I enjoyed that movie. Ironically, met the author back in the day at a con, asked him what he thought of the movie, he turned around and started bumping his head on a blackboard.
Manhunter is really underrated. Brian Cox is f*cking chilling in it. And he doesn't do any of the theatrics that Hopkins used in _Silence of the Lambs_ 🤷🏻♂️
The final takedown scene in Manhunter, framed with Inna Gadda Da Vida by I. Ron Butterfly (irresistible Simpsons reference) was epic level film making. Hs soundtracks have always been sublime since Miami Vice.
@@samiam7342LA Takedown is an okay tv movie… until you then watch Heat, where Mann just does everything bigger and better. You can never go back to watching LA Takedown after that.
I had a friend insist to me that Mann is the creator of a genre called Neon Noir. Colorful, shiny, reflective visuals, contrasting a dark loner crime story.
That cut to "The Keep" when Burr said "he keeps" 👏👏

I'm just excited that they finally allowed Adam Driver to show his ears in a film
I love Heat, The Insider, Collateral & Miami Vice. Still need to see Thief and Manhunter.
Thief 🏆
Both great,Thief is like Drive of the 70s and Manhunter influenced CSI,Logan Roy as Lecter.
And it is a great movie. Ferrari is a great Michael Mann movie.
Manhunter all day. And Thief.

What about LA Takedown????
@@samiam7342 It's no Heat. And I'm not even the biggest Heat fan. I think Manhunter is his best.... for me.

The Spartan- with Val Kilmer
My expectations are low for this since I didn't like his last two films. Thief, Heat, and Collateral are all great since Mann does Neo-Noir so well.
It's arguable he mastered neo-noir. When you think of it, you think of _Heat_ 🤷🏻♂️
Blackhat is so underrated. Watch it again and then again. Its so realistic.

"They're going to get _into_ this guy..."
Mann is making those kind of movies now??? 😮
Lol bruv.
Why did u even make this lol. Id be interested in adam drivers thoughts on actually working with Mann than whatever burr is saying here
"DRILL what???? You bang on this box all day nothings gonna happen..."🔥🔥🔥🧯🧯🧯
