    The guitar and keyboard unison solo in this song is one of my favourite moments in all of the music I've listened to

      Lul, I thought it was a guitar with synth doubling octave pedal this whole time 🙈🙈🙈🙈

    Very underrated indeed. It's One of the first songs from them that I would point to, if I had to disregard their usual favorites, though.

    Can’t wait to hear your reaction to “Faith in Others,” one of Opeth’s most powerful, Pink Floyd 2.0 songs from the Pale Communion album :]

    Man, I forgot about this song, to m ugh shame. You couldn't have said it better. I can't tell you how much fun this is, every day I get more excited to go see them!

    I dare to say : Opeth is a highly musician's choice.
    You seem to devour this album. Great taste of music!

    epic song from opeth!

    Hey man, I'm glad you finally got around to it! I'm glad to see you agree about the underrated nature of the song. No one seems to mention it or give it the love it deserves, but it's a real journey with some neat polyrhythms, timbre variance, and dynamic changes (like all Opeth, haha). Given your tastes, I have to recommend that you check out Animals As Leaders soon. There aren't a lot of reaction videos for them in general, but they are pioneering the prog metal genre in many directions, and I can't imagine you could dislike them. It might even be worth reacting to the videos to see them perform because the three members sound like 10. Anyway, I appreciate your deep dive into Opeth, and I look forward to your videos to come!

      And I know AAL well. TA one of the best guitarist o. The plantet.

    • @ibrahimutant
      @ibrahimutant 5 лет назад +1

      Since you appreciate Opeth and AAL, I have to suggest Tigran Hamasyan. Possibly the most gifted musician alive. He's an Armenian jazz pianist who has been described as piano-djent. He is epic, and spans the widest breadth of genres I've ever heard, even beyond Opeth. Songs like The Grid and Entertain Me are so heavy, and he has one whole album that is almost prog metal called Red Hail. The live performance of What the Waves Brought is also a popular classic.

    One of my favorites on the album! It's just highly accessible and fun.

  • @TheSynking

    My third favourite song from the album, after Ghost of Perdition and Harlequin Forest. I don't get why people never mention it, it's fairly accessible with some nice solos and vocal lines from Mikael.

  • @КарлБишоп

    Second most beautiful song from this album after Ghost Of Perdition!

  • @scyphe
    @scyphe 5 лет назад +4

    I prefer the second half of the song which is just mind-blowing. I'm not so keen on the first part which ends at around 2:45 in this reaction video. Overall I like it but compared to most of the other songs on the album it's not as cohesive and imho constructed as well. Again, my subjective opinion. That jazzy/fusion prog that starts ~4:03 in your video makes me hooked beyond any limits.

    • @alecvanderheyden3463
      @alecvanderheyden3463 4 года назад

      The singing after that 4:03 point, the way he starts off the vocal line reminds me of one of the acoustic parts in black rose immortal, so I hear that every time it kinda ruins it for me hahahahah

    I know you posted this a while ago but this great tune is kinda like a B-side to The Baying of the Hounds. If you read the lyrics and listen, they work so well together because they tell the same occult story.

    Not as good as Baying of the Harlequin Ghost, but still pretty great. Also, the sequence running at 4:37-5:08 is very reminiscent of a part of a Black Sabbath song (maybe several?), though I can't recall exactly which one. The solo style, the guitar sound, the music.

    In every single solo on this album,the keyboard played the same notes of the lead guitar, making the melody more effective.

      You couldn't be more wrong!
      I don't even know if Opeth would want this to be true.
