MLB Shop / Fanatics did us dirty on this one. I too got fooled by this. I have side-by-side comparison pictures to share if you ever wanted to make a follow-up video of this. Just so you know, the new one sold at the dodgers stadium comes with a whopping $570 price tag.

It's funny that you mentioned it's probably a blank customized jersey because I was about to say that they don't have those Ohtani jerseys that you're displaying on MLBShop but it would make total sense though.
They all have the stick on size on the neck instead of the number that the authentic jerseys with the red numbers in front. Those are currently priced at $175. I don't have an MLB jersey myself and I'm a die hard Dodgers fan so I told myself that if Ohtani signed with the Dodgers, he'd be my first jersey. I'm looking to get one at a reasonable price of course.

Looks like they used leftover old stock to meet demand for this one. The new jerseys are losing the separated drop tail and the MLB logo is now lower on the back, below where the piping would be on some team’s uniforms. Fanatics has the new Diamondbacks jerseys up to compare this to.
The numbers are perforated now too. The names also have a rainbow arch to them as well. The Dodgers stadium store had them for sale. I honestly prefer the look and fit without the tail, but I hate how the d splits in the middle of the wordmark as well as the lowered batterman logo
@@JerseyConnect7the Dodger stadium store has the new Dodgers authentics for 2024. The template for the new jerseys are different than yours. You can see it in Shohei's signing press conference as well. They all have a lowered batterman logo, rainbow arched names, perforated numbers, removed drop tail, and depending on the team the numbers, wordmark and name fonts are smaller. I think fanatics just wanted to capitalize on the Ohtani signing frenzy and just customized some using the old jerseys.

Finding this video in Mar ‘24 - if MLB/Nike/Fanatics don’t fix the terrible jerseys, this older stock authentic jersey is gonna be a pricey collectible soon. New Ohtani jersey with the older jersey template is a gem

@@JerseyConnect7 to be honest no one did. But Nike/MLB/Fanatics really screwed up with the new changes to the jerseys they debuted in Spring Training.
Assuming they don’t change/fix it, this template will be the last good Nike MLB jersey made IMO

The Nike elite changed mlb logo on collars is lower now
That is the old majestic jersey. You can tell because the buttons on the new Nike elite template breaks in the middle of the d in dodgers instead of between the o and the d.
It has the Nike logo on it at the beginning. I have a mookie jersey I bought about a year ago and it has the break between the O and D.
Yeah, I heard they butchered the New Jerseys vapor limited I believe I wanted to see that one and know if it’s better than the original doubt it.!!! Don’t know if they’re gonna be wearing that jersey anymore, even though it looks better than the new ones.🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

That is last year's authentic. Which was a lucky break for you. The new style has the 2nd 'd' in the team name split in half. And ugly holes in the numbers. Which looks like crap. Props to you not getting the stinking Gugenheim junk on the sleeve.

That's older model new one has no tail and MLB batter logo has cardboard feel then shinny because dbacks release theirs in new version.

Hello, I just won an authentic Shohei jersey. My measurement of chest is 42 inches. I'm 5'7". So I should ask for a Large? 197 lbs.
I think large because it'll give you more space in the chest area. What size shirt do you normally wear? I would go with your shirt size?

I got the new 2024 authentic OHTANI straight from Dodgers stadium Dodgers store, it's got the little holes in the front red numbers and the back numbers

That $170 jersey is all screen print. Only $450+ jerseys get the real stitched logos/numbers and the embroidery. Their new price on the new jerseys are outragenous. It's around $500 range..

There really is no point, the authentic and “player versions” are so similar the difference is basically unnoticeable
Nike screwed up big time. They shouldn't introduce a completely different design without a proper notice, while selling the jerseys of newly transferred players during off season. If Nike don't retreat on the new design, that $450 jersey is now a meaningless jersey since Ohtani would never wear it on the field.
