One note, there is no XP bonus for playing the main missions on hard difficulty. However, there is a better chance for higher tier loot. I suggest to farm the last main mission over and over again (Black Hawk). The end boss gives you guaranteed 4 superior tier items, plus the two mini bosses which have a chance to drop high-end tier loot.

Playing this game again in 2021, I still love the hell out of it.
If anyone is like me, they will play this game not knowing what the heck is going on, until about level 8 or so and then you kinda get to know how it actually all pulls together.. this is my fav games right now!!
This helped me understand the game a lot more and I can see myself going for a Combat Medic build.
Glaring issue in the tips. You suggest to do the missions on hard. Do not do this, you do not get more experience from the mission and you will take more time to complete them. The increased experience from NPCs does not offset this. The game scales NPC levels no matter the difficulty settings. So normal will never be a cake walk and hard will always be hard. To this effect, do not play missions with people of significantly higher levels, the enemies will scale to the higher level players.
Yea I've came to the same conclusion. Only do it if you personally need a challenge, don't do it thinking it's faster or better because your just gonna get rid of everything.
As someone stated in another comment, you do get better loot in hard mode than in normal mode

That was a great intro. I just got the game yesterday, and this is one of the best basic primers.
Matchmaking is pretty smooth. If I go to matchmaking, I usually find a group pretty quick, and if it's not a full group, it fills up soon enough. I don't really meet people in the open streets much though.

Huge turnoff for me with this game is the lack if stealth. And the fact that you can't do takedowns.

Gaming Syndicate i prefer shooters to have an option fir campaign and multiplayer not constant multiplayer. P.s. i play the crew so I'll probably play this anyway :D its lime a free multiplayer version of the crew :p
yeah. Watchdogs is a good game for stealth. Ghost recon also has some good stealth but here is very disappointing

Actually, MarcoStyle found out that Hard Difficulty doesnt give you more exp. it doesnt give you any exp upon completion at all, just better loot.
+Robert Insko Either difficulty gives you exp upon initial completion. Subsequent completions do not award the exp for completion, but you do get a higher quality reward, and slightly more exp per kill. On the whole, it's better to do them on normal for the exp though because DZ has a tendencey towards better loot drops
Well hard difficulty technically does give more EXP, but its extremely minimal. In his words, its not really worth hard mode for EXP, because you could do better doing multiple normal mode missions in the time it would take you to do a hard mode mission. Hard mode is usually for better loot

I'll recommend getting to level 30 first and then jump into the The Dark Zone. By that time your medical, security and technology trees will be unlocked. Jumping into The Dark Zone geared and ready to fight is better then jumping unprepared.
Nah man, you gotta go in at 29 so you're at the top of the 25-29 bracket, and then level up into the 30 bracket

Everyone hates on the game, but i love it, the dark zone is very fun but can be annoying at times, but the weapon types, armor and customization is mint

This game has become really solid through the years.
Played it day one,didn't like it,bought it on black Friday sale (Xbox) really liking it
Also, don't do missions on hard the first way through because the mission rewards XP wise is exactly the same as normal, meaning no you won't gain more XP from doing it on hard, just the XP from mobs will be more but not by enough for anyone to care. However keep in mind that the loot will supposedly be better (the likelyhood of this is so minimal because the loot you get won't last you long anyway). My point is don't bother with hard mode unless they improve the monetary/xp/loot gains because it's practically pointless right now.

so if you die in the dark zone do you lose your stuff or what?
Here is a easy guide for anyone: stack toughness and get Flashbang Sticky mod and Gas Seeker Mines mod ASAP. Stay behind cover and do anything you can to not get flanked. If the enemies come close, then CC them with the seeker mine and back off/burst them down. Use the flashbang ONLY in emergency situations. Stack health on kill or healing abilities on one of your weapons aswell if possible. If not, then you will have to play very conservatively and use your healthbars wisely. I would actually highly recommend using an SMG (PP19 preferably) and not an assault rifle. AR's are great but u don't actually need them. SMG's are also VASTLY superior to assault rifles when blind firing (behind cover). For PvE the bolt-action sniper rifles are the best option for long range AND medium range combat. They also never run out of ammo due to their ridiculous damage output per bullet. Esentially what I had come to realize is that the bolt-action sniper rifles are ridiculously overtuned for PvE combat, the enemies don't weave around too much so headshots are usually quite easy to pull off. Their weakness is definitely missing shots, which can cause you to get rushed down. There is no real answer to that except CCing the enemies and running/bursting them down. Getting AT MOST 2 pieces of pure firepower pieces is okay if you feel confident, but you will definitely feel that you are less tanky and IMO the game is all about being as tanky as possible and CC.

here about the cover I don't agree with you totally,like a player that uses the Vector, MP5 or the talent that gives u 30% more defense by killing enemies while moving ,u don't stay in cover,u move around,I mostly get to cover when I am badly injured or surrounded ,cuz I need health,but even then ,there are healing talents ,medkits,or other players that can heal u so u can keep going on

Gameplay question...when I first started, my UI had a yellow line which would guide me up the street to whichever mission I had selected on the map......now that yellow line is gone. Anyone know how to turn it back on?

Force Great video as always but the one thing that annoys me as watching people play like this is they say "Cover is extremely important" then the video shows them going through the area fighting out of cover!!!

During that first Medical mission, it looked like he was using a Vector SMG and was getting DZ xp from kills. Was that a DZ weapon, and can you get DZ xp from using DZ weapons in PvE?

what's the max rank and what's the best way to rank up. yesterday i played it for 1st time and i met a great guy who would take me to missions and i would just hide in cover as enemies were having skulls on them and bullets were apparently not hurting them. that guy kept asking me if i had any missions to do and i didn't know how to chat... but its a great game i reached level 16 but i still need some basic knowledge to carry on.

what loot do you drop when you die in the dark zone
For an example: You pic up 2 guns in the Dark Zone, You get killed by another player. Then you drop 2 guns.
You only drop what you've picked up within the Dark Zone, you will not drop the loot you've earned in PvE
