You are the first Content Creator that I have seen installing a water heater that did everything point on. I even got some tips I will use the next time I install a water heater. Most videos I've seen should be taken off RUclips and the creator should be fined by the AHJ for code violations. I mostly watch these video for entertainment only. Every once in awhile I see one where I can use one little thing to help me install a heater faster or easier. But this video could be used as a training video for new plumbers to learn the correct way to install a water heater. Thank you for the very accurate and informative video. Nice video. I have replaced a few water heaters in my day. However, I never realized that a salt water softener could have been the reason for these tanks failing.
Instead of using WD-40 to lubricate the fastener on the water lines, I use food-grade silicon grease. It serves the same purpose but won't contaminate the potable water system.
Why bring the tps pipe out onto floor instead of just discharging into drip pan, then to floor? Will an inspector make the customer extend the drain pan PVC pipe to the exterior of the garage, instead of discharging on garage floor?
No Teflon tape on supply line on either the copper to flex or the dielectric WH nipples to flex? I saw you add Teflon to the dielectric nipples before on another video, I thought? I know the rubber washer acts as the seal, but the Teflon and tft paste will last longer than the rubber washer as a back up, yes?

For replacement purposes is fine ,remember to add a expansion tank suck is very important,even was not installed previously,
