I think consistency is key, which is why I agree with Riddles, about neutral being more important at top level player. When it comes to advantage state, less experienced or talented players will appreciate it more, either because they're fewer between, or because of a lack of discipline. That's not to say neutral is everything. Advantage is everything. Not at all. It varies from character to character. You learn that when you learn what your characters win conditions are. What matters is how consistently can you capitalize on your character's strengths? How often do you fall for the same kill confirm, the same reads, the same frame traps? How consistently you play is important, because you want the game to feel like second nature when your opponent forces you to think. You absolutely cannot second guess yourself. If you focus on gaining advantage state so much, you start to see neutral state as losing, which is just not true at all. Not unless you're about to be timed out. That's how I see it, anyway. Easier preached than practiced, but true still.
ryu is secretly the best shoto , against Ken you have an advantage with Shaku spam, against Terry and Kazuya both shotos have an advantage with those toe pokes ( light Dtilt ) , if you play defense and start with toe poke in most interactions you can convert that into combos, there's not much Terry and Kaz can do when they're caught up. I think it's just that the other guys are flashy and Ryu is just Like doing his thing, people don't notice him. Terry Shooting explosions, Kazuya shooting Lazers and turning into the devil, Ken has fancy foot work, and come on he's just cool in general, who doesn't love Dante's English voice actor .

I love Ryu thing is the spike.. When you go for it and you get the hit it's a automatic tatsu and I flick my stick to try to make it back on stage but it fails.

Hey bro can you do a tutorial on ryu and movement ? And combos im having trouble moving all over the screen the way you do to utilize attacks and combos
I played Ryu on occasion previously before he got improved through patch notes, especially 7.0.0. Since then, I’ve been practicing with him and found myself doing better with his combos and, most importantly, his inputs. Because I got better with his inputs, that made doing inputs with the other FGC more consistent with the Shoryuken input being a perfect example. He’s a Top 10 character for me, and I hope to master the character and his many tricks!
I’m not an expert but it just has to do with the fact that Ryu has really good projectiles. Kens hadouken is meant to be bad, so he can be camped a bit easier and has to be kinda predictable by just running in. Ryu, though slower speed, can mix up running in with good frame data or throwing really dangerous fireballs. Let’s him fight characters like snake easier. I might have missed something but this is about it

I personally think Ryu is better than Ken overall because Ken has a lot of multi hits and most of his combos are pretty tight so he's more inconsistent than Ryu is. And given that Ryu's Shoryuken and Tatsu are just better in my opinion. He also he better ways to set up for shield breaks because of his Shaku Hadoken.
Neutral is more important imo, advantage is in a state where you have already won an interaction, getting there requires winning neutral which I think is harder and more important. You can fuck up your advantage state and be ok, you cannot fuck up your neutral and be ok.
Ryu is definitely better than Ken overall because of his strong neutral. Neutral is just about everything in this game. Playing Ken online i feel like im working so damn hard compared to the other person
