Key word THROW BACK! this is what you would have seen if you were alive back then.I like how the Packer, Bears and Giants, your oldest teams in the NFL show us what it might have looked like. as silly as some uniforms look. Maybe they didnt look so silly back then. Besides its not like they are going to ware them every game

They're not horrible, they're just very old school and going against modern sensibilities of what a uniform should be. Those wings on the helmet are a super old helmet logo. The only team i know that has that on their helmet these days is Michigan in college football. The khaki pants don't really go with the bright red. The rings around the socks go against the modern convention that socks should be either solid color or have stripes. The horizontal blue bar in the jersey breaking up the bright red is very old school and looks like it belongs more on a soccer jersey rather than on a football jersey.
You can go old school and look decent. If they wanted to keep their old school look, they should've gone with the solid red jerseys and the solid red socks. It still would not have helped the clash of the khaki pants but at least the unis would have looked better. Solid red shirts and khaki pants would look like some type of variation of the 49er's color scheme to the modern audience. The pants desperately need some type of striping going down the sides.
