Watching this nodding my head fully well knowing the gear bag in my car has several unimaginable odors inside just waiting to assault someone.
Just bought some sparring gear for the first time and now I know how to take care of them. Thanks!
Glad to help! We also just posted a video on how to get started with sparring if you're looking for some tips 👊
@@CombatCultureUSA Actually yes. I am 42 years old and just got into my first dojo in September. I already tried sparring in gear once and it was cumbersome and very difficult. I need conditioning, Sensei is helping me with that. It's a lot of hard work.
Great info. Much appreciated!
Super helpful since I will be consistently going to kickboxing classes and Muay Thai classes ‘
Nice video! The only thing is that leaving the leather gear to dry in the sun is not ideal because it will crack or brittle the leather over time... it's better to put them in front of the fan to ventilate them and the handwraps you can put them in a delicate wash bag and throw them in the dryer
Life saver! Thank you for the information!
Love your videos a lot super informative and they help a ton!!
Glad you enjoyed the video! There's more on the way!
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL ❤❤❤
Thanks a lot, I love your videos man, keep it up ! :)
Appreciate the love, more videos to come!
I like to have multiple of all my gear so I can rotate it out. I also go into the shower after the workout and rinse all my sweaty clothes and ring them out before I head home then hang them up to dry so they wont get moldy. You can use an old pillowcase for your handwraps as well.
Your backyard is perfect
Aw shit, im loving these videos, keep going ma man👊
It is good also to use antibacterial wipes as well. At least the moisture from the antibacterial wipes would help with the cleaning. With the clothing, I would hand wash them and soak them in the bucket to deodorise them and then would hang them up to dry.
You hang your hands to dry 😂😂
Good video. I'm still new to muay thai and I've been trying to keep my gear relatively clean. I've sparred with people whose gloves smelled so bad it made me gag. But maybe that's their defensive tactic! Lol
nice tips. any possibility of giving a rundown of the various STYLES of muay thai? like actually go through EACH & describe the DIFFERENCES between them IN DETAIL. it'll serve to clear up a lotta confusion regarding the art. thanks.
Boot dryer works like magic, I had a pair of gloves that started stinking quite badly, spray a bit of alcohol inside and after 2 session of the boot dryer it completely eliminated the smell
Thanks for this video, could you do a buying guide for a beginner
Whats the thing in the background that holds all the bags called?
Dude, what heavy bag stand is that in the background?
What type of vinegar do you use? and is rubbing alcohol okay to use for the first few cleans for my thai pads, gloves and shin pads? its been 5 months since i got my hand wraps and they're already tearing. wish this video came out earlier lol.
Might dry out the rubber parts. Better you use some natural anti allergic vinegar solution. That works for me. And you can even make it at home.
How should you go about cleaning your head gear
Hey man I just earned my gloves yesterday, hella stoked and, after using them for the first time I wasn't sure how to clean 'em so I just tried airing them out but didn't put any socks in them and didn't have any newspaper was that fine? Also I don't yet know any places that sell the cleaning gear spray, would it be fine to just dampen a cloth with water and wipe them down or would that cause damage? Thanks for the video it was great!
I think the key is to air them thoroughly everytime, i have done that and nothing special otherwise and my gloves smell fresh. The bacteria will start growing if you forget to do that even once.
Do you bring your bags hanging out there inside when it rains?
main takeaway of the video: "there's no going back" 🤣🤣
I scrub my mouth gaurd with mouth wash
After I finish training I put all my staff outside with the velcro on so the dry out.then I throw in a washing bag my handwraps and my knuckle guards after the finish I put them out to dry. Then I clean my shorts without them drying in the machine and then I was the mouthguard and I olso but my trainning bag out with all the pockets open to move the sweat. Is that good?
100%
Can i eat the rice tho?
Dude ofc bro the gloves make the rice warm and moist, perfect for eating👌🔥💯
Duh. All the bacteria gently coddles the rice and keeps it warm for when you return. Thank the bacteria for taking such good care of your rice next time.
I do; I have OCD and am addicted to cleaning. That is gross if you do not clean inside.
thanks so much! i always just take my gear for a shower
can I just blow dry the glove seem easier than newspaper also I don't have any
just a guess but it’s probably best to absorb the moisture, then disinfect, then let it dry. Rather than just drying the wet bacteria trapped inside. Pull as much out as possible first probably
bro where do you get your bags from, i wanna by a multi functional pack of different bags for training at home
Mostly from Amazon, some from Title
Thank you for replying but can you give me a name or link of the bag, love your videos I’m a new follower but I know you know what ur talking about

wipe them down with water? or just dry?
Vaseline
Why I can't just put them in washing machine
But no one talks about cleaning the cups?
Those are easy to clean. Remove cup, wash like undies and the cup like a dish
Simple you let it air out after every use
I can’t help thinking this guy looks like the Asian version of Jeremy Renner
Cool sleeves!!! U single?? 🤭🤭
Is it just me, or foes anyone else clean their mouth gaurd with toothpaste instead of soap ?
I even leave some toothpaste in it, makes me fresh during training xD
Fighters aren’t princess, come on dude who cleans the inside of their gloves
clean people?!
It’s not a question about being a princess.. when you have to throw away an expensive pair after a couple of months of use because of the smell, you’ll learn to keep your stuff clean
I mean if you're dropping like £80 up to like £120 on gloves who tf wouldn't keep them clean?
Oh i know you're musty af
This just show me ye all 1. have never fought and 2. do Muay Thai/kickboxing/boxing as a leisure activity🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
