Nope, he was right. It is incredibly stupid to insist that all traffic move into one lane as soon as it is warned, leaving a lane open for long distances.
@owenbrau63 Stupid or not, that is not the law in Texas. Those that are in the lane that continues on has the right-of-way, those are in the lane that is merging into the lane that continues on have to give the right of way to those already in the lane. Until they change the traffic laws. The asshat with the PA system is breaking the law by attempting to force merge his way in.

Was he maybe trying to play the hero role too much? Ya. But it was still mostly good intentions at least. Not like any of these other videos from self righteous cammers who are trying to downplay their own terrible driving by blaming other people.
"give me the flashlight out of the door" flashlight was most likely in the drivers door pocket so as a passenger he's not going to reach across her into the drivers door to get it, a car just flipped and someone has a high chance of being seriously injured so he's in a rush, if someone needs to be pulled out of the flipped vehicle, he theoretically has better odds of removing someone/clearing a path so for him to be on the phone takes up the use of one of his hands
What I love about #4, is that the first thing the driver does is to hit the horn instead of the brakes. I saw so many videos where the cammer just keeps going and causes a collision, when, just a little tap on the brakes or lifting the foot from the throttle would've been enough.
11:25 dude over reacted and the guy even flashed his hazards to say sorry but then you still decided to be a jerk and hold your damn horn down. At this point your just asking for road rage.

I HIGHLY suspect he is lying about what took place also. If you watch closely, right before the cut from the rear view to the front view the car is next to him. And right at the cut to the front we actually see the other car already part way into a swerve AWAY from the cammer. He does swerve back but I think that was an over correction. ALSO, I checked this location on google maps at street view. The location of the cars from the rear view to the front view edit is probably at least a quarter mile difference. So, there was about a quarter mile's worth of footage edited out. Not sure why the cammer would do that unless it showed something other than what he claims. I think what may have actually happened is the cammer was the one that swerved toward the other car and then back into his own lane. The other vehicle swerves to the right, over corrects to the left and then finally over corrects back to the right and into the wall.
He needs to pay for his camping fees. Some places put up signs, "Keep right except to pass" A waste of money for those fools. Germany gets it (thank goodness) The US used to be good. 70s Drove from the top to Florida, only 4 cars did not move over for me, (3 were from Canada).
People who lie on an accident report should be charged with insurance fraud. And if they said it to a cop then also making false statements to an officer. But they never get charged.
#7 right, that would be a zipper merge situation and zipper merges do keep traffic flowing properly. However, the cammer's problem is they went screaming up the other lane, way too far and INTO the merge point and tried to bully their way in front of someone instead of stopping (since traffic was stopped anyway) a short distance before the merge point and indicating until someone lets them in. I get that people are stupid and can't be trusted to let you in, but that's still the correct way of doing it.
nope not right. zipper merge is only useful if traffic is consistently moving. this traffic was completely stopped all the way back because, guess what, there was a traffic light up ahead. he cut everyone in line who was patiently waiting being an absolute douche afterwards. zipper merges don't work in stopped traffic like this because the whole idea is that traffic keeps moving and the people from the extra lane can just slot themselves into the gap keeping traffic moving in two different lanes.
@@Deathchamber99 And if the light was green it would be moving so your point is invalid. Traffic would move better upon that light turning green if half those cars were in the other lane.

@@Deathchamber99 Ignoring things like zipper merges and doing "what feels right to you" is exactly how things like that video happen. Only with more collisions and rage. Zipper merging works in all 2 lane to 1 situations. You may get offended by people taking the other lane and ending up in front of you but that's your own problem for getting in line early when you shouldn't have.
#7 Using the merge lane as a passing lane and then says he is being more respectful than all of the people that did a 'timely merge'. Don't know about Texas but my state, WA, has that as being illegal. Also, in WA state, the people in the right lane do NOT have to let him in AND, if there is a collision, it is automatically HIS fault, no matter how obstinate the person blocking his late merge is.
That would be because it is a fully functioning passing lane right up until the merge point at the construction zone. The fact there are a bunch of clowns queued up who don't know how a zipper merge works (and that it is quicker and more efficient for traffic flow to use all available lanes right up to the merge point instead of everyone merging early) isn't the cammer's fault. And, based on your comment, WA state has made using zipper merges correctly illegal. Brilliant...
@@martindixon54 What we realize is that, if a bunch of people go to the point where this idiot merged, he was past the point where it had become only a single lane (where the cones start). And that means he was passing on the shoulder. Not smart, to start with. Next, I have no idea how you came up with WA state has made zipper merges 'illegal' but that is, simply, untrue. You just have to already be merged BEFORE the lane starts narrowing. People who push as far forward as they possibly can actually slow traffic down as people have to come to a complete stop to let them in. If everyone merges at the same place, the flow is never interrupted and vehicles can continue at a reasonable pace, instead of the stop and start that is caused by queue jumpers (like the cammer did, he forced everyone to stop by not doing a 'zipper' merge). With the merge problem handled, we all could continue at a much faster pace if it weren't for the gapers. "Oh, look! A man carrying a shovel. Let's come to a complete stop to see if he will be digging with that shovel.......". Argh.
@@davidbeckenbaugh9598 Except the spot where the cones start is the start of the merge point, not a single lane. The cones are placed across the lane at an angle like that specifically to mark where the traffic from one lane is expected to merge into the other. The cammer merged exactly where he is supposed to unlike all the idiots in the other lane he drove past. And, I should mention, you are completely wrong about traffic being slowed by "queue jumpers", people merging into a single lane before the designated merge point (which, as mentioned, is where the cones start) causes far more congestion. Seriously, there's plenty of research into it (multiple studies of traffic flow across multiple countries) if you'd bothered to look although, to be fair, a lot of people believe this urban myth despite the evidence which shows it to be completely untrue, hence the massive queue of people going nowhere in the clip. I should also mention that I didn't say WA had made zipper merging illegal, I said your comment gave the impression that they'd made zipper merging _correctly_ illegal and, based on your failure to understand how the cones mark out the merge point (not to mention your mistaken belief that merging early is better for traffic flow), I'm still not convinced they haven't.
@@martindixon54 Well, here in WA, queue jumpers force traffic to come to a complete stop. I have no idea where YOU live. Obviously, some magical paradise where two cars can occupy the same space at the same time. Just watch some jacked up 4 x 4 go around everyone and force their way in. It, literally, forces the entire line that is moving at a steady pace to stop. Which is why WE have made it illegal to use the merging lane as a passing lane. WE like people to be civilized and to have smooth traffic flow. Interruptions to the traffic flow make it hard a=on everyone EXCEPT the person who is forcing their way in. Maybe you folks should try making your traffic flows smoother, without all the stops and starts, and see how much faster you get through construction areas or a traffic crash. And I would sure like you to list three different research studies from three different countries that show the opposite of what I have said. I am going to absolutely love it when you cannot show a single one of your multiple studies that show that forcing a car out of the way speeds things up. Just one minor fender bender in an otherwise smooth traffic flow will gum it very badly. Maybe it IS how you say, but I cannot ignore the evidence of what my own eyes see.
@@davidbeckenbaugh9598 You're seriously too lazy to Google "research into traffic flow at merges" (or words to that effect) and read up on how the research data shows that traffic should use the full length of all lanes until the designated merge point (where traffic zipper merges) for various reasons including increased traffic flow and reduction of accidents to the point that numerous countries, not to mention many US states, are now enshrining such merging practice into law and are even going so far as to change signage so people don't know which lane is closing until they get to the merge point to prevent people merging early and causing congestion? Wow... Oh, and by the way, your eyes are lying to you.
Correct: yes Zipper merges are what you're supposed to do in that situation. When everybody piles into one lane, that's how traffic jams (much like the one in the video) happen. If people are going to get into line that early, that's their problem. It's very unwise and doesn't waive them from having to yield to the people at the merge point in the other lane. If they're going to block people in the other lane just because they're butthurt that they used the zipper merge correctly, not only are THEY being douches but they're also causing traffic jams that affect everyone. The point of the zipper merge is to keep traffic moving smoothly. The cammer, however, did go way too far and attempt to bully their way over. Had they stopped at the merge point and indicated until someone yields, there would have been no problem.

#2 Where I live it's up to a $1,000 fine for impeding faster traffic in the left lane. Also, the speed limit is not a factor in the law. If the speed limit is 70 mph and you're doing 80 mph in the left lane, if someone behind you is doing 95 mph, you're required to move over.
Same in pretty much every state. It's a traffic safety thing. There started being way too many fatal accidents caused by tools on the road who thought they were traffic police who would see someone coming up behind them in the passing lane and suddenly cut over in front of the faster driver to try to force them to slow down. #34: he did have the right away. However, the law states that when you are turning into traffic, you must turn into the lane closest to you 1st (right lane), then signal to get over. People abuse this all the time. The idea is for both of you to turn onto the same road simultaneously using different lanes.
Yes! I never get how people can’t do that, it would save everyone time if both cars turned into the lane closest to them but people insist on going across all lanes🤦♀️
The law is when turning left you yield to oncoming traffic. What lane you go into doesn’t matter. What your purposing doesn’t work because vehicles are big enough to drift into the other lane, so if two cars did that at the same time they would crash into each other. Don’t believe me, go read the DMV drivers manual, left turn always yields to oncoming traffic.
@hasanmichael4966 No sir. If you're light is green to turn left. Traffic across from you is still allowed to turn right unless NO TURN ON RED. That's the idea but it doesn't work that way. Section 141 Highway Traffic Act states that when turning in a road with multiple lanes, you must turn into the lane “that corresponds to the lane from which the turn was commenced.” Told ya. I remember when I turned right into furthest lane while in driver's ed. My instructor informed me dmv would fail me if I do this during my test.
Your statement is incorrect. Only a vehicle turning right must stay in the rightmost lane. A vehicle turning left can use either lane, but is required to yield to a vehicle making a right turn
@userac-xpg no. It's closest lane to closest lane. Left turns into left lane, right turns into right. If there are two left turning lanes, then the inside lane turns to inside lane and outside lane to outside. Otherwise it's always closest lane to closest lane, but most people don't follow that
#10 is hilarious. I just imagine that woman in the VW holding the steering wheel with her left hand, while taking a bite out of her sandwich with the right hand while maneuvering around the truck, totally unphased by the situation.
I will never understand people where they think that, if you are turning right, they can get over into the left lane immediately instead of staying close to your side on the right side and if you are turning left, you can go to the right late immediately instead of staying close to your side on the left side.

#2 ... It doesn't matter that you're "going the speed limit" in the left lane. If people are behind you, you move to the right.

Traffic would move better upon that light turning green if half those cars were in the other lane.
p.s. don't rely on idealistic theories in actual driving because a lot of times things don't work otherwise we'd all be driving like this because everyone would just know what each other are thinking ruclips.net/video/NlYqOLy3hKQ/видео.html (ignore the stupid title)
@@Deathchamber99 Ignoring things like zipper merges and doing "what feels right to you" is exactly how things like that video happen. Only with more collisions and rage. @@Lincolntowncoupe LOL, You are one of those!!! You have the right to being an arse, Only child?
@3:30 there is no zipper merge law where you live so grow up and wait in line just like everyone else
#7 Clearly a line in the right lane but cammer is entitled and determined to cut as as many people as he LEGALLY can.
legal : yes respectful: no
Correct: yes
Zipper merges are what you're supposed to do in that situation.
If you don't use the zipper merge it takes everyone longer as some people use it, some don't.

I love the guy with the PA system on his truck. He thinks that he's a better driver than everyone else and he can go around scolding people with his loud PA. Actually he was kind of a jerk the way he pulled around that zipper merge and thought he could get ahead of everyone else and cut in line.
it doesnt matter if you can "zipper merge" its common courtesy to merge asap and not go to the very end. people who dont understand that are assholes.
My dad does it too and I get so mad. Anyone who does that just to get ahead (like not late to something or anything) probably has no patience in anything else. No one has more right to the road than others except Emergency Vehicles getting to an Emergency.

Here in FL we will write you a reckless driving citation if you are caught doing it.
When you drive in retaliation of an idiot on the road, there are now 2 idiots on the road.

9:45 Alternatively, you (and the car you both passed) were going slower than he was in the left lane and you both should have moved over and let him by. If someone is "tailgating" you in the left lane, you're the problem.
I agree with this. Until the tailgating driver speeds around and cuts them off and causes an accident.

People who think they're being considerate letting someone turn left in front of them, without considering the lane next to them cause a lot of accidents.
When I'm forced into that situation by "courteous" drivers, I inch forward to see around them before going. I can't believe people just trust a random stranger.
**Honks horn** passenger: “he has right of way!” Driver: “I didn’t know!” *continues to honk knowing they are wrong* How do some of these cammers have licenses. Such lack of road law knowledge. Ego is a hell of a drug 😂
I mean, the truck waived right of way when he crossed over to the left lane upon entering the highway. You're supposed to complete the turn and stay in the lane closest to you if there's multiple lanes available, and likewise for the driver on the otherside. She did, however, overreact because it was such a small infraction anyways - they weren't that close, haha.
If we took away the license of every Ford F150 and Dodge Ram driver in America we could reduce car accidents by at least 50%
Ever since I got my license, I’ve only had problems with the people who drive trucks.
Otherwise it's always closest lane to closest lane, but most people don't follow that
Quite often I look at the bs my fellow Texans do, and I'm just ashamed to say I come from the same state 🤦

I will never understand people where they think that, if you are turning right, they can get over into the left lane immediately instead of staying close to your side on the right side and if you are turning left, you can go to the right late immediately instead of staying close to your side on the left side.
Because they can? Especially if turning from a single lane road to a multi lane road from a light. Of course, you have to yield.
#20 the dash cam driver is the problem here. stay out of left lane if your not actively passing someone.

Or let them get ahead of you then turn onto a side street.
#5 Amazing that you can see two double yellow lines but can't see that the red truck has nothing to do with the white truck losing control. The white truck was TAILGATING (see 2:25) and lost it when he finally hit the brakes.
they probably drive that street all the time and know it's a no passing zone. regardless, curves like that, especially in conditions like that, aren't really smart for passing on a two way two lane road. red truck didn't cause anything, and white truck was 100% tailgating. unless OP meant the white truck was trying to pass but couldn't because the 2 other trucks were passing and everything got chaotic. overall all 3 of them are ridiculous.
also you can see the double lines right before OP swerves off the road
@@deanwagher1944 You are entirely correct in everything you say. Just thought I'd mention that an outsider couldn't guess that it was a no passing zone though I know I wouldn't pass with road conditions that bad.

Last one I actually followed until they stopped and was on three separate dispatches throughout. The car eventually stopped and police came and did an information exchange and left without anything done. Turned out the lady had expired DL, no insurance, and no registration on the car. They completely dropped the ball, didn't even run her ID or look at the details. They just wrote the info down for me and gave it to me and by the time I was able to verify the info, they were gone. @@tarnsand440 Lack of police work is an understatement when it comes to traffic. At least we don't have cops and DAs looking the other way for property crime like San Francisco, except for the fact that H&Rs are property crime...Most of the time as far as I can tell they don't even dispatch for accidents anymore unless injuries are reported. It is hard to explain the frustration when someone drives like a moron, resulting in felony property damage hit and run, then proceeds to run until you take the time, effort, and risk out of your day to stop them to get justice and have the police just tell you to go to the nearest station to file a report and let the people go...so I guess you could say you can see where we are headed...It is really unfortunate to know that if someone hits your car and causes substantial damage, that you have to consider ensuring that injuries occur or falsify them in order to get them to come out to do their job upholding the law. It's a slow fade...nothing happens at once but the trend is clear, and where we are headed is clear...not to mention that if police are an essential function of society and they stop functioning properly to protect and serve, society has no choice but to seek alternative methods of justice, by society itself, rather than relying on police. Shame that the system is also structured to allow for the prosecution of those who have no choice but to take their personal and property safety into their own hands, only to be prosecuted by the very people that should have been there to protect and serve in the first place.
Same game in SF and politically adjacent cities, except it goes for all property crimes as long as they're under $950...police don't even bother because it's just a misdemeanor and there are too many felonies saturating the MDT (or whatever the dept is using to provide mobile data terminal transmissions). Justice systems are weaponizing the occurrences of crime against innocent citizens by letting criminals do what they want with increasingly less accountability and justice.
