it certainly worked for a short period but the rattle did come back, however I take it as reassurance that the valve has not clogged up with carbon. plus I think the rebuild has gave my bike a quieter rattle. my honest opinion is that if you have a kdx, then just live with the rattle. thanks for the comment.
I'd say any year, it's something I've allways noticed with most kawasakis, but any doubt then just do a top end rebuild and check piston to cylinder clearance. It's rare to get piston slap from a worn cylinder as most cylinders on the kdx/kx are nickel silicone carbide plated. So do not hone the cylinder or scuff it with corse paper or cloth.
How has the mod turned out? I saw your other riding video and didn't hear the KIPS rattle. Thank you for posting this.

Try nylon washers. Let me know how you go.
What years have the rattle cause my 90’ is rattling and I’m not sure if it’s piston slap

what was your mod to quiet down the power valves
just the o-ring, it may of lasted a lot longer if I used a high temperature o-ring.
Someone said its suppose to rattle, and if it doesnt it means the power valve is gunked up. Mine is barely noticeable so is that bad?
could be more likely that your engine hasn't got much wear. if it was stuck I would say you'd notice a major lack of power
