Nolan N70-2 X Review - More than just an Adventure Helmet

- The Nolan N70-2X is multiple helmets in one! It can be worn as a traditional peaked adventure helmet or a Street Helmet, but with its clever removable chin bar, it can also be an open-face street, or peaked trial style helmet. In fact, there are eight configurations in total. Thats all well and good, but how does the helmet perform where it matters, out on the road?

I am 1.82 riding on a Tenere 700 with stock windscreen and using the exact same helmet and I have no issues. The only inconvenient for me is the peak design esthetic compared to other adventure helmets.
Have exactly the same N70 helmet and never noticed any “vibration” issues (riding a CB500X).
Hi, I has been riding with the Nolan for about two years now and I can’t say that I have noticed any vibration at all. I am just about to go on a one month tour of Europe so I hope I don’t get tuned into it now I’ve watched your review. 🤪🤪🤪
Thank you
You're welcome
How does a problem like the peak vibrating even get through the development process without being noticed?
Makes me wonder if the peak was an add-on to a platform that was originally intended to be a city helmet?
yes
I really like my N70 and mainly use it in jet config sans chinbar in summer temps behind screen of CRF300L Rally. Love it! The peak on my helmet does not vibrate annoyingly, but pretty sure you can adjust the angle. I suggest adjusting it for less attack (more streamlined). I've used it while riding my '22 Africa Twin Base and find the extra drag of the peak to be annoying at the higher motorway speeds, so use an N100-5 modular most often, but still no vIbRaTiOn issue for that bike at high speeds. The helmet is in clean air on my AT.
Thanks, I've tried it at various angles with no noticeable difference. I don't get clean air on the ATAS, due to the taller screen, even when its in the lower position.
With the chin guard in place how does it compare noise wise with other modular helmets.
I dont think the chin section makes any difference to noise on this helmet
I have been using the Nolan n70-2 for the last 2 year and it a good helmet but a bit heavy .......also the spring loaded drop down is good but spring get loose with time. In the city the open face removable is very good . I do not use the peak since I ride road mostly. I do like this helmet and I use my Sena with it. on 6.5 on 10 ... I currently have shoei, scorpion, Touratek/Nexx , and 2 Nolan Alain & Yellow
They’re good value for money, Nolan helmets.
Thanks for the feedback
Don't know if anyone else noticed but at 54 seconds in, a cat appears from the hedge!
Congratulations, you win the ‘spot the cat’ prize! 😂👍
I didn't notice it at the beginning, but I did see it at 5:21 where the same footage is repeated. I wondered if it was a cat or even possibly a fox.
Oh dear the vibrating peak is a no for me.
