I'm a NICU RN and I want to praise you for making the right feeding choice for you and your baby. I see so many women who miss out on enjoying their babies because of the pressure to breastfeed and feelings of failure if it doesn't work out. Babies need happy mommies. Mental health outweighs breastmilk in my opinion. Enjoy your beautiful daughter and give yourself time to settle in to your new role and body.
This happened to me. I remember crying over the phone while in the hospital to my husband about how I needed him to tell me it was going to be ok if i couldnt breastfeed because I just wanted to enjoy her and was already so anxious when breastfeeding didnt go well the first few days we'd tried. We had latching issues primarily and even though I tried every day at every feed for 2 solid months, and sought help from 3 different people, we never figured it out and we both cried every time - her from hunger and frustration and me from frustration and sadness. For moms and babies who don't pick up breastfeeding naturally and instantly, it is so emotionally draining. So thank you for your compassion! More doctors and nurses need to reassure new moms like you have. I know I wish I'd had more reassurance.
My mum bottle fed me and I turned out ok! I don’t understand this perception that if you can’t breastfeed then there’s something wrong. It’s absurd. What I want to know is who is contributing to this and why?
@Susanna G it's mainly because basically all of the pediatric experts out there say breastfeeding is best. There's lots of research that shows breastfed babies *tend* to have IQs 5 points higher, have healthier body weights, etc. Which makes sense because breast milk is obviously meant for human infants so its uniquely ideal for their nutrition. So obviously if you can't breast feed your baby, you feel like you're failing to give them the very best. But tbh, formulas have come a long way and are now manufactured very closely after breast milk - as closely as is scirntifically possible. And my baby, who I also had to bottle feed, is very healthy, energetic, clever (having reached several milestones early including verbally), the perfect weight for her age, and taller than usual (most think she's closer to 2, but she's only 14 months!) So its probably not as big a deal as it seems either
I had to formula feed my second baby for mental health reasons. My doctor said a happy Mom feeding formula is better for the baby than a sad Mom breastfeeding.
I breastfed both of my children but, I hate the stigma around bottle feeding and breastfeeding. I see women feeling ashamed for not breastfeeding their child and they shouldn't be made to feel that way at all. It's awful the amount of pressure they put on breastfeeding. Also as a breastfeeding mum you're made to feel embarrassed by breastfeeding in public and I don't like it when other women feel the need to justify why they've bottle fed their child to me just because I breastfed mine. It's a mum's choice at the end of the day, you do what makes you feel comfortable and happy, we should normalise both choices without any negativity surrounding any of them.
Congratulations to you all. Please don't pressure yourself to lose your tummy. As you said, it's only been 3 weeks. It's taken 9 months to grow a human, it's going to take time to get to a new normal. You've also had a really intense/traumatic birth. Just focus on taking care of your baby and yourself. If you feel like you're struggling emotionally and physically, say something to your husband and your carers. You have just done an amazing and really difficult job. Well done warrior.
It really shows how little info is shared on the post partum stage when people think they need to bounce back so quickly. 6 weeks minimum to let the uterus contract, and like you said 9 months to get 'back to normal' is much more realistic. In my language we say "9 months up, 9 months down"
I don’t what came over me- but when you started talking about the empowering energy in the room as you gave birth, I burst out crying. Then while I was crying, you said her birthday…and that’s my baby sisters birthday. All the best to you, what a lucky girl.
Congratulations girl!! I was fully dialated and in active labor for over 24 hours. I’d say that was the closest thing to hell I’ve experienced lol- followed by of course, pure baby bliss. Women are amazing and I am forever in awe of us! Be easy on yourself with your tummy. She baked in there for 9 months! It takes time. Enjoy those newborn snuggles ❤
Congratulations!!!! How wonderful! Lose the tummy slowly, it will come! Even if you don't lose it all, be proud of the mommy pooch! You made a beautiful baby show that mom body proud!!!
Girl, you're making the best decisions for your & your baby. I tried desperately & under so much pressure from nurses to breastfeed for 6 weeks - she never latched & I cried so much. Eventually a beautiful nurse visited me and said "We would rather have a sane mother, that is rested & can take care of her child." As soon as I switched to exclusively formula- my life got better. I'm a kindergarten teacher, and I always think- if I lined up all my students in a row, there is no way i could tell who was breastfed and who was bottle fed. PPD - be kind to yourself. It took 9 months for your belly to grow that big - its going to take longer for it to pull back - give yourself lots of love & care, and remember you have just taken your body through so much trauma. Slowly one day at a time, things seem lighter. You've got this ❤
I've given birth to 6 babies (ending with twins), My labors were 24 to 91 hours. 9 hours is quick, especially for a first baby. Beautiful baby. Worth every second. I always have loved Ergo wraps best.
My labor was long also. After 27 hours no epidural and after a while it was recommended because the doctor was afraid I’d have no energy to push. It took some 5 additional hours. But I get it because when that pain hits, it’s a lot to deal with so 9hrs of pain can feel like a lot.
Holy moly. It’s crazy that a woman’s body just DOES that. You are so strong and your baby is so beautiful!! Man, as a lady, it hurts to hear the pressure you feel about your baby belly. But I can only imagine. Just know that your fans think you’re a super hero and marvel at your journey. 🥺 hang in there!!
This makes me so happy. Years ago I stumbled upon this channel and you seemed so lonely by yourself in Japan. Now you’re married with a baby! ❤️ congratulations!
I know you are having "the baby blues" right now and it doesn't help with your body issues. You just created a human! You need to cut yourself some slack. Your tummy will eventually go down. If you have any issues in the future, there are exercises and other avenues to help correct it. Nothing is permanent, always remember that. Lots of love to you and your beautiful baby.
Kelly, please give your body time. It always took me months to even begin to find my new normal body! Lol And, who cares about bottle/breast? You know what’s best? You made the very best decision to feed your baby and give her the best nutrition you could! ❤ She is so adorable!!! I am so happy for you all!!💝
I'm crying 😭 thank you for sharing your journey with us! She is adoooorable! I can't imagine the pain you went through and your hubby enduring watching you go through that. So glad you're all ok!
Congratulations! Yeah, standing up to give birth (as I did with my third child) was WAY harder on my body than I ever would have thought. I too lost a lot of blood - actually borderline hemorrhaged which was very scary. So glad everyone is safe and healthy! Keep your vitamins B6, B12 and D going strong for mental health support. Yuna is beautiful
Congratulations to you and your husband! From one mumma to another, you are doing amazing. Also, proud of you for making the choice that is best for you and baby when it comes to feeding. I was an adoptee and only had formulas. Rest, enjoy and know that you are not alone in this journey. Postpartum is difficult and can have many forms. I had postpartum anxiety and rage, but found that the more I spoke with others, the better I felt cuz they had it too ❤
Congrats on baby Yuna;)) I had to pause it to say that I think you did excellent!! I also wanted to support your choice of not breastfeeding as I can relate to every word you said. I felt the same way. I was forced to do it and after two months I just quit as I was in so much physical pain on so many levels (apart from all the mental stuff that hit me), if I was to have a baby again I know how to advocate for myself better now and do what’s right for me. I’m happy you realized all that quickly on and chose what was working for you and didn’t give in. Your tummy will go away, just give it time, it’s normal for it to be like that for a while. It’s only been a month. You did great, Kelly, and so did Riyuji. Giving birth abroad with no close family around is not easy.
I was 38 hours in labor and ended up getting a C-Section because our baby was breech and didn't want to be birthed naturally. We were in the biggest hospital for natural breech birth in Europe (Germany, Frankfurt). After my surgery the doctors told us our daughter had her arm wrapped fixed around her neck with the umbilical cord, so a natural birth wouldn't have worked anyway. I am still thankful to have experienced labor, because due to health problems our daughter may be the only child my husband and I will have. We are hoping for more, but we were told about 2 years ago that we will never conceive a child, so she is a miracle ❤ Yuna looks so cute and healthy 😊 as you said fed is best. I do breastfeed, but I always wanted to, it is up to the parents to make that decision. As a nurse I can only say that as long as the baby is loved and cared for it doesn't matter in the long run if you feed breastmilk or formula.
Congratulations mama ❤️ I gave birth in Kobe 2 years ago and was alone in a room until they were ready to deliver the baby and then I was moved to another room with the doctors. No meds, just a raw, natural birth. It was... honestly so awful but worth it. I get it and am proud of you and so glad your past that part and can recover and have a beautiful new life with your baby. Don't push yourself it takes longer than I expected to recover and that's okay. ❤
Hey Kelly congrats! One thing most people won't tell you is that you have to give birth to the placenta after the baby comes out. So your situation isn't that strange! Saying this to comfort you not irritate you! Lol. You're a superwoman! Natural birth is no joke! Yuna is BEAUTIFUL 🥰Also, it takes a mama a year to heal from having a baby! Give you body time to bounce back! It's completely normal to look 6 months pregnant at 3 wks postpartum!
You are a Rockstar Kelly!! Luna is so beautiful!! I know how hard it was to admit that breastfeeding wasn't your thing that took guts to admit!! Enjoy that sweet baby and sending prayers for you and your family!!
Good job momma! You are a WARRIOR! The placenta part is the worst! No one prepares you for the “stomach massage” they Suprise you with. It’s like a second labor! 😫 Also, you noted on my biggest tip to first time labor. When you have to push, you can not NOT push. Your body does it on its own. My team made me push for hours my 1st babe…I was not ready. Second baby, it did it itself and I pushed 3 times!! You are right, it is running a marathon! And you got the #1 prize, an OUTSIDE baby!!! 💞
I got so emotional while watching this, I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant so meeting my daughter pretty soon as well. Yuna has the most perfect baby cheeks, so adorable!
Congratulations to both on your bundle of joy. Thank you sharing your birth journey. What a beautiful name. Yuna is adorable. Can’t wait to see more of her in future vlogs. ❤❤
It's normal not to remember much, your nody just takes over and does what it needs to do. So sorry to hear you had such a bad tear. I had that as well and the recovery is rough. Don't stress if someone says you need to be fully recovered now. It took me a long time and I mean a long time for the pain and later sensetivity in the scars to smooth over. And I heard more that had that. What your doctors say is the things you have to listen to. Also teh feeling of overwhelming and tireness , especially as a first time mom, is totally normal. Please don't feel any pressure to vlog or anything. Only do it if you want to! Abd enjoy, thorugh the tiredness and emotions, because looking back time goes fast and I sometimes regret it that I had to focus too much on my own recovery (because of a health issue I have) and not really took time to take it all in. And hands up here for another I didn't want to breastfeed mom. And my daughter is thriving. Yuna will grow up great.
Congratulations! Yuna is such a beautiful, perfect little baby. I'm so glad you decided to go with formula so quickly. I waited 6 weeks and it was awful. I barely made any milk and between breast feeding, bottle feeding, and pumping I was getting almost no sleep. It was miserable for everyone. Switching to all formula made such a huge difference in the quality of our lives. Fed is absolutely best!!
Thank you for sharing about your baby's feeding journey. You don't have to but I do appreciate that you are speaking out about this. It's not easy, it's really hard and moms get shamed for not breastfeeding. Mental health, being happy and enjoying your new baby is way more important. 💚
Congratulations❤ i found your channel when you announced your pregnancy and i was also just beginning my pregnancy.. my baby was born a week after yours ☺️
Congrats!!! So, so happy for you all! And happy to hear you had all that support. To be honest... I didn't, everibody, except for my husband, blamed me for not breastfeeding my baby... I wanted to, but couldn't because of some issues... and it was hard, and sad... but now she is almost 2 and has almost the same weight of a friends baby that is the same age. So, don't stress about things, take everiday as it comes, and enjoy your baby. And well done, motherhood suits so much!
This coming from a childless perspective (but I do have my niece), so my thoughts are meh on this but... You do you momma! Every mother will experience something different, and the fact that you aren't letting others tell you how 'best' to feed your baby is amazing! You're right FEED is Best! Also give yourself some credit, you're doing amazingly! It will take a bit for your physical body to return, but it will heal...remember that you're still healing! Be in the moment, enjoy those moments, and come what may. Congrats on your little one and may the future bring more beauty.
Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl! She's healthy and happy and you're both doing an amazing job as parents 😊 I'm glad you're taking care of your mental health, but please don't pressure yourself if things are moving slowly as its taken 9 months for your body and baby to develop. Your body will do its thing and help along the way ❤ We're all so proud of you ❤❤
Oh my god I didn't know you were even pregnant!! Congratulations! You're videos were so inspiring when I was in college, enjoy all the happy memories to come! ❤
You guys made a tiny Human! How cool is that? ❤ You know your body the best, and it is your choice...nobody else's. Welcome to this big, big world, you beautiful soul!
Watching this late but I'm so proud of you and has such heartwarming feelings watching this, having watched you go through so much and following you for years. I'm so happy for your small and beautiful family, wishing you all only the best!
Congratulations!!! Your baby is beautiful!! You did amazing!! Thank you for sharing your experience and being so honest about everything!! Please take care of yourself ❤
Congratulations . I love this video the baby is very beautiful. Now you need time . Time to recover and time get the feel of being a new mother . Don’t feel the pressure of making a ton of videos as I’m sure most of us understand what a change in your life and husbands life this is . For the way you feed your baby . It doesn’t matter .you do what you are comfortable with doing . Take care of yourself first emotional and physically. Until then congratulations to you both.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I faced so much pressure from some family members because I couldn’t breastfeed. It was awful. I tried to pump through the issues but I just exhausted myself and shortchanged my baby. After two weeks of this craziness a very wise and compassionate pediatrician told me to stop pumping and focus getting enough rest so I could enjoy my baby. She said no one would know or care when my kids grew up whether they were breastfed or not.
I gave birth to a 9.8 lbs baby boy and oh boy, I know all about 'em pouch and the tear lol. My mother anticipated this and bought me some type of underwear for post-partum, not a corset per se but something to help with the leftover pouch. Of course, I waited to ask my doctor if it's okay to wear. I did end up wearing them and they helped quite so. You're so lucky to have lost all the baby weight, it took me 2 years to lose my baby weight LOL. Girl, it's only been 3 weeks, it'll take awhile. Don't worry about your tummy, you're a mama now. Warrior mama. Congratulations to you and your family. Yuna is such a lovely name.
Just a reminder, it took 10 months to grow that baby so don’t stress about loosing it so soon. I felt the same after I had my son and he was over 8lbs. You’re body did such a beautiful thing and gave you such a beautiful girl. I’m so happy for you and your husband ❤
Give yourself some grace enjoy your baby don’t worry about your belly it will go down. I know we look in the mirror and we go wow but I promise you it’ll go away and if you’re breast-feeding, it will take care of it my daughters both had a belly after birth and they started breast-feeding and oh my God they got so skinny within a couple of months a few months it’s not gonna happen in a few weeks. I need to take care of yourself and make sure you give yourself or the nutrition that you need so you can take care of your beautiful baby.
Congratulations! Yuna looks so sweet! Sounds like you're making choices that make sense for you and your baby, which is what matters. Wishing you a good recovery. All the best to you and your family! ❤
Congratulations! How exciting and what a beautiful baby girl! One day at a time, Kelly! You know, better than anyone else, what is best for you and your daughter--your family. Enjoy the journey! We are just along for the wonderful ride!!1
Congradulations, don't worry about your body it will get back to normal, try not to keep keep your home to quiet so she gets used to sleeping through noise. My first baby was 9lbs15oz I was in labor for 48hrs. You will be a beautiful mom.
can't believe you just had a baby, Kelly you grew so much since I first found your channel :") I'm so proud of you and I hope I can achieve my goals one day too. much love to u and baby Yuna ❤❤
Take pressure off yourself. It took 9 months for that beautiful baby to grow and for your body to change. Give yourself the grace of at least that long before thinking about it. Your body is amazing and you will have your new normal to enjoy/ get used to 😊❤️
No pain killers, good job Mama! It's best for the baby too, as pain killers sedate the baby. I didn't choose to have any pain killers either with my sweet girl, so l have been there. You rock! But l know sometimes pain killers are just necessary, based on the birth, so not trying to offend anyone with that 🥰. Each birth is so different. I too had back labor, for 8.5 hours, so l feel for you. I was told it's from the efacement of the baby. I didn't want to breast feed either, like you. I have no regrets on that. It's good for daddy to be able to feed too & bond that way, plus to be able to measure the amount they are eating. You're doing just fine, keep it up!
Great job !! 9 hours for a first baby is really fast! My placenta with my first didn't come out in one piece so I remember the doctor shoving her hand up in me to get the rest of it and like you said it was SO AWFUL and very traumatic ! I'm pregnant with my 5th baby now and for me at least , the other 3 births went wayyyy better than the first . You're doing a great job!! Take it easy on yourself !
Those who demand perfection in editing -- and a following of only their opinions -- from someone who just pushed an entire (very cute!) human being out of her body are not worth listening tol! Thank you for sharing, and CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations mama ❤❤ you are doing great😊 and don’t worry about your belly. Speaking from experience it’ll take a few weeks for your organs to heal and return to where they were prior to baby. And your your body to recover ❤❤
Congratulations! She’s absolutely beautiful! Good job on your delivery!!! Your so much stronger than you think in those moments. I miss the newborn stage, such a fun stage. Enjoy your precious moments with your little one. 😊
Kelly please don't worry about your tummy. Your body is amazing and will go back to normal on its own time. Just worry about the basic needs for you and your baby right now. I know it's hard, I struggled very deeply with post partum depression for both of my children and it was a nightmare, but what's going on with your body is totally normal. Let nature work its magic and just keep feeding yourself and baby with wholesome, healthy meals. I would hate to think of you worrying about your appearance on top of the insanity of having a newborn!!!
Congrats on becoming a mom and your little family, I wish we could have one but my time has passed, and we don't have enough saved to have a baby. Hitting 40 babyless it is sad, but I got Ryuji and that's good to have.
I'm a NICU RN and I want to praise you for making the right feeding choice for you and your baby. Happiest moment of Mimi’s life! She’s perfect to us and I’m so proud of you! You are a warrior and an inspiration. You did it!
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. May you and your baby be healthy.

You are a Rockstar Kelly!! Luna is so beautiful!! I know how hard it was to admit that breastfeeding wasn't your thing that took guts to admit!! Enjoy that sweet baby and sending prayers for you and your family!!
Don’t push yourself. You are beautiful.
Good job momma! You are a WARRIOR!
The placenta part is the worst! No one prepares you for the “stomach massage” they Suprise you with. It’s like a second labor! 😫
Also, you noted on my biggest tip to first time labor.
Awwwwwie...she's so precious. Beautiful. 💝
I got so emotional while watching this, I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant so meeting my daughter pretty soon as well. Yuna has the most perfect baby cheeks, so adorable!
Imagine the dedication to still setting up camera and produce video content while giving birth.
Congratulations to both on your bundle of joy. Thank you sharing your birth journey. What a beautiful name. Yuna is adorable. Can’t wait to see more of her in future vlogs. ❤❤
Such a beautiful baby! Yuna is a pretty name. Hoping you get your strength back soon. You've been through alot!❤
Omg congratulations!!!!
I cannot believe my eyes you have a baby now !!❤
It's normal not to remember much, your nody just takes over and does what it needs to do.
All the best to Momma and baby. Welcome to the world Yuna May!
Congratulations to all of you. She is a beautiful baby. You and your husband will be great parents. GBY!
Thank you for sharing about your baby's feeding journey. You don't have to but I do appreciate that you are speaking out about this. It's not easy, it's really hard and moms get shamed for not breastfeeding. Mental health, being happy and enjoying your new baby is way more important. 💚
Congrats on the birth! Glad you & baby Yuna are doing well. Congrats to you & Ryuji on being parents & having this precious one in your guys life.
Congratulations❤ i found your channel when you announced your pregnancy and i was also just beginning my pregnancy.. my baby was born a week after yours ☺️
Congratulations! Yuna is such a cutie 🥰 and you mama are a warrior, I know the feeling 😁💪
Congrats to all of you! Yuna is a beautiful name and her cheeks!! So precious. Wishing you a healthy, strong recovery ❤🥰
Congratulations on new baby ❤🎉😊from California
Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl! She's healthy and happy and you're both doing an amazing job as parents 😊
I'm glad you're taking care of your mental health, but please don't pressure yourself if things are moving slowly as its taken 9 months for your body and baby to develop. Your body will do its thing and help along the way ❤
We're all so proud of you ❤❤
Your baby is absolutely adorable
Oh my god I didn't know you were even pregnant!! Congratulations! You're videos were so inspiring when I was in college, enjoy all the happy memories to come! ❤
You guys made a tiny Human! How cool is that? ❤ You know your body the best, and it is your choice...nobody else's. Welcome to this big, big world, you beautiful soul!

So happy for you and your family! I’m 5 months pregnant and you have been a huge inspiration for me from the beginning!
Thank you for uploading the birth video in Japan its so rare that we could take video in hospitals 😢 but we got information from you ❤
Congratulations .
Congrats! Your baby beautiful! Please dont put so much pressure on your self its only been 3 weeks the belly will shrink over time
Congratulations! Yuna looks so sweet! Sounds like you're making choices that make sense for you and your baby, which is what matters. Wishing you a good recovery. All the best to you and your family! ❤
You are an amazing warrior and your daughter will be also. Congratulations!

Congratulations take care of yourself 🥰
Congratulations to you both.
She is absolutely beautiful!!!
Such a beautiful baby. Congrats
Your body is amazing and you will have your new normal to enjoy/ get used to 😊❤️
I"m due in the next three weeks. :) anytime now for my baby girl. HUGS your vlog made me cry!!!I In a good way :)
You're doing just fine, keep it up!
congratulations kelly and to your husband 🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations!.. Yuna is so beautiful🥰
So happy to see you and your new baby!!!! You did it!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Congratultions!!
Congrats you guys! Lol I understand what you mean by big baby, I had an 8.5lbs boy 6 months ago 😵💫 you’re doing so good and she’s adorable 🥰
Congratulations 🎉
Congratulations mama ❤❤ you are doing great😊 and don’t worry about your belly. Speaking from experience it’ll take a few weeks for your organs to heal and return to where they were prior to baby. And your your body to recover ❤❤
Congratulations!!!!!!! I'm so happy for all three of you. Also that's a lovely name.
Congratulations to you both, she’s just beautiful … take your time , be present and enjoy💕
Congratulations!! She’s so pretty. ❤
She’s adorable 🫶🏻and seems very content
Beautiful baby. Congratulations! And good for you on your decision that works best for you. Don’t feel guilty. You doing a great job new momma❤❤
Congrats on becoming a mom and your little family, I wish we could have one but my time has passed, and we don't have enough saved to have a baby. Hitting 40 babyless it is sad, but I got Ryuji and that's good to have.
I had my first baby at 40 so if it’s what you want don’t give up. If you are happy then just enjoy your life. Either way life is good.
Congratulations on your new family member. Wishing all of you the best of health. I am very happy for you guys!! Good fortune be with you.
🎀Yuna Mei is precious. I am so happy for you all!💗💞
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Enjoy every moment of being a mother.
