The Care Bears Iceberg Explained

Lotsa isn't the only one whose gender was changed. Another prime example is Funshine Bear, who I know for sure was female in the early shows but became male in the early 2000s. There is also Swift Heart who was referred to as he/him a few times in DIC series but was obviously presented as a she in The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland. It's really hard to speak for the others though because the Care Bears wiki doesn't have the "Gender" point in the info for characters with ambiguous gender. Some time ago this point was on their pages and there would be written something like: female (80s-90s), male (00s); but now this point is missing and all characters with ambiguous gender are referred to as they/them in their descriptions, so the only way to find out which pronouns they used in this or that version is by watching the shows. There is even a separate wiki page on Care Bears wiki that has all characters like this. I should point out though that there is one character who, as it seems, was already made as a non-binary: Togetherness Bear, who first appeared only in Unlock The Magic, was addressed using both male and female pronouns during their debut video.

About Bright Heart’s voice change, well if you seem to do research on the voice actors, you would know that the voice actors of Tenderheart and Bright Heart switch roles with each other. Tenderheart’s voice actor for the movie voiced Bright Heart in the Care Bears family series, while Bright Heart’s voice soft voiced Tenderheart in the Care Bears family series.

The pandas crush two of your observations:
1. The pandas do not have 'heart' in their names
2. They don't have hearts on their tummies.
Moreover, if we're to count the second movie as canon, the bears and cousins were all adopted by Trueheart and Nobleheart, meaning that though the cubs grew up together, they may not be related.

i enjoyed this video :) a lil topic that wasn't covered was champ bears color change?? in the 80s he was orange and in all the 2002 plushies i have of him he's blue? i have literally never heard anybody talk about this, makes me wonder if there were any other color changes i don't know about...
