My granddaughter and her fiancé were here last night while I was watching this and they were dumbfounded…. they couldn’t get over the photography and the fact that it made you feel like you were driving down the road. These kids are not into TV like a lot of people are and they wouldn’t be bothered with it but I noticed Devon couldn’t keep his eyes off it. You do a great job.
Thank you for taking us along on your road trip in Washington state, we are now on our winter years, have gone to almost all of the 50 states except for Oregon and Washington state which we planned long time ago, then we had the pandemic and had knee surgery hence now ambulation is limited. We are really grateful that you took us along. Safe travel and thank you so much👵🏻🤓
As a native of Idaho I loved tht you recognized Zip's Burgers as the regional burger joint lol!! It is real good food too - I hope you tried one! - Jim
Love the waterfalls!
Definitely beautiful there went and seen Silverton Washington was very beautiful😂 well rush back together again watching some of your great footage thank you so much
When will pt 2 be available? I live in Burlington WA and know this drive well. Happy Travels
Well you missed 65 miles or so when you did not follow Hwy 20 out of Usk, Chewelah is not on Hwy 20...
We are retired and don’t have money for trips anymore. Thank you for taking us on one!❤
Hey, Hey, RVerTV Russ, Letting us Ride Along today and see the scenic highway. Yeah 👍
I'm in Island Park, ID off of highway 20, maybe our paths will cross?
If you ever come back, spend some time around Mt. Rainer. Hwy 410 & Hwy 2. Spend a couple days exploring the park.
Chinook pass, my favorite place in America, good childhood memories! Will go back there someday for sure.
Washington is a beautiful state!
Oh that’s Awesome ur coming to Washington State born and raised in this Beautiful green state! Enjoy our beautiful state ☺️🌲🍎🍏🍐🍒
My husband and I both grew up in Washington. Your video makes me homesick.
Thank you so much Russ, for taking us along on your adventures! We're enjoying the Cascades today, and the views are phenomenal❣️
Hey hey, Russ! Thanks for all the coverage of the beautiful Pacific Northwest! My home! No place like it on earth.
I think its amazing how the architecture in the 1930's was so focused on details like those light posts at the Diablo Dam. In the middle of nowhere there was time and money to add this "Art Deco" feature.
As a young boy, my Dad spent part of his childhood in the State of Washington and absolutely loved it.
It's wonderful to hear you speak about the forests we have here in WA. Beautiful video.
Just watched this whole video on 2x Speed ;-p Thanks "No fuss Russ"
Beautiful! You did an incredible job! I felt like I was riding right there with you 👍❤️
Cool video, Rust. Can I make a suggestion? A second camera may be installed for the rear view inside your RV. As you leave the bridge, you'll see your RV get further and further away from the bridge. That would be a cool view from your video.
Beautiful beautiful.!! Thank you so much for sharing. Be safe and God bless you.
This is way better than my dad’s army days stationed a couple places out there .. before sent to sit in fox holes in Germany. I got detailed report of cold weather there that required double layers warm wool socks and cups of coffee.
Very cool Russ 😎 Take care sir
Absolutely beautiful! America the beautiful!
YAY!!!!!
Another amazing and beautiful video Russ. I’ve never been to Washington before that part is so beautiful may have to had it to my list of to do. Thanks again and look forward to the next video.
You need a Part 2 for the entire Washington State Highway 20!!! oh - you just said that! 🤣Worth waiting for! 👍
I'm enjoying your once in a lifetime series. I live near hwy 20 and have to taken the very trip you took on more then one occasion . I never get tired of it. I have friends I visit in Tonasket, Chewula, Sequim, Port Angeles, Joyce and Forks. My favorite town on the route is Port Townsend. Next favorite is Winthrop.
We are heading to Wannacut lake soon for a family get together for a week
I lived in Washington State when he said Tonasket I thought where that I saw sign realize he just pronounced it wrong. Welcome Washington State
That Was Totally AWESOME 👍👍👍
Thanks! 👍
Thanks, Russ!! That video brought back a lot of memories. In 1961, while attending Cal Berkeley, I took a hike up in that area with a couple fellow students. We took the boat up Lake Chelan to Stehekin and hiked over the pass down to Diablo Dam, about a 50 mile hike. The hike includes a number of trails including part of the Pacific Crest Trail. It seemed like we were somewhere in the Alps.
Back in the day my grandfather and dad had timberland in Washington state near Bellingham. When they would cut trees they always planted new trees to replace the cut trees. I believe it's a must.
THANKS!
💙👋AMAZING FOOTAGE SCENERY ❤️👍💯👍💯 THANK YOU, I MUST SAY AFTER HEARING WORLD NEWS AND ONE'S DAY.....THIS IS RELAXING AND STRESS FREE🥰😉😁 EVERYWHERE YOU'VE TRAVELED, YOU BRING GOD'S CREATION IN YOUR AMAZING FOOTAGES ❤❤❤❤
FYI: @ 2 minute mark, Russ is showing us how calm the Pend Orville river is. Anyhow, there's a nice little camp ground across the bay called Albany Cove. Corp of engineers camp ground. Bill PS, in my younger days, I loved water skiing in that bay & up to Priest River. Lastly, Priest Lake is near by. Its my fav & Boundry Dam is a nice secluded place with cool caves near by.
We took a tour through boundary dam a few years back
Ohh. Gotta gotta do this run. THANKS, RUSS! 😊
The Washington Cascade Mountains are absolutely gorgeous! Just think--you live in the area with the Cascade Mountains in your backyard--you'd wake up every morning drinking coffee and enjoying the gorgeous views. Awesome, absolutely awesome. Russ, thank you so much for taking us with you on your rv travels. We subscribers love you. I wish you safe travels. Talk soon, Alan.
Nice, nice.
All I can say is that is beautiful that is God piece of Earth absolutely beautiful
Hey Russ if you can you should see the town of Leavenworth Washington
You have a great sense of ergonomics for viewers. Just by the quick intro right into the content. I think it’s genius.
Where ever you go....we go...thanks
I’m always mesmerized by the beauty you capture with your camera. The sharpness is amazing. Great job I get to travel to places I’ll never be able to go but thru the beautiful videos you provide. Love you and thank you soooo much for the joy it brings 😊
thank you
Hi russ great tour thanks alot love the country an the small towns . Cheers mate🇦🇺
Just now watching your trip through Washington State. We lived there for 23 years and enjoyed camping all over the state. You are bringing back so many memories. If you have not been to the Grand Coulee Dam, it is worth a visit. I also wanted to tell you, that because we watched your videos on Millersburg and Amish country in Ohio, we spent 3 days there on our last camping trip! It was wonderful. We also did the scenic route along the Ohio river. It was beautiful. Thank you for your relaxing and enjoyable videos. At 1.29 in the Cascades that is the Liberty Bell Mt. Gorgeous!
❤Always a relaxing time with such a kind voice. Love of God's creations❤🙏🏼 ❤🇺🇸
I watch your videos all the time, and this one is super special to me, brother! On your way through the Idaho panhandle on hwy 2, I live in the tiny town of Priest River, in fact the road just before the blue mural is the street I live on! Thank you very much.
Leavenworth is one gorgeous town! Love the square, and their hanging baskets! Lots of good eats too!
I live in western Washington but have spent my 39 summers going over the cascades to Winthrop. My family has gone deer hunting over there for 4 generations. My husband and I were also married there! Thanks for this video!
My husband was from Twisp, WA, the next small town.
Great area, wish you done more drone shooting in this place, keep up the great job . God bless
Washington is such a beautiful state. Thanks for the magnificent trip.
Stunning! Thank you
Hi Russ, I love this episode of Hwy 20 travels.
Now, when showing the west side of Cascades Mtns you're near my stopping grounds.
I'm happy to live here in PNW and so close to the mountains.
I'm glad you traveled through this part of WA State and shared the view for all to enjoy.
Thanks for all you do.
Phenomenal views! Thanks for taking us on your journeys! We’ve taken that route previously when we were so much younger! Wonderful memories!
Whoa!! My tummy is still flipping looking Dow into those canyons. Awesome!
Russ, you really have a knack for finding beauty!
Washington Pass Overlook has to be one of my favorite videos. Every time I view it, I see something awesome. Thank you for so much pleasure.❤
Washington is beautiful and prosperous❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing this. It was a great time.
I just thought.. about all the sick people who can't get to travel. You've blessed a lot of folks.
My cousin lived in Republic for over 50 yrs. Now she is in Kettle Falls. And you are right those small town folks know everyone. I was born in Washington state but have lived in Arizona now since 1985. Miss my Washington.
1:34 into the video is just gorgeous! (the little waterfall)
At the end when you said "talk soon" you were by my house!😅
Ross lake goes into Diablo, then Gorge lake (Not George) then the Skagit river. The amazing color of Diablo lake is from Gneiss rock flour from the glacier up thunder arm. I did bus tours (pre-pandemic) from Newhalem to where you turned around with a 45' charter bus! Great video, come back again soon!
Hello! I was so happy to see you make a video driving through my town of Republic, WA. On your way there on Sherman Pass you mentioned the metal statues of wolves. Those statues were made by Smoker Marshand. He is a very well know tribal member to the Colville Tribes and makes those statues. You can actually find them all over Washington State. He was an amazing man who did so much for the indigenous here. He unfortunately passed away about a month ago. Thank you so much for your videos.
woww
It's a gorgeous drive - I've done portions of it already (the Sherman Pass, etc) and overnighted in Chewelah. When you were driving out of Colville I'd hoped you noticed the Auto Vue Drive-in Theater, one of several remaining drive-ins in Washington State.
My Roommate in College was from Kettle Falls & Colville. I went and visited his parents 9 Acre Ranch and shot my 1st ever Gun on the Property.
However, since I was a 19 year old City-Boy who didn't know anything about Guns, his Dad handed me a Magnum .44 Revolver. I got a Big Surprise when that thing packed quite a punch & almost knocked me back off of my feet. Fun Times & Great Memories 🎉🎉
I lived in WS for 7 yrs. Thanks for this.
Russ, I appreciate what you do! Here’s my wish-list of trips I’d like you to film!:
1) Atlantic coast of Georgia, SC, and NC - you would love the Outer-Banks in late summer!
2) Fall trip through Western PA, Upstate New York, NH, VT, and Maine!!
You’ll need 6+ weeks to do that one right!
3) Northern and Central MN, and Northern Wisconsin
4)Western Canada and Alaska
These trips could catapult your channel to 500,000 subscribers👍🤠!!
Thank you so much for this enjoyable video, love the long videos. The scenery is just so beautiful and truly breathtaking, thank you from South Australia ❤
Russ, on the Civilian Conservation Corps - the program had expanded to men ages 17-28 and it ended in 1942. So if someone was 17 in 1942 he might be age 98 currently- my question is : Are there any living CCC guys still around??
I know nothing about that part of our country and I live on the west coast. I have gone up into b.c. and visited Vancouver a few years back but never went east Washington .It’s gorgeous up there but I bet it rains a lot. Colville looked a lot bigger in your video that it does on the map. That’s a cool town. They even have a Walmart there. Another bucket list destination for the little Toyota rv I think. This was a really good virtual trip on a sun afternoon. Thanks. Cheers - 👍
Thank you for doing these videos you've done a great job and I appreciate you 😊
Had been out of town for a couple weeks and haven't been watching videos. Just start watching your videos again. Had to smile. I missed hearing you say "cool!" and your sense of humor and your laugh. Love that you take us on these trips with you. Your videos are so good and I really appreciate them. I can't wait till I get another RV or camper probably a Class B and get back on the road again..
nothing like it!
I also love how much you love and appreciate nature!
I grew up in central Washington, and now live just across the border in Idaho. Many years ago my husband and I did that drive. Thank you for bringing back so many memories. My husband has now passed on, and being in my 80's will never get to see it again.
Wow...I have watched this video a couple of times and it's so pretty up in the mountains...not only the mountains, but love those trees in that area and the sky itself is so beautiful! Thanks so much and stay safe!
Perfect timing, we'll be enjoying this area in late August (traveling from Western Pennsylvania) and I was double checking my "stops" with all of yours. Thank you and looking forward to Part 2
I love the trees. Not sure if they're Lodge pole pine, but they remind me of Yellowstone.
Incredible!
Thank you Russ. Really nice video. Gorgeous scenery!!!! I use to live in Washington. St. Safe travels!!!
Great Video! We enjoyed this as it will be part of our road trip next month going east through Canada and coming back from Montana via 2 and 20. Although I have been over the North Cascades Highway many times, have lived in Washington for 48 years and never explored the NE part of the state. Will be excited to see part two of this trip as highway 20 goes through Port Townsend where we live. It is also where the ferry from Whidbey Island comes in (ferry designated as part of hwy 20) We have a 2020 Ford Transit (converted) van. Just a side note: The town of Tonasket is pronounced TOE-NAS-KiT.
Such a beautiful drive. Lots of Kodiak moments. Sure is a deep dropoff, yikes. 🙂👍
In answer to your question... Yes, the Columbia used to freeze completely over... Pictures are available in the newspaper archives in Portland and Vancouver, from back before WW2... Automobiles and people... 🙂... 🤓👍
🙋♀Hello Russ! I really enjoyed the scenic highway 20 video. Beautiful!👍
YOU were in are area! Chewelah- (chə-WEE-lə) means water snake.Fool’s Prairie used to be called Chewelahs nick name for a while which it meant, the land looked like a prairie but actuall is a wet boggy ground. Chewelah is bilt on a old lake bed . the City of Colville " We pronounce it " Callville" even though it has a O instead of a , We have lakes every where, Colville National forest and rv parks dotted through out the Northeast corner of wa state. My family is this areas orginal homesteaders. So very old history with stevens county Wa. Older than The City of Spokane WA ,Glad you enjoy our area, We get Heavy winters up here and super cold times too in winter. Cheers Russ From Tammy and Glen of Creative artist2 channel🙂🙋♀🙋♂🐦
Where is part 2 of this one? Just to let you know my wife and I are From Bellingham Washington. We moved to Gilbert Arizona area 25 years ago and we're home sick just watching all the beautiful country side. I drove longhauler RT 2 across Washington Many many times home to Bellingham. Thanks buddy
The Columbia froze over in the 1920s and 30s. Use your favorite search engine for pics of cars driving on it and planes landing, too near Vancouver, WA. Must have been "global freezing" back then. LOL
I've traveled on hwy. 20 probably about five times across Washington. I usually go around Labor Day. I've followed 20 and sometimes go to the San Juan islands, all by motorcycle.
Beautiful. I absolutely fell in love with Washington state on my 1st visit in 2017,,,❤
Sitting here having my coffee ☕️ and enjoying the trip 😂
What a beautiful drive. Wowzee! The drive over bridge where Dam was cool :). What year I wonder was the Dam built. The color of the water I think is from glacier run off. That one path you took was nice paved with railing all to yourself.
Love love love these videos! Such a beautiful road trip! Thanks for sharing!
Glad u enjoyed !
Anacortes, Wa.
Wow that's a beautiful state..I really enjoyed coming along Russ 😊 safe travels ❤
How do you get to Ross Lake?
There is no direct road access to the resort--hike or boat in only. The resort rents paddle and motor boats, and operates a water taxi service to all major trailheads and camps along the lake. The resort also provides portage service between Ross and Diablo Lakes.
I seriously considered moving to the Spokane area. It is SO beautiful.
I have traveled hiway 2 across the state but never 20. Thanks for your sharing! Oh by the way Zip's is one thing I miss from the eastside of the state.
I’m not crazy about all the logging. The trees are what keep the environment in check. Destroying forest changes the environmental balance which I turn creates warming.
Ccc was rosevelt make jobs for young men in 30s depression civilian conservation core built most of forest service mountain trails an shelter s forest fire control and accessibility all hand tools and mussel
I love all your videos and as a born Washingtonian this video is awesome. I have been here almost all of my 62 years and am about to move to Arizona for the remaining. Thanks for all your great videos!
If you would have kept walking up that path on Washington pass you would have gotten the very best view of the mountain
