hood doesn't close well 😭
Very curious what you think about 100% Hot Wheels. I miss the days of those toolings being so good
That Top Secret Supra is gorgeous👌
Absolutely!
Also is Open Hood too
Yo is that the lcd supra i said i have one white red one coming hope u make review soon❤❤
Im almost ready to sell my hot wheels and go a different route, it's wat more difficult than it should be to get the cars i want
Life is so much better on this side of the hobby.
I actually really like hot wheels style of cars, never been a fan of collecting “stock” looking models. However, I’m growing sick and tired of dealing with qc issues. My Supra came with paint chips and a warped windshield.
The te37 knock off are played out that hot wheels use it’s on every premium vehicle they make
Both that and too many models having black wheels. 🤨
The auto world supra is great for the price point, opening hood with good engine detail

I ordered my Supra on the day of the drop. It’s paid for and yet my order still says “processing”…lol
Wait what? Are you serious? Haha

Even the Supra MK4 from Tomica Premium has the details and proportions right specially for its price
Haha, absolutely! 💯 💶

Oh, that Audi is pathetic for an Elite 64.

Right?! How did anyone in the community not create an uproar over that? It should have been pitchforks and demanding refunds.

not a good way to start the hobby IMO.
Yeah. Outside US is just a hastle and have to deal with try hards who ruin the hobby, bummer.
hotwheels getting lazy tbh and greedy if you know the other rlc thing that cost 99$..
Realism and Quality is the reason why i sold off my Hotwheels collection.
Good choice!

All 15 million hot wheels collectors in the world need this Toyota Supra in their collection. But I think they only made around 35,000……so go figure
Got to keep the demand SKY HIGH!
I feel sorry for anything thay is never used and just stored for future value. Whether it's toy cars or real cars.
In my video, you can see on camera how the hood sticks open. Video in Spanish though sorry.
Those Top Secret Supras are sweet!!! 😁👍 The RLC one, not so much...😑
Looking at your titles and videos a lot of them seem to be negative. You have a decent amount of subs though. Interesting
Mine wasn't glued as well.
Hotwheels is consider as a toy grade model and safe for children. But yeah, as said over priced! The model is not painted I think, is a chrome plating
Awesome video on comparing hot wheels supra RLC and wow yea I don't like it and thanks for showing the real stuff model scale brands as well🎉🎉
The glue on the card seems to be a real problem with the supra i ordered 2 and one was completely off and the second one was like holding on to dear life

You nailed it, overated. Hotwheel heads are slowly moving on whether they admit it or not😂
💯 💯
would NOT pay $25 no RR its more like a $5 diecast .
for sure!
Hot wheel guys got played 🤣
I think you would have been happier with it if you got it for $25
Hobby Japan cars are ALSO only $25 that's the thing.

Pop Race is true 1/64
Kaido House is not
Compare weight between white supra and rlc supra. I guarantee that white supra weighs nothing
I have the Inno64 Nissan 240Z and i'm sure it weights more than the HW RLC Modell, even the Inno64 is true 1/64 and smaller than the HW RLC one.

Collectors don’t collect hot wheels. Kids do.
And still, here you are...
I don't trust RLC products at all anymore.
This was very poor execution.
This has to be top cringe for someone paying 70 bucks for a hot wheels to only talk crap about it. 😂😂😂😂
Cringe ? He's making money out of this, and btw he's giving away that rlc if you're interested haha
Im only buying hotwheels RLC for their artwork and packaging. :)
The back wheel looks AI
You can't get scalped if you don't buy it. Get an Overdrive subscription and call it a day
We already know why Overdrive isn't a good idea either 😕
Why is that? I have no issue. And its cheaper per car to do that than buy second market @modelcarshouston
Well FnF tomica supra have targa removable 😂
I don't get why are you guys so pressed about the supra when the skylines are worse than these first RLC editions Supras lmao
Tail lights are not wrong......they are custom
please explain how they're custom....
👍👍😎
Hot wheels get no love here ..
It's time to move on, lol
This is the most newb hot wheels collector review ever
that's a good thing!
