I like the engine braking. To me, it’s like a little bit of auto braking for corners. One thing I had to learn was to stay on the gas longer than my 2T. I was losing a lot of time trying to coast into a corner like I would on the 2T.
Thanks, so I’m coming off a Beta 250 2T, so that’s my yard stick. The suspension is great so far I notice it soaks up most of the big to medium roots from this most recent race. It feels so planted as most 4T do but combine that with a nice linear throttle, I am in love. The Beta always felt choppy over the same terrain. I’d chalk most of it up to me not knowing how to tune the KYB on the Beta. The Husky 350 power is so good, I felt so confident on the big hills and rough trail. Again compared to the Beta, this is a hill eating machine. I tend to break the rear wheel loose on the Beta in big power, but I think the TC on the Husky is really good at controlling wheel spin. Chassis is always hard for me to judge, but what I can say is my biggest fear in getting the FX was feeling heavy and not being able to flick it in the tight sections. It feels as light and as flickable as the Beta, in the woods. We ride such tight trails in places it was so great to put that worry away. My biggest complaint so far is the start button, I find it harder to hit when tired. I really miss the Beta start button, so all in all it was a fantastic choice for my 4T introduction and can’t be happier.
I’ll add, I did watch a lot of your videos which helped me really feel good about buying the Husky without ever riding one. I rode several buddies Beta 350, KTM 350, YZ250s before deciding. Thanks, always love watching your reviews.
@@auksmitty Thanks for watching my videos! There are almost NO ride videos on the 2024 FX350 out there so I am happy to follow along with your '24 FX350 adventures. The new 23/24 chassis is firm (some say too rigid) with lots of feedback for the first 10 hours or so till it breaks in. I really like the 24 FC350 engine I rode past November - that engine is perfect with strong smooth and fun power. I still have a '21 KTM 350 Kailub Russell Edition and that is my current gold standard for Power/Weight/Handling in a 4-stroke dirt bike (but it has full WP Pro Components suspension, full Akrapovic exhaust, and my KTM connectivity unit). I have a new 24.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition on order and due in soon. Will be fun to compare the updated more compliant 24.5 450FE chassis with my son's 23 450SXF. Enjoy your new bike and keep sharing your ride videos and thoughts on the '24 FX350!
Highly recommend! I love this bike. It’s as nimble as my Beta in the tight woods while having tons of controllable power. This bike makes tough races actually fun! It also does amazing on hills. The downside for me is that I don’t love the start button, I like a more of a button push. This last race I found myself stalling and starting while rolling so maybe I’m just getting used to it. Highly recommend this bike, the exhaust note is great and makes me want to go harder to hear the bark. Ha!
I really do, the power delivery fits me a little better. I just need to get used to the engine braking coming off the 2T. I think I conserve more energy to on a 4T
Nice riding. Track looked really good too.
This track is one of my favorites of the SORCS series.
Great race !!! Congrats on your podium right out of the gate on the new bike
Thanks! Great race for you too, seconds apart. Looking for that race video of yours!
Great riding
Thanks!
Coming off a 2 stroke is the engine braking a good thing or bad?
