    The knicks actually had unselfish teamwork and good flow with their passing while Lin was on the squad but as soon as Melo came back it became this weird combo of "Well we have this superstar and we have to satisfy his touches but at the expense of what we had before Melo came back"

  • @4stripguy
    @4stripguy 9 лет назад +553

    Use to look so forward to watching the Knicks play with Lin on it because it then BECAME a 'TEAM' sport. The game became fun instead of just watching the superstars hogging up the ball all the time. I was even ready to buy season tickets - But ever since he left, I'll admit, I haven't watched the Knicks one time............. Come on, even the bench players like Novak were doing great when he was given the chance AND the ball - Lin did just that by just passing to him more.

Smith with a passion but let's be honest-Lin is only good if he has the ball in his hands all the time, or where he can be a sixth man who comes in and dominates the ball. Unless you have a team where nobody else needs the ball, he's a third guard. And it's true he was overrated during Linsanity, you had people talking about him like he was an allstar, and he's not.

      1) Trade Lin during the 2012 offseason where his stock was high (possibly package w/ STAT), shed some cap space, build depth and/ or draft picks, or
      2) The moment you find out Phil Jackson is considering trading Porzingis, you fire him. That day. KP doesn't leave, you probably do get Durant (and someone else). Build/ develop around them.

    jeremy lin certainly proved that he's made for the nba, he is not the best but he is better than lot of the other point gaurds that play in the league. He certainly deserves to play in the nba. Also, this season although the rockets have made him 6th man he has improved his shooting by a mile and have looked dangerous against any team he's played, he's certainly proved that he can play big on any given night but just needs more consistency and this season he has been more consistent on delivering the points, no matter how he plays i will say he's a real role model to young kids who aspire to be something in life, he proved that with hardwork and determination you can fulfill your dreams no matter how impossible...

    The one thing that really sticks out to me the most about this game, despite how amazing it was, is his mother's reaction from 6:13 (she's to the left of the screen standing next to her son, Jeremy's older brother, and they're both wearing white VIP passes around their necks). She's clapping for him but then covers her face, overcome with emotion probably because of all the trials their family endured and all the sacrifices she made for her baby boy to even reach this point of his life, receiving the much deserved accolades that he was during this run. Everyone was on the "Linsanity" vibe outta nowhere but she knew all the struggles that came before that he went through just to even get a shot in the NBA, let alone be the main focus of this magical run that the Knicks haven't seen anything like since. I'm sure hearing the crowd shout his name sent chills up her spine and made her so proud! Don't even know her but I felt happy for her! 😊❤

    I think Lin should try the San Antonio Spurs while Duncan is still playing. Those guys have great chemistry and no ball-hogs. He would learn a lot there.

    I’ve watched Linsanity clips over n over again, he actually has achieved the area where any Asian can ever reach. From 1 of an interview he kinda express of not doing enough in the past n injuries..n accepting the fact that’s what life is…this’s the kind of person that really brings the moralistic positive energy in him to those people around .. anyway he’s already a legend, “air Jordan”’n “Linsanity” the 2 most common figure will always pop up in all NBA fan’s memories.

    New York should have kept Lin. Chicago recognized the power and ability of Jordan, designed the team around him. The top ten players of all time were exceptional and when a team rewards their fans with great players - then you create a star.
    Unlike New York who did not see the potential and traded a star to dumb ass land.
    Lin is young enough to land with a team who will see him for what he is - a standout.

      ***** Lin, for the past 2 years has been the only bright spot for New York...even with Melo there. THeir team lack fluidity, chemistry, everything....IMO its a shame they couldn't match for Lin's contract because he was a great fit for D'Antoni's system and was the real spark for New York...not Melo. Now he's in LA, and although i am a huuuge Lakers fan i dont see Lin playing well with kobe. They both need to hold the ball to make things happen.

      Steven Saing dude they could have EASILY signed him to a much cheaper extension than what Houston did. They purposefully let him test the market, and that came to bite them in the ass later.

    I love this game, especially that dunk. I hope we get to see Lin play like this again.
    Lin's season this year has been, as some say, "inconsistent." I believe it may be due to a loss in confidence, or fear that he'd be pulled out of the game if he makes a mistake. While I do love the team dynamic of the Rockets, I don't think Houston is a good fit for Lin. I am optimistic and excited to see what he'll do next season.

    This is just bad team management from the Knicks standpoint. Lin was the perfect compliment for a team with strong shooters like Carmelo and Novak- a drive and kick type of PG. Even if they had to replace him, replacing him with a shooting guard like Felton was a terrible idea.

    • @aloverguruman8514

      Although what you said was true, you also have to put blame on Jeremy Lin as well. If you remember, Lin had a chance to stay with the Knicks if he signed the 3yr/$21mil contract they offered. Instead he chose the money that the Rockets gave him which was a 3yr/$28mil. The fact is that the Knicks refused to pay Lin that much money and rightfully so because he only had 7 great games and not to mention he did not play in the playoffs when he got injured. Simply put, Lin had NY at the palm of his hands and let it go only for the money. The guy could have been their John Starks because Starks had a similar story Lin had.

    • @carlvu7
      @carlvu7 9 лет назад +16

      @Alover
      There was only one contract for Lin to sign. Blame Dolan for never making him an offer . Lin would have stay for $3-5 mil/yr. Dumb Dolan. And Carmelo wanted no one else to take his spotlight.

    • @stickitupyourasteric
      @stickitupyourasteric 9 лет назад +4

      Your all wrong... Anyone could see how Carmelo [with Woodson's and Dolans approval ] were forcing Lin to pass the ball to him the same way Harding did in Houston.. Carmelo will never win a championship unless he learns how to play with other high quality players..

    • @awesomeray100
      @awesomeray100 9 лет назад +9

      Alover GuruMan
      No, Dolan told Lin to test the market, and he would match anything up to a billion dollars. When Huston offered $28mil, Lin had to do it because he was a restricted free agent, and Dolan would not give him a better offer. Like Carl Vu said, he would have stayed for 3-5mil/year if none of this ever happened.

    yea lin needs to have the ball a lot in order to be effective. right now a lot of times lin is left on the wing to make open 3's which he's been pretty good at. he needs to go to a different team he's easily a 15 point plus scorer and 8 plus assists a game.

      More so they focused on him so he got the others involved
      Like he knew if they are trying to get to him, make the necessary shots to keep them that way but then fake them out with aggression
