    Perfect! My '11 started doing this the other day and, while I knew it was something to do with the doors for ventilation, I wasn't sure what was causing it. Looks like I'll have a quick little project to do on the weekend. Naturally, it's below freezing here now, so that will be fun. ;-)

    Awesome video. How did you pinpoint which one of the three actuators wasn't working? Would it have been easier to access it through the dashboard where the other two are located? Did you ever change the other two? If yes, do you have a video for that? Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  7 лет назад +1

      Ahmed Saidu-Kamara
      if you watch my other videos, you'll see I ended up replacing two actuators. when a tooth on the internal gear breaks the faulty actuator makes a sound and you can actually feel it hitting the casing by placing your hand on it. Removing tbe dashboard is not practical since you would have to remove way too many parts including the airbags to remove it.

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Roberto Rivera, Not sure if just replacing them would do it if the actuator is actually working. In the case of the Charger, it has three actuators (on behind the glove box and two behind the instrument panel), and when the one behind the glove box was making noise, i took it out and tested by hand the movement of the flap it moves to make sure it was moving freely before finally realizing the Dodge/Chrysler plastics are just junk and that's why it keeps breaking. If one of the flaps is getting stuck then that could be your problem.
      Best of luck to you

    Question for you please, I need the name of the actuator on the drivers side soo I can know which one it is the person that replaced it swamped it with one of the ones from the passenger side I know on passenger side it’s one straight ahead and it’s one to the side behind glove box but I would really appreciate it if you knew which ones they were

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  6 лет назад

      Hassan Williams All 3 actuators are the same part #. The part I listed on the passenger side replacement is the same with the exeption of one on the driver's side having a housing that has to be removed with it in order to be able to take it out. Good luck

    • @hassanwilliams489
      @hassanwilliams489 6 лет назад

      Juan Castro are they all interchangeable? So a buddy of mine replaced the two on the passenger side , he replaced one by mistake that wasn’t knocking it was the one on the drivers side so he took the one on drivers side out , and replaced it with the one that he did by mistake now the one on drivers side is still knocking and the recirculation button works when it want and it still knocks I was wondering did he put the wrong one there , or can they all be swapped and do the same thing I ordered one for drivers side it will be on Monday or is each one a specific one

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  6 лет назад

      Hassan Williams I has 3 of them. In my Charger I took appart the entire dashboard on another video I posted, because I wanted to make sure there wasn't another one I was missing. I bought all three at the dealer for about $30 each and no more headaches. Well, for now, it's dodge plastic so it's crap right out of the dealer.

    I have a dodge magnum 2005 2.7L. Just recently the driver side is blowing out cool air, and the passenger is blowing out colder air. Could this be the same issue you were having? Replacing the actuators can fix this problem? Thank you

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  5 лет назад

      Chris. That's very likely the problem. One of the actuators is the one that blends the air. Before replacing it make sure the AC is fully charged because some times a small leak or the AC Dryer can have the same symptom. Good luck

    • @Whodie305
      @Whodie305 5 лет назад

      Yes i did, i purchased a recharge ac boost. Once i plugged it in, it says fully charged on green. Also i forgot to mention that i hear no clicking noise at all. Since i feel it warmer on driver side does that mean the driver side actuator isnt working correctly?

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  5 лет назад

      @@Whodie305 you're going to have to get in there and check if the air blend door is not stuck. It's a pain, but that could be the problem.

      Sorry, my car wasn't blowing warm air. The actuator was not working properly and it was making a clicking sound. If your car is blowing warm air, start by checking your refrigerant pressure first.

    • @juancastro6934
      @juancastro6934  8 лет назад

      I had that problem with another one of my cars and I ended up having to replace the compressor and other parts. Depending on your car and your comfort level when working with AC, you might need the Compressor, accumulator and depending on your vehicle the orifice tube (and inline mesh filter). The first thing I would do is check the refrigerant level to see if it's low.

    • @juancastro6934

      Peter Lopez , the car has three actuators and from my understanding they direct the airflow as well as the blending of heat and cold. If you take it out the flaps/doors they control will stay in whatever position it's left and it might interfere with the working actuators' flow. They're not very expensive and the work was relatively easy. Best of luck.

      I have another video showing the location and replacement of the other 2 actuator under the instrument panel. If your heater core as well as water temperature are operating properly then it could be one of the other actuators. Here's a description of their functions as described by Dodge's service manual "A temperature control determines the discharge
      air temperature by operating the blend door actuator(s), which moves the blend-air door(s). This allows an almost
      immediate control of the output air temperature of the system. The mode door actuator operates the mode-air doors
      which direct the flow of the conditioned air out the various air outlets, depending on the mode selected. The recirculation
      door actuator operates the recirculation-air door which closes off the fresh air intake and recirculates the air
      already inside the vehicle."
      Best of luck.

    Does anyone know how to recalibrate the actuator without having to go to the dealership...I replaced the blend door actuator but there's still a clicking noise coming from the AC every time I put it on defrosts mode

      Jose Aguirre There ia no reseting of of the vent. you can actually move the vent flap manually towards the back or front. Just make sure it matches the position of the actuatot. Best of luck

      There's a guy here on youtube with a dodge avenger that says there's not one but TWO vent actuators behind the glove box. I have to assume our Chargers have a couple of them also. You may have changed the wrong one. The avenger owner says the 1st one he change was also the wrong one.

      Niners4Lyphe I changed the right one 2 times already, now I'm headed to my 3rd one. And I also changed the fuse under the hood. Why is it still doing it.

      4 total. 2 per side. One for each zone of hot and cold, one for defrost, and one for recirculation that works with the humidity sensor that is on your windshield behind your rear view mirror.

    Why are people saying its the same game? Yes, it's the same core mechanics, but why the fuck would they change that?? They've added so may things to the game, and each cod has significant differences that are unique to that installation in the franchise. Please tell me the things they haven't changed and (this is the important part) why they should change them/what the change should be. And just so no one comments saying "your just an idiot fan boy!" I actually love battlefield as well and I didn't even buy Ghosts, and there are definitely things I don't like about cod, but I hate to see people say that its the same game every year and thats why they're not gonna play it. Was it not a fun game back in the good old days of cod 4, mw2, and black ops? why would they deviate from the things that people love about the game? And how is battlefield not the same game? How many changes were made from Battlefield 3 to Battlefield 4?
