Dude, you better marry that mechanic for him allowing you to use your camera for this golden footage. This is one of your best vids, and I've been watching your stuff for years now.
866bhp per tonne driving one handed around one of the worlds most iconic race circuits... That engine pulling like a train and the sound being otherworldly... Throwing gears at it like a motorcycle... Spine tingling... An utter joy to watch as the camera placement was just perfection.. As is the car
After many years of absence the legendary Group C cars have come back to Monza Circuit for the 2015 Coppa Intereuropa historic weekend. Something I didn't expect to do was to place my GoPro inside one of these holy cars: the 1991 Jaguar XJR-14 of the MECAuto Racing team and driven by Christophe D'Ansembourg. The on board video covers almost all the first race (I've only cut 5 laps made behind the safety car at the start of the race for a crash) of the Group C Racing championship and you can see a long battle for the first position between this XJR-14 and a Jaguar XJR-16, which was very fast on the straight thanks to its higher power (around 100bhp more than the XJR-14) but slower in the various turns for its weight (around 200 kilos heavier than the XJR-14). Have to thank a friendly mechanic of the team, the team boss and the driver to allow me to get these unforgettable footages. #jaguar #jaguarxjr14 #groupc #groupcracing #monza #coppaintereuropa #gopro #onboard
Metal Gamer Pattern starts top left with 1st gear. 135 246 You probably get confused since the gears are very tight togehter like in every race gearbox and he's skipping gears on the downshifts. The gearbox is a magnesium casing with the gears longitudinally ahead of the rear wheel centerline for better mass distribution and simpler design. The gear linkage runs straight back passing through the fuel cell and oil reservior to allow for a very light linkage with as few joints as possible. Almost all other Group C cars have the gear lever to the right of the driver - who is usually sitting on the right as well making the linkage much more complex.
I have only just come across this gem. Probably the best in-car footage I have ever seen and an XJR-14 as well. If only we could rewind life back to 1983 again and relive the best ten years of World Sportscar Racing ever.
From hill climbs to monza you have the best car videos on youtube, no music just good quality engine sounds and good quality videos... great job and thank you!!!!.
MJTbreww They are brilliant machines, but I think LMP1s are just as good. Yeah whatever, not as great a sound but you can't deny those things make these look like LMP2s.
Wow, great stuff from Bozzy and the people of the MECAuto Racing team! Imagine having this kind of coverage from the actual 1991 Monza 430 km race with Brundle and Warwick behind the wheel!
WOW what a battle! Sooo much faster through Ascari and just not enough to carry it down the striaght! Awesome footage. I love the early lap just rowing up through the gears...one handed...with the throttle wide open around the Curve a Grande! Awesome!
+Alin Marginean That's not a sauber, that's a Jaguar XJR16... The Sauber retired after 4 laps behind the safety car. The difference in speed you see is due to the fact that the later is powered by a Twin Turbo V6
19Bozzy92 I am very grateful for your videos...they are just awesome. Formula 1 has gotten so boring to watch... so I watch your videos to see the essence of the human/machine bond at speed. Seeing these drivers at the limit...watching them manipulate controls is so much more than the Microsof/playstationt like viewing we get from F1...Well Done!!!
Used to have a XJR14 as an SCX scalextric car it was so fast, had a real steering rack system so the car followed the track guide and the wheels turned amazing grip ! Good Times !
Ozzy, this has got to b one of the most dramatic film footages I've evr seen! The camera's right there! The Jag in front wouldn't let him pass. One car stopped in the middle of the road! They could have collided. This was a real race!
In this video, top left, the door frame opens up during high speed. There must be a way to make the door frame stronger to minimize wind resistance. I don't know how much wind resistance it creates though. Good Job!! Great car and great driver.
This was an absolute joy to watch.. I could feel the adrenaline as if I was actually there. A couple close calls, and seeing the other driver in the left mirror through the corners added a sense of urgency. Too bad he didn’t quite have the power to overtake! Awesome video thanks for sharing
One handed half the time, once the AMG retired it was a Jaguar battle all the way! The younger turbo car had the speed, but on a different track who knows! Loved it, great bit of film and truly great cars ;)
What a beautiful sound, What a beautiful view the driver has with that big perspex dome. First time I've seen the view from inside an XJR-14 Group C. I remember watching them when they won Le Mans 24 hour.
Xjr14 was the 3.5 v8 car, it only had a brief qualifying run in 1991 but never raced at Le Mans. Xjr9 and xjr12 were the v12 cars that won in '88 and '90.

Wow!!!! What a great view, and this is a good way of demonstrating how the cars evolved from the first real pereformer the 956 to where the class ended up, pretty much F1 with fenders. SHows you also how P1 got to where it is today! Thanks! Nice work.
Poor little 3.5 Cossie sounds tortured on those down shifts! Great race, tho Christophe must have found it really frustrating to watch the XJR-16 just run away down the straights even when he had the draft.
@@Casper5 You should watch the full video...The Sauber has to retire in the SC phase, then the XJR-14 got overtaken by the XJR-16 and the race goes on...
AMAZING. Loved every second of it. if you're planning to do more videos like these, I'd recommend a Sony Action Cam, the video stabilization it's far superior, but I'm just saying a detail in something that it is, already, absolutely INCREDIBLE. Thanks mate.

***** I prefer the XJR14 with the 8 cylinder. I like 12 cylinder cars but the high revving F1 8 cylinder version of the XJR14 sounded great
The sauber had a leak. You can see some splash on the Jag's window.
+19Bozzy92 PLEASE make more videos like this. This is amazing. Beautiful.
+Brandon Gross So? The Sauber had nothing but brute horsepower. It was outbraked, outhandled at every point.
+19Bozzy92 best track in the world! ok..i'm from Monza :D
The most perfect camera placement. Really easy to see the apexes!

minimilla But what's the pattern like? The gears seem awefully close, too.

One of the Group C cars with the most audible engine at high RPM: 11500 RPM.
