I know it's been years since this was made but I just want to say that now I believe that the whole Shreeky thing wasn't true, or it was at least a half truth.
I saw discussions about the character being stolen on some Care Bears forums and only one person brought up the Nelvana losing to DIC thing. I don't think DIC even had rights to the show until the 2000's. Even if that part is false, it's still extremely suspicious how similar the characters are... Maybe Nelvana just stole the character because they ran out of ideas?...
