Down under orchids ...indeed...they are very whimsical in appearance and adds quite a woodsy fairytale appeal to my garden! I love them and am very happy that I picked one up...at first I wasn't because it wasn't flamboyant enough for me...but I have found that their is quite a beauty in even the simple things...you just gotta stop and smell the orchids...LOL! :)
ivy geerman Thank you...and I am so happy I went agains my first instinct and decided to purchase them. They do make me happy!!! ...dancing around like little butterflies in the wind...makes me want to do a shin dig! LOL! :)
Very helpful. Had a cypress come down and it has three bundles of Pseudobulbs. I have tried tying them to other cypress trees before with bad results. I’m going to treat these like my Cattleyas. Thank you!
I am glad you found this video beneficial. The issue with mounting is the fact that they dry out almost immediately and if you don’t water them enough they have a tendency to die back or have a sickly appearance. I mount a lot of my orchids because we have such a heavy rainy season and it prevents my orchids from root rot which had been a major issue in my outdoor conditions. You really have to tailor the way you grow your orchids to suit your environment and the type of grower you are to get the best results. Thanks for watching and wishing you the absolute best in your growing adventures! HAPPY GROWING!
This is the best Encyclia Tampensis . Thank you so much. Very relaxing too. I have never found one with fusia throat. Mine is white lip and green green petals. I love Encyclia. Love your channel.
Hi Maria: thank you for sharing that video. I purchased one from Lowe's orchids in a bag last July. I haven't seen it bloom as of yet ,but hopefully this summer. I live in Atlanta and I have other encyclias in containers growing outdoors. they all come back inside October 31st. going to keep my fingers crossed for some blooms!🌺😊🌻
I do love the Encyclias....They are one of my favorites and I am so pleased with these little gals...The true beauty can be found in its simplicity, giving off a natural woodsey feel and can be quite a sight to see when the breeze brush against the making them dance and sway giving them a magical appearance of little whimsical butterflies in a beautiful flurry...indeed they are amazing! I am hoping they bloom for you soon...you may want to up the light on them....They are certainly orchids that will refuse to bloom if not given the appropriate lighting....give them as much light as you can without burning or scalding them...I keep mine in dappled light for most of the day...and in the morning and before the sun goes down they receive full sun....also make sure that you fertilize them as well giving them a better chance of blooming. I am fingercrossing that they bloom for you soon....you will love the blossoms!
PS if they don't bloom for you this year...that will be an indication that it is refusing to bloom because a requirement is not being met...you will definitely want to do something different than what you are currently doing....good luck and HAPPY GROWING!
MY Orchid Adventures hey Maria how do you dapple them under a tree then you move them in evening and morning for full sun? thanks a friend gave me some today
Thank you for the post I must add one or more Encyclia to my collection . Just the bulbs and foliage are very attractive. I have a feeling !! They are like Pokemon gotta have them all! Lol
Awesome video! :) Love the flowers! :) Well done on the video! :) I love flying my Q500 for some aerial footage! :) Thumbs up & Greetings from Ireland! :)
They are beautiful. I was lucky enough to find a wild one that I rescued from a bulldozed cypress tree that was destined for the mulch mill while i was a land surveyor in Pasco County. Are their any fertilizer guidelines for these. I have mine in a small cypress basket with fir bark, spagnum and perlite. Also ive noticed a few of the bulbs look like theyve been half eaten on mine. Any ideas what might be causing this?
Corey Sheets you can fertilize these once a week or once every other week to keep these in tip top shape....not really sure what could be munching on them as there could be several orchid predators...I have had squirrels before that have made meals out of my encyclia bulbs....so they could be the culprit. I'm glad you were able to save these as they are very beautiful! Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!

So happy i found this video! Been searching what this little guy is, i Googled and your video popped up 1rst! And i watch you everyday! Oddly ironic! Anywho, I live in Big Pine Key, Florida. And saved one of these little guys years ago when hurricane Wima came through. But I found it on the ground while walking! Only 3 bulbs when i found it, but now its the size 5" × 4" on the small cork bark i mounted it on. My bulbs are tinier than yours though but are still tightly packed and have healthy roots. But ive only ever gotten one flower from it 😞 what am i doing wrong? Its hanging outside my east facing front door...in a miniture bottlebrush tree. Any suggestions to what i should or can do to get it to flourish? Can i mount a mount on another mount??? (if you get what i mean😂) I also have a brassivolia Yellow bird thats a huge specimen blooming like crazy near that. And at Cattleya. I lost 75% of my collection in the recent hurricane Irma that destroyed us...i saved these guys bc they weren't attatched and growing on the sea grape tree that was my orchid haven! I have 2 phals and 1 mini phal inside on my window sills and a dendrobium kieki i got from a cane cutting a friend gave me. It's in sphagnam moss growing in a 100 year old clam shell! No joke😂 ok I've rambled enough to make you regret reading this! 😕 Lol....just got excited...abd truly hoping you can help me get this orchid thriving....any tips on one fertilizer for all if possible would really help! Thank you so much Dannie!!!💚💚🌾🌱🌼

Are there more encyclias besides this one and encyclia cordigera with the same kind of very plump, round, and shiny green pseudobulbs?
Andrea Soilander LOT'S MORE!!! ...and is the reason why I love encyclias!
9 minutes and nothing said about it's fragrance, one of the major primary traits of the orchid...

Hi Maria. Your orchid is beautiful. I'm trying to get a plant. I live in Gainesville Fl. You can find where to buy it. Thank you
Encyclias of which would you say is the most fragrant ?
I apologize for calling my encyclias a dendrobium in my first video introducing my orchids in a bag from lowes and my garden.
It is only illegal if you get stone cold busted. Lol. They smell in a good way.
