I was actually unaware of the deeper intake fans and engine exhaust on the Caliber Wings model. That, along with stunning lineart accuracy has definitely heightened my opinions on the CW model. The CW model also helped disconfirmed my worries about the intake fans being too close to the intake area. The reason why it was depicted that way in most toys was because of transformation limitations. The actual Valks in Canon probably had deep intakes too.
The Calibre has the tighter body and is very clean. However I like the shape of the Canopy and the tip of the nose on the Kitz so much more. It reminds me of a sharks head.
Perhaps the differences between the models are due to the fact that for copyright reasons they must make them themselves using photoramas as references. In fact, there are design differences between the Veritech from the '82 tv series and the '84 movie. Even in the same TV series the same model has differences in some scenes. :)
Your' channel reinspired my Macross/Robotech love! I orderd the Macross Frontier Deculture VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie Decal ver. 1/72 from Bandai! Cant wait to get it!
Trust me i have zero patience lol and I been building kits for a handful of years now. The great thing about it is, you can do it at your' own pace so you can take as long as you wish or need to.
As it turned out, KitzConcept listed the reissue with a preorder price of $159.99! (available starting late 2021, as said here). I have to say that I was thoroughly delighted with the 1/72 VF-1S Dark Gold Version that I recently received ( except the missiles, as noted here ). KitzConcepts must pay some kind of attention to comments and feedback in order to have made the improvements seen in this VF-1J, good work micronian!
p. s. the KitzConcrpt display stand works about as loosely in reverse ( with the gun pod removed )! lol And yes, all the cockpits so far have some... funky colors.
I would almost rather have three different models that was fixed in each of the three modes instead of battling the transformation features. That said, it seems like going from fighter to gerwalk would be easy enough to engineer in one model, as soldier mode is the one that really involves a lot of twisting and turning. Just seeing the steps involved in the transformation really takes away from my ability to suspend disbelief even assuming alien technology from the protoculture in the Macross series.
I have some Calibre Wings VFs, and that dreadful router stand CW makes for them. Really excited about their upcoming DM stands, but since you mentioned "several stand options" for the CW VFs in your video, can you help me out and expand on that a little? What non-Calibre Wings stands work well with their VF models? Any you recommend?
Is it me or is the Kitz a bigger model than the Calibre. If they're supposed to be both 1/72 - one of them is an inaccurate scale. The Kitz appears to be more an anime figure with the accessories you normally expect. Calibre is a Hasegawa kind of model you don't have to build and paint.
KC is definitely too large to be an accurate 1/72, see this pic: i0.wp.com/anymoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/KitzConcept-172-VF-1S-Fokker-28.jpg?ssl=1
These were ALOT cheaper a few years ago. Wish I would have bought one then from Kitz but I was really disappointed with the 1/12 Minmie and Hikaru's articulation that I sold them both and decided not to buy into the Mechs.
Should be available from KitzConcept on their website. Also, by the time you see this the "late 2021" preorder should have closed and reissues should be on shelves.
Technically no. The KitzConcept VF-1J toy is smaller (1/72 scale), has a different transformation mechanism, a different paint scheme, and is over 30 years newer. XD G1 Jetfire was a Hasbro distributed item, originally manufactured by Takatoku in 1/55 scale, with a reverse of the Hikaru Ichijo paint scheme from DYRL. BanDai bought the mold when Takatoku went under and has reissued it multiple times to this day, in most VF-1 styles.

Those model kits look cool. I wish I had the patience to build.

Stop calling Calibre Wings CW. That belongs to Century Wings, even their product code starts with the letters CW.
YOUR clip update Marcross'S figure DETAIL.

Is that the same as Jetfire for transformers ???
G1 Jetfire is the same mold as Takatoku VF-1 toy.
