One of the things I am rabid about is artists of every sort SIGNING and dating their works. For eons we women have been made to feel like our art is 'just women's work' and so many beautiful historical items are not signed or dated, which drives historians mad. I implore everyone to sign/date everything, even the smallest or practice pieces. BTW, I think those book covers are exquisite and as a junk journal maker, I can hardly wait to start one.
You are so bad!!! I now have more hobbies!! I LOVE slow stitching - have made a couple of book covers, also loving goldwork - not brave enough to design my own pattern, am going to start crewel work as well. I may need a note for my boss - they keep insisting that I work!!! xx
Such great ideas! Im excited about these ideas for my grand children- tea dyed was great and old sari - were so pretty! Love your teaching abd show what we can do! Thank you! Your my inspiration!💕❤️
I am making lots of squares of different Sashiko patterns at the moment and would love to turn them into a sampler book. A book tutorial / class would be wonderful.
I thought your second slow stitched book was especially beautiful! How lucky that you found that lovely piece with the flowers! You pieced everything together so beautifully. I love slow stitching and have made many journal covers that have had slow stitching. Once I discovered slow slow stitching, I immediately began embellishing my work with it! 😃❤️
I love making junk journals and I wanted to do some embroidery to use in different ways. Cross stitching used to be my thing long ago and I have a ton of floss. 😄 So glad to find your channel. You are an excellent teacher and it is so helpful to refer to your tutorials. Thank you.
Thank you for teaching me all I needed to know to begin my embroidery journey Sarah. I'm getting to the stage now where I have pieces of work and no idea what to do with them so this is a great idea.
I've been wanting to make an embroidered book for such a long time. It's a great idea and a wonderful way to use up all the samples one makes. Thank you so much for sharing.
I watched your poppy vlog several times because I was so fascinated by the whole process, from walking through the poppy field to the end of making the book. I never thought of making a book out of embroidery but is such a great idea. I asked my sister, who is a burgeoning artist if she would mind making a drawing of her anemones which she was glad to do. Oh, and by the way, the music on the poppy vlog was my favorite background music......please do more of these. Thank you as always.💌
Thank you Sarah, I have always been fascinated by all the various little books you have occasionally wafted in front of us, and also I did see the lovely one with the poppies at the time, but it was really helpful to see this, and see what options there are to make books, and exactly how to go about it, so once again I am completely inspired, and as ever you have given me the confidence to try something I wouldn't normally have tried!. Thank you very much😺💙
I still haven't started my slow stitch sampler. I wanted to have a plan of sorts of what to work toward. Yesterday I finally decided to use my slow stitch sampler to make a new bible cover for the bible I carry to church. It's smaller and much lighter weight than my study bible which doesn't need a cover. My bible bible stays at home. Having somewhat of a plan will help me know where to avoid placing anything too fussy or dimensional on the back or where the binding bends. I'm going to watch your lettering video so I can stitch a couple favorite scriptures. My current cover is quite dirty and ugly, IE a really durable synthetic canvas type that is strictly functional. Really tired of it. I want everything I wear or carry to be beautifully embroidered now.
Hi Sarah I would be interested in learning more about creating a book cover, I'm currently stitching pages for a 2023 embroidery book and have been thinking of how I will create the cover thank you. Loved this video too ❤️
Ik heb u net ontdekt Ik heb alleen kruissteek gedaan. Maar wat u doet is prachtig. Ik zou het heel leuk vinden als u een tutorial maakt voor het maken van borduurboek.
Yep that would be cool an online course as it was very intriguing. I also love to experiment too and thanks for sharing your beautiful embroidery projects 😀😍 do you need to use a medium on the fabric first before painting by the way?
The idea of a class to create a book is exciting! Yes Sarah, please plan a class. You are an excellent teacher. I have learned much from you. ❤️❤️
Thank you Tricia!
This has inspired me in a way I can’t explain. Have watched three times.
Beautiful Font of S!

Water color paper for sheets in yr journal in zig zag
Called concertina sheets
Concertina is zig zag of sheets so they are always hatched
Wow! Love this idea! Thank you!

I didn't realise I did 'wafting' Rebecca! :) I love making books and covers, I need to spend more time working in the books though!
Actually Sarah, thinking about it, you're quite right, "wafting" is completely the wrong word!, "enticing" is what I really meant!!!
😁

I paint straight on; fabric paint is a good one to try first though as it's made for the job!
