Oh lordy that was fun. We had a picture frame fall off the wall over the fireplace onto the tiles and shatter. I think you could hear Tommy sweeping the glass up a little bit but I wanted to finish filming before I helped 😆

Great recap, fun stitching as usual. I also appreciate your gentle reminder to folks to pause and reflect before going over the top with exchange packages. I love Ursula LeGuins Earthsea books for the reasons you touched on in discussing Tehanu. Although some have aged better than others, placed in their context at time of writing, I believe LeGuin did an excellent job of addressing various social issues within assorted fantasy worlds. For a completely different reading experience, have you read any of the Murderbot books? They are fun sci-fi mysteries with a snarky cyborg as main character who also loves soap operas. Thanks for another fun flosstube.

So glad you agree about LeGuin! I definitely think I can't read her books all the time just because they are so thought-provoking, but I also definitely think they're the sort of thoughts we should be having.
Nope, I've not read Murderbot! They're on my (way too large) TBR list, but I definitely will try to move them up because that sounds super fun! Sometimes authors try to write snarky characters and end up just seeming to throw too many pop culture references at you thinking they're the same thing somehow, so I'm always hesitant about those books lol. But I'll give most things a try!

I prefer stiching to finishing as well. I've really got to get caught up on Deadly Aquarium. It was my first year at Frogwarts this year, it can be intimidating when you don't know anyone.

Yeah I literally have zero hope of catching up on Deadly Aquarium at this point lol, it is what it is. I hope you had a great first Frogwarts experience!
