Thank you, Carrie!! This is my most favorite tutorial of all (from all educators.) I've been struggling with making open spirals and I appreciate your taking the time to explain it slowly and carefully. I'm actually legally blind and have to do my work through a magnifier, but I enjoy it so much. Your videos are always fun to watch! I, too, have hammered the side of my index finger, not to the point of cutting it open, but I definitely know the pain! My recommendation for this is to hold it down with a small piece of dowel or popsicle stick in order to keep your fingers out of the way. I also struggle with holding the little "fiddly" pieces together while wiring them & what works for me is to use the SMALL metal clamps that are shaped like clothespins but have the rubber coating on the handle and on the tip. They don't scar the wire because of the rubber and they hold very tightly if you can get it across to hold the two pieces together. That way I can use both my hands to wire wrap while the clip does the holding. Thanks, again, so much for the WONDERFUL tutorial!🤗
As a newbie to wire wrapping, I love your detailed verbal descriptions and the close ups in your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents!💝
@@suzystripe6492 yes! It really is overlooked in favor of gold and silver, but people are missing out on the natural changes and characteristics of the metal. So beautiful!
I love your thorough descriptions of every step. I can see how you could add some other basic shapes to the three you have come up with. I like it! Thanks.
Aww, this just blessed my heart to hear. Spring is just around the corner. Imagine in now.. the first relatively warm day, your face towards the sun, birds chirping and warmer days on the way. It’s not too far away, BTW I hate winter 😂😂😂
Carrie these are so cute. The one you where holding in the opening reminded me of a hair design with a pin. Popular way back when. Thank you for your video
Beautiful ideas! I actually use a very old nose pliers, over 70 years-old made of iron, but It was so used before that It's perfect 4 me ❤LOVE your Index ring!❤

@@tishsmiddy71 did you see the pinned comment where a viewer uses rubber tipped clamps! Why oh why have I not thought of that? 🤯 then I just happened to see TikTok and some wooden tool they were holding the wire with and apparently there’s a specific wooden clamp for rings and wire. It’s in my Amazon cart. 👍😎
I love the shapes I can do them it’s the rapping of the wire I can’t seem to get I think I just don’t have the patience for it . I have a pair of earrings I have been trying to make and I gave up on the wire rapping part.
I know what you mean. Another viewer had a great tip to hold the pieces with a rubber tipped clamp. Why I never thought of that I have no idea. You could try that and see if you have easier control. I appreciate your sharing with me your struggles. 🤗💚🧡
At 2:32 of your transcript you said you use a nylon pliers. That's not what you were using. You were using a zero pliers with a very small tip cause you wanted a really small loop. Which plier was that?
@@wallspatty sorry, I often get things mixed up when I’m talking. I have so many ideas to share. They’re round nose, but very small. Hi! I will tumble the individual items first and then wire them together with the 24g or whichever is suitable. I have tumbled items that have been wrapped with the thinner gauge, I simple did it for less time, and not pieces made of multiple parts. It would be one made frame and one mounted stone for example. I should put one of these in just to test it. I’m always experimenting! ⚗️🧪😂
Hi! I love your work... I was wondering about what kind of copper wire you use? Mine usually loses the shine in a week or so, and I have to keep it in a ziploc bag to slow tarnishing(slow, but it doesn't stop it).
Hi! And thank you! As for the wire, I use bare wire but I put at least one coating (preferably 2-3) of Protectaclear. But all my rings they wear in the videos have nothing in them and I’ve been wearing them for months, since summer I think, and they look great. I think for bare unprotected copper simply wearing the piece all the time and/or cleaning regularly with dish soap is the key. The bracelet on my wrist had nothing on it either but I wear it all the time through showers and everything. It supposedly is good for you to have copper on your skin anyway for the mineral properties (don’t quote me on that) so I don’t worry about wearing it all the time. 🤗💚✨🧡
@carriefoscatodesign Thank you so much for responding! I'll have to check if Protectaclear is available where I am, I'd love it if you could recommend some other coats?
