the fire affliction number is very useful because it doesn't just apply to the flamethrower but all flame weapons. this means throwing the napalm eagle strike and the fire mines at a bug breach is actually a good idea.
I think its worth noting that against bile titans it can at least pop the sacks very quickly, which allows it to consistently finish off one weakened by on orbital railgun strike, or vice versa. Obviously still not great as theres many other weapons that can pop the sacks safer and from further away, but its something.
Yeah, I remember it being the moment it became really good against Chargers. Maybe the Flamethrower on the Mech (whenever it gets added) will reach long distance.
They should give us an second mech stratagem which has as flamethrower with further range as a primary weapon instead of the gatling gun. This mech should also be immune to fire damage, ofc. It's made from steel or titanium or something like that after all. This way you could basically bath in the fires you created which would make you the bane of melee terminids. And if it's too powerful, take away the rockets or something.
After the most recent buff the flamethrower is a DELIGHT to use on Terminid missions! Now they only need to buff the minefield deployers and every stratagem in the game will be viable in one scenario or another!

If you want to kill those big bio spinners, just shoot at the ground and they explode almost instantly instead of shooting on top
I did managed to defeat a bile titan once with the flamethrower. But it was already damaged by 500 kg bomb and a rail strike. I had to get under its belly and let it rip.
All flamethrowers found on bot planets were there for brush/ice removal. Yes including the nothing but rock and sand planets. It's the only logical thing.
Haha, either that or long lost Terminid planets!
i said exactly the same about the fire resitant armour
Surprised they haven't done it already. Needs to happen eventually for sure.
I don't think Hulks immunity is a bug because other wise they would just kill 1 player and then die to there own flames. The one case where friendly fire doesn't apply
Surely they should be able to be tackled via the vents though. If its not a bug then its definitely something I would change.
@@TheWileSpice agreed, as the other commenter said - it should at least stun a hulk if you blast its heatsink with the flamethrower, like a 3s shutdown due to overheating while it vents out of all available space
to my fellow drillers from drg
Rock & Stone!
The sheld can be used to protect urself from a little fire damage
The flamethrower is fun until you get a horde of hunters leaping at you XD
They can get really annoying hahaha.
Great video lol
to be clear hosting only refers to the player running the server, not the person who you join. you can be the orange diver but not be host.
fun fact..the flamer might not destory the bug hole..but the flame nade will..no sure whats the big difference
It must be due to the detonation of the grenade. Might be classed as an explosion by the game.
i honestly might buy helldivers now that i know theres a flamethrower.
It feels amazing to use, I can't lie.
@@TheWileSpice well, time for me to start saving then!
My main issue when trying the flame thrower out (against bugs, ofc) was were enemies closing in and me killing myself with the fire.
Yeah setting yourself on fire is one of its biggest downsides and can be frustrating as sometimes it doesn't even look like you should be.
Players should get some kind of bonus for taking a flamethrower to an automaton planet.
I'd love that. A passive buff called 'Overt Bravery' or something haha.
Jetpack and Flamer is the way to go
Boba Fett vibes.
