What is with everyone saying "Oh my god joe! You are being so biased!!! Ugh!!". 1) First off, the overall metacritic score is 6.5 on average on the pc community of the division. So this game isn't exactly doing amazing in scores. 2) Its all opinion based. Ubisoft promised a ton of stuff that wasn't in the game. Then he gave it an overall review and didn't think it was to great. If you disagree, thats fine, that doesn't mean he is biased. He isn't being paid by Ubisofts competitor and reviewing it negatively because of it, he is just giving his honest review. 3) If you are going to be pissed because he didn't agree with your opinion, then you should probably stop watching every reviewer because eventually you are going to find a game that said reviewer and you will disagree on.

The problem I have with him is that he clearly went into it after having read other peoples criticisms and then went looking for them. He was happy when he found faults because he wanted to give it a bad review. The issue isn't that he's wrong about the game being mediocre...it's that he's a shit journalist who just regurgitates other peoples opinions and is just flat out wrong whenever he tries to make his own critiques. The visual loot for example. There is a huge amount of variety. No you can't get fucking massive golden shoulder pads ala WoW, but there are over a dozens of different styles of shoe, and each one comes in a variety of colours. Equipment loot DOES alter the look of your character. The equipment consists of a side arm holster, bullet proof vest, backpack, kneepads, gas mask and gloves. All have unique models that change your characters appearance. Low level players do look different from high level. Low level characters start off with fairly basic grey and brown outdoor gear. Mid level people get more modern looking cold weather gear, once you hit 30 you start getting brighter colours, and then the end game stuff has a more military look with bulletproof helmets and camo jackets. I mean the fact that he shouts "Instead everyone looks the fucking same" and then cuts to literally the room where you create your character, the only place in the game where his statement is true, is a perfect example of how misleading his reviews are. So yeah, not saying The Division is great, my problem with his review is him.

I paid $7.99 for this game about a week ago so I don't feel bad but this review is on point because the game is Just repetitive and the hard to kill enemies just take the fun out of the game if the Division 2 is anything like this I will not purchase it.
You haven't been playing it long enough to get an honest opinion on it then. Towards the beginning I agree it does feel that way but you need a group or even just one other friend to play with and you need a goal. It does take a long time to start getting the really good loot but once you start getting there it feels good. I'm personally working towards a Classified Predator build at the moment and I'm really enjoying myself, trying to make my character as good as I possibly can. I'd say keep at it if you can, find people to play with and give yourself a build goal. You might start to enjoy it. In the end your opinion is your opinion but just remember this is one of those games that really takes time to get properly good.

Holy shit, the final boss is a helicopter? We've officially regressed as far back as Metal Slug. Except Metal Slug had charm, and heart, and beautiful artwork, and fun weapons, and cool bosses and great animation, and replayability... I have to ask if 3D gameplay is worth it at this point.

My best friend got that game and tried to make the most of it, but even I could tell it was ass. Could never tell if they were making fun of Curt the whole game, or if they were feeding his ego.
And Joe is a lot more clear with his rating scale and it's superior to IGN's. 5/10 is just average on his scale, whereas anything IGN says is less than a 7 is regarded as subpar.

Paid $8 for the game. 12 hours in. I enjoy wandering the eerie, empty New York and fighting my way through destroyed malls and stadiums that would normally be teeming with people (that weren't trying to kill me). I don't enjoy needing to pump an entire clip into a dude wearing a sweatshirt and a bandana in order for him to drop. Now that I"ve seen footage of Dark Zone gameplay, and know that I'll be facing off against sentient dudes in sweatshirts that can shrug off entire clips, I think I'll continue to wander New York alone and avoid the Dark Zone altogether.

Honestly, collecting clothes is one of my favorite aspects of the game. Pretty much disagree with Joe all across the board here. Also, changing your armor DOES change the appearance on your character.

THIS is the game that made me stop pre-ordering games. I don't trust shit, now. Thing is, most of the games I've pre-ordered in the past I've enjoyed. So no buyer's remorse. This, however, broke me. I deleted the game after taking over one district. Shitty shitty shitty shit...
I snapped the disk without hesitation after an hour of being in the dark zone. It's not fun busting your balls on yellow bar enemies, get a legendary then try to extract on your own.. while a pack of DZ rank 90+ annihilate you, and abandon you and your loot. Sure, you can try and re-claim your hard earned gear, but by the time you get near it either someone else has taken it or the griefers use your own loot as bait to repeatedly kill you.. fuck no.
I'm guessing he dropped it for the Top 10 disappointments list. And after all the shitheads that came out of the woodwork regarding his comments on #GG, I don't blame him for saying, "Not this year."

I bought the gold edition on sale for $10 a couple months ago and it was the best decision of my life. I really enjoy running around New York City and hunting down stragglers. It does get a little annoying when I go against some enemies that are a few levels above and I die over and over again, but when I beat it , it is the best feeling ever. I would totally recommend this game.

I have 40 days of playing time sunk into this game since I started playing in 2017. Have every exotic and build. I don’t play it as much but when I get bored I always go back with my friends and play. It’s a good game now!
Difference is the enemies in Gears of War can take bullets and more damage because the enemies are monsters. Division has normal humans literally tanking .50 caliburs to the face.

That's different. Enemies in GoW are heavily armored creatures so it makes sense that they take so many bullets whereas The Division are just regular humans.
I love how Ubishit took 3-4 years to make a empty bug rittled game. Dark zone is pointless since people are to lazy to explore. They just camp at the LZ and kill and loot. It's pointless.
When I played this, I saw how quickly the enemies became bullet sponges. Also, the requirement of friends made it difficult for me to just play because they were either unavailable or off doing their own thing. It should have followed more like Left 4 Dead 2 where you had a squad who followed you, and if you wanted to push customizability you should have the ability to customize your squad.
This game is addicting and fun af to play. Its been a while since there's been a game that actually made me stay up late to play it or play it all day.

I am loving this game! Everyone is different! It's an MMO; it is not supposed to be played alone. Personally, I don't really care about how my character looks, but I am positive that they will add better clothes, though.

I paid $7.99 for this game about a week ago so I don't feel bad but this review is on point because the game is Just repetitive and the hard to kill enemies just take the fun out of the game if the Division 2 is anything like this I will not purchase it.
You haven't been playing it long enough to get an honest opinion on it then. Towards the beginning I agree it does feel that way but you need a group or even just one other friend to play with and you need a goal. It does take a long time to start getting the really good loot but once you start getting there it feels good. I'm personally working towards a Classified Predator build at the moment and I'm really enjoying myself, trying to make my character as good as I possibly can. I'd say keep at it if you can, find people to play with and give yourself a build goal. You might start to enjoy it. In the end your opinion is your opinion but just remember this is one of those games that really takes time to get properly good.

Paid $8 for the game. 12 hours in. I enjoy wandering the eerie, empty New York and fighting my way through destroyed malls and stadiums that would normally be teeming with people (that weren't trying to kill me). I don't enjoy needing to pump an entire clip into a dude wearing a sweatshirt and a bandana in order for him to drop. Now that I"ve seen footage of Dark Zone gameplay, and know that I'll be facing off against sentient dudes in sweatshirts that can shrug off entire clips, I think I'll continue to wander New York alone and avoid the Dark Zone altogether.
WeAreN1nja I have no idea if you've ever played dz (I doubt you're still playing) but I'd try the darkzone. There's alot more loot and it feels like a different game.

I snapped the disk without hesitation after an hour of being in the dark zone. It's not fun busting your balls on yellow bar enemies, get a legendary then try to extract on your own.. while a pack of DZ rank 90+ annihilate you, and abandon you and your loot.
Sure, you can try and re-claim your hard earned gear, but by the time you get near it either someone else has taken it or the griefers use your own loot as bait to repeatedly kill you.. fuck no.
And the combat isn't even fun! The only thing Destiny had going for it was fun gun play. This doesn't even have that, imo.

I bought the gold edition on sale for $10 a couple months ago and it was the best decision of my life. I really enjoy running around New York City and hunting down stragglers. It does get a little annoying when I go against some enemies that are a few levels above and I die over and over again, but when I beat it , it is the best feeling ever. I would totally recommend this game.

When I played this, I saw how quickly the enemies became bullet sponges. Also, the requirement of friends made it difficult for me to just play because they were either unavailable or off doing their own thing. It should have followed more like Left 4 Dead 2 where you had a squad who followed you, and if you wanted to push customizability you should have the ability to customize your squad.

How? It's just another shooter like all the other ones. The graphics are mediocre and it brings nothing new to the table.
Ubisoft games always feel... safe. You're going get an okay experience usually but only okay.

That's because Ubisoft didn't fly IGN staff out of town to exclusive locations to play the game before the general public. Nor did Ubisoft spend a lot of advertising money on their site so they were salty the game was good & got a ton of sales WITHOUT the IGN co-sign.
It's not hard to figure out.

I am loving this game! Everyone is different! It's an MMO; it is not supposed to be played alone.
Personally, I don't really care about how my character looks, but I am positive that they will add better clothes, though.
