Are people really complaining because he plays it faster live than on the album? I don't want to sound old but how times have changed. I guess it's to be expected with every band playing to a click with a full backtrack going these days (which i'm a fan of too), but one of the best things about seeing a band live used to be seeing them play the fast parts faster and the heavy parts heavier.
Met these dudes at my home bar a couple years ago. The drummer was different. Harvest Floor is one of my favorite albums; Travis' vocals are absolutely orgasmic

Lot's of guys like to play their parts faster live, Inferno is known to speed up Slaves Shall Serve, Despised Icon sped up most of their live sets. Its common, plus it is live. I pay to see the bands enjoy themselves, not to listen to robots play everything perfectly. Get your head outta your ass and enjoy Dave and Cattle.
Number one: Its Cattle. They want a raw sound live and have a different sound live than the records. They slow some parts down and even speed some parts up. And not only that click tracks can go wrong. Like Animals As Leaders having to stop their set 4 times due to lagging click tracks

I've noticed Dave is terrible at timing when it comes to the fast parts. part of being a good death metal drummer is not only fast blasts and double bass, but keeping it in time. Anyone can go fast. Doing it steady at prolonged periouds of time and keeping your band on time is key, you can hear in this video, and the forced gender reassignment video, he messed up the guitarist by jumping 30-40bpm out of nowhere for a few seconds
Dave has repeatedly talked about how he's had ZERO formal instruction - therefore, such things might be outside his perspective. It is genuinely hilarious to see all the armchair youtube critics come out en masse, criticizing someone who isn't wasting away in front of their respective computing agent. Oh, and here's a tip, just in case you're slightly offended by my message. Dave's personal email is out there, available to all - so I'd suggest sending your message there first, instead of looking for support on RUclips.

It's great and awesome but i dont understand how the douple bass was managed because i see two kickdrums with one mic and he aint use double bass pedal so wtf? but as i told this kinda live performance is fuckin' great!
cause he's using triggers, you don't really need mics on the drums when you have triggers unless you're blending the natural sound with the triggered sound.
***** i think they are way better live than most of the bands who play to a click track. mostly the bands fuck up because they try to hard to keep up with the click and it gets way more sloppy

+RealDisturbed He is playing double strokes. The notes that his feet play don't have to match the singles on snare or the rest of the kit. The idea of doubles is that you mimic a downwards single stroke, but other details (bass drum head tension, pedal spring tension, beater distance from head, type of beater etc.) allow the beater to quickly include a follow up note to the downward stroke(must be triggered). Yes, he's not directly synchronized to his hands. That's the beauty of doubles! Provides a tighter, cleaner performance without having to completely expend all your energy on ripping single strokes all night/tour. Cheers, man

I have seen alot of bands that use clicktracks, and they've never had to stop because of that

Well, anything can fil. Amplifiers, mics, pickups, the list goes on. Using a clicktrack doesn't make that risk that much greater

Yup, Heel-Toe for the faster parts. It saves a tremendous amount of energy and makes the faster parts way easier to play.
