You're welcome, glad you enjoyed! Us too! It didn't quite make sense from a design perspective in photos, but now that I've spent time with it in person, the design has really grown on me! If you're local to Morristown, we're having an event this Thursday to showcase the XM. Here's the link to register if you're interested: morristownbmw.com/bmwgoeselectric
Wow.... ! ! ! Amazing thank you Ronnie for full detailed on the New 2023 BMW XM ... Well Done. looking forward to your next video on what's NEW on the next BMW.
I was wondering if anyone would catch that... I realized as I said that, that it may not have been the best choice of words. Definitely don't want to rip-off Doug's signature catch phrase!
Definitely would be the Alpina for me! More subtle, simple, and elegant. The XM is a better choice if you want something a bit more loud and statement-making, but I prefer the Alpina's subtlety.
My gripes with the the XM’s design are (1) the door handles should have been flush (think M2), (2) the M detail in the taillights should be deleted, and (3) the window trim should have been 1 continuous like without any breaks.
Interesting, I hadn't thought about the flush door handles. Perhaps they were going for a more substantial and less delicate look for them, hence the rather large traditional door handles. I'm sure it would look good with flush ones as well. Not sure how they could pull off continuous window trim unless they did frameless windows (very unusual on an SUV). And while I can see how it might be seen as a bit over styled, I like the M detail in the tail light!
Almost certain the X6M Comp has 315 rear wheel width, as well. Also, the front fascia needs to be body colored. And bro....the brakes are NOT cross-drilled!! How is this a true M car without that ?! And top speed limited to 160?? When the other big boy M models (5, x5 and X6) can do 190+!! They missed the mark on this in so many ways. I see no reason to choose this over an X6M Comp
I test drove a beautiful version of this in blue and was ready to buy it and learned you cannot tow with it. It is literally the only full size SUV in the world you cannot tow with. Even a Rolls Royce Culinan gives you the ability to tow. I ended up buying a fully loaded Audi RSQ8. Not being able to tow is a fatal flaw of this vehicle. It makes no sense to produce a full size SUV without the ability to tow. BMW went full r+tard on this. Other than that, it was really nice. The dealer was going to sell it to me at sticker, and in this market in the spring of 23, tells you they know it's a dud. A true M car like this should command a premium over MSRP but the dealer ordered the car for a customer that backed away and I understand it was because there was no towing capacity. I tow my Ferrari 458 to various FCA events and I absolutely need towing ability. I really wanted this, but damn was that a deal killer. BMW managed to remove the utility function of an SUV so what is the point? Maybe future models will have towing capacity. If so, I'll be a customer.
That's an interesting point, and the first time I've heard it brought up regarding the XM. I do understand where you're coming from, and if the XM could tow, it would definitely be a more useable vehicle for some people. That said, in the segment it competes in, I don't think very many potential clients will be looking to tow with it. Those folks exist, and you're evidence of that, but unfortunately it's a small enough group that I don't think it would've been cost effective for BMW to do it.
The rear was a total FAIL for me. Just looks weird with that huge off centered gap of nothing on the lift gate. Looks like some stole something off it. 👎🏻
The plug-in hybrid tech is actually quite compelling. The obvious benefits of increased power and response are awesome, and the ability to drive in EV mode is pretty cool. That said, it does come with the obvious downside of adding quite a bit of weight. It may not be for everyone, but it's great stuff for a flagship model!
The interior is a class above the X6M, especially in terms of back seat space, standard equipment, and the more liberal use of top shelf materials. It also has the hybrid tech, rear-steer, a bespoke rear differential, and much more limited production. More unique styling too. That said, it certainly may not be for everyone's taste, and for many people the X6M may be the better choice, especially from a value perspective!
@BMW of Morristown I respect your opinions but M cars have not been traditionally defined by their interiors lol. It's all about performance. They should have left the twin turbos intact on this engine, keeping it @ 617HP, then adding the electric motor to push total output to over 800HP. Then the $160+ price would have been totally justified. There are far too many other missing performance attributes on this vehicle, including the top speed. This smacks of the exact same marketing fiasco of the i8 and we all know what happened to that don't we lol?
thank you for this detailed walk around! i have seriously warmed up to this XM. love it and can't wait to see it in person

Thanks so much Rick! Glad you enjoyed, and thank you for the positive feedback!
I seen one of these this morning while I was at work at tysons corner Virginia….
Another great detailed video as always and look forward to more M reviews in the future.
Thanks so much, really appreciate the positive feedback! Definitely plenty more M videos to come!
Ronnie with the XM video 🔥🔥🔥
Had to get this one out ASAP! Appreciate your support 💙
Thank you! Looking forward to the "Label Red" version as well!!
You're welcome! We can't wait for the Label Red either... looking like it'll be really impressive from a performance standpoint.
Beautiful 🎉
Thanks!
Doug DeMuro would like to have a word with you about your usage of his “quirks and features”
I was wondering if anyone would catch that... I realized as I said that, that it may not have been the best choice of words. Definitely don't want to rip-off Doug's signature catch phrase!
315 tires are on the new x7 lci with the 22s and 23s ;)
I've since realized that we've seen 315's on BMW's before... so it's tied with a few others for widest!
What would you pick between an XM and an Alpina x7? XM's cooler but you sacrifice ride height
Definitely would be the Alpina for me! More subtle, simple, and elegant. The XM is a better choice if you want something a bit more loud and statement-making, but I prefer the Alpina's subtlety.

"....door handles should be flush..."
Why? Because you like it more??🤣🤣
Dude, you are really irrelevant!
Most powerful M car ever been made
Yes indeed!
So, a new definition for ... ugly doesn't come cheap

@@psykhs At least currently and in the US market, you can't.

Takes the soul of the X5M ,but political correct. Who needs a plug in X5M...

my fav car currently it has that 🍑 magnet, its Def a Urus K!ller
There is NOTHING about this vehicle that commands a $30K premium over the X6M Comp. Nothing.
