This was the JAM ❤🎶🔥
Eternal were HUGE in the UK in the 90's. Europe too.
Hey guys love you❤ I’m Taka Boom (sister to Chaka Khan) our brother Mark Stevens wrote this for Eternal❤❤❤❤
Peace and infinite love Taka 😊❤
I'm not surprised that it was written by an American. It definitely has that American R&B sound.
These girls should've been huge in the states. Don't know why this wasn't a smash hit over there.
@yvonnestevens6179 it's a great song. it's funny my sister was into groups like eternal and en vogue when i was growing up but i'm more into them than she is now lol
@@TheRetroManRandySavageIt was a hit. Unfortunately, their only hit here... I loved their entire CD.
Your brother wrote an awesome song.
I saw eternal love in Manchester last week easthers voice is still absolutely amazing! Probably the most underrated voice from the uk ❤ as big as they were they should of gone global her vocals are stunning
Eternal were a British R&B girl group formed in 1992, with the line-up consisting of sisters Easther and Vernie Bennett, with Kéllé Bryan and the latter's friend and classmate Louise Nurding, who were also recruited into the group by the label.
Louise was the first to leave and have a solo career.then Kelle who went into acting.
Just a step from heaven
Angel of mine
Save our love
Power of a woman
I wanna be the only one.
One of our best uk r&b acts. I LOVED them!!!!❤
Eternal will forever be the greatest girl group to ever come out of the UK 🇬🇧 They were before their time! Their debut album “Always & Forever” still sounds current today, 30 years after it was released 👌🏼💯❤️
Easther Bennett - One of the UK's finest female singers of all time!
i thought the lead singer was kelle
@@ANDY1985UK2011 nope
@ld4743 anyway the lead singer was a great singer
@ANDY1985UK2011 nope, Kelle and Louise were just the most favoured and had the longest careers after Eternal disbanded
She was a bully though!
Eternal was doing it in the UK like En Vogue baby! Thanks for the great reactions.
This bop is truly eternal and divine ♥️🫶🏽
And Yes the lead singer, Easther Bennett, and her sister who is also in the group, both started in the Church.
Omg an eternal reaction i cant believe it! My fave girl group ever. The lead singer Esther Bennet is 1 of the most underrated singers ever. They were so cool. 15 top 15 hits in 6 years they r so underrated. Fun fact: they couldnt be marketed in the states because black stations refused to play them because of the white member Louise Nurding. The label ended up giving Louise a solo deal and she left leaving the band to continue as a trio
erm…..colour me badd…..all4one….mary jane girls!?!
@Leo Johnson it's the truth its highly documented
i don’t deny that may have been a fact …..but it’s ironic knowing there were many mixed groups in the 90s that were very successful
@@leojohnson2023like?
@@leojohnson2023 those groups are all American. Eternal was from the UK. Their lack of success in the states was probably due to the fact that they were from the UK and not because one white lady was in the group.
Sweet! Another first time reaction to a song I really like. It’s about time.
15 top 15 hits! U have to listen to I Am Blessed LIVE and u will be BLOWN AWAY
I loved your reaction to 'Stay' by Eternal and Esther's voice, another great UK pop group you might like to checkout is the 80's group five star.
Great Group!!! Only around for a minute!!! Have their album which is FIRE!!! Really great!!!
"only around for a minute"? They dominated UK music for most of the 90s. They had 5 albums four of which topped the charts. They where the biggest girl group of the 90s until the spice girls came along. In the 2000s eternals story was virtually erased because eternals existence went against the narrative that the spice girls were the only girl group around at the time and the had to single handedly beat the boys. Honestly the erasure of eternals legacy is criminal. If you've only heard one album you need to go and buy the other 4 you're missing out
Some songs you'd also like
1.Wet Wet Wet: Wishing I was Lucky
2.Labi Siffre: So strong
3.Gabriellle:Dreams
This was released in the fall of 93. Yes I would recommend them. Try Power of a woman or Step from heaven.
Tune. Remember this one. Early nighties banger 😂😂
You are very spot on too, Easter ( lead vocalist ) comes from a very religious back ground and theyve worked alot with the great Gospel singer / songwriter Bebe Winans.
I need MORE ETERNAL. I have been HUGE FANS of them since. They actually have 4 RECORDS. ALWAYS AND FOREVER / POWER OF A WOMAN / BEFORE THE RAIN and ETERNAL. The 2 leads are sisters ESTHER and VERNIE, back vocalist KELLE and LOUISE. They went from 4 members to 2 ( the sisters ) by the time the last album came ( L.O.L ). LOUISE left after the first ( Solo career ), KELLE was kicked out after the third ( attempted solo career and fell ill with Lupus / has recovered ) the 2 sisters last album was there LAST, SMH. STILL A HUGE FAN AND THEY DID A REUNION without LOUISE AND TOURED FOR A MINUTE. AMAZING FEMALE GROUP WITH TOMS of GREAT MUSIC. LOOK THEM UP. I think the NEXT SONG should be POWER OF A WOMAN, you guys will LOVE IT.
The song was originally performed by Glenn Jones in 1990 and written by Bob Khozouri and Mark Stevens
And re-released by eternal in 1993/94
Most of the backing vocals are made by Louise Nurding (The white girl) she left the band after the first album, the huge hit of Louise was "Let's go round again"
I feel eternal were popular around the world except the U.S? They were big in Australia and New Zealand
My favorite oldie
Great 90's track 👍🏼🤩
Eternal is the UK's answer to En Vogue and Esther Bennet and Her sister lead the group , Caribbean British girls with very powerful vocals. Originally recorded by an American artist Glen ( i forget his last name) , but the UK producer did a wonderful remix of the beat, i prefer the UK version. the original is nice but a bit slower.
Same reaction when I heard it all them years ago
Please also listen to Eternal track I am Blessed
They’re a great band Monica covered their song “Angel of Mine”
These girls were mid 90s in the UK with the progression onto more girl groups emerging -
ALL SAINTS - I know where its At, Booty Call, Never Ever
Spice Girls - you should already know them.
Sugababes - Too Lost in You, Push the Button, Overload
Atomic Kitten - Whole Again
While you chaps had Destiny's Child, TLC, En Vouge, Salt N Pepa, etc. Those were the girl groups we had. I was more an Indie chick back then I liked Oasis, Blur, Pulp. The girl lead groups from my style were Elastica, Lush, Sleeper, Skunk Anansie and Echobelly.
I like Eternal (the lead singer Easther Bennet was married to one of the members of the popular Irish ☘️ boy band Boyzone.) although I wasn’t a super fan of Eternal compare to other UK girl band like the Spice girls, Sugababes or Girls aloud (I never had that bound with them for some reason I don’t know why but anyway I do like them.) I think you guys should react to Eternal songs “Just a step from heaven.”, “Angel of mine.”, (my personal favourite Eternal song.) “Don’t you love me.” And of course their signature song “I wanna be the only one.” (I remember that song and video very clearly as a toddlers living in London in the late 90s it was my first introduction to Eternal.)
Y’all! Did you not hear that Bass line?
My Jr. High days. The white girls was the one for me. 😎😁
Requests
Maxi Priest:Close to you
Beats international:Dublin be good to me
Eternal:Step from heaven
Dublin? Don't you mean dub be good to me?
Please do (eternal - power of a woman) and (eternal - I wanna be the only one) and (eternal ‐ I am blessed) love you guys xxx
Do Wild Orchid. Each night I pray!
You would like stronger by the sugababes
I thought she was Mariah honestly they have the same range and the beat everything sounded so Mariah to me.
to bad auto tunes are the new normal not real singers
