Filters just keep getting better and better! One thing to keep in mind is to not let it freeze in colder climates. These kinds of filters generally become useless after they've frozen just one time.
This would be a good thing to carry when hiking in the mountains in the West. There are mines everywhere out there that contaminate the streams and rivers with heavy metals.
@@Iridium242 $12.50 for the carbon. Ill say this. Good review for a new product, would like to see a few month of use review. I do like the design. I think one of the biggest problems with all of the filter is the waste. Once they stop working properly there needs to be a way to just change the innards and i think LS solved that problem.
@@Iridium242 ... thanks for this review. Talk about a life or diarrhea or death situation.😢 The reviews aren't the greatest but the concept sure is. Since it is new I will probably hold off and wait for you to try it more! Haha I have purchased several of the firestarter kits you reviewed and am real happy with them.
Before you listen to this; I wanted to tell you, that you are beautiful and exceptional. Also your a phenomenal human being; I love you and I hope positive experiences will start happening in your life, if they haven't already. Keep moving forward my friend; start adopting positive and beneficial habits & behaviors. Eat healthy and treat yourself with kindness, in addition to others also. Fair well my friend; God Bless you 💖
Can you tell me if you had these issues that I saw on Amazon reviews....1. unfiltered water drips out the threads 2. Once the water is squeezed past the bottom of the Lifestraw, you can't squeeze out any more water this way. Thanks. I enjoy your straight forward reviews.
When I first tried the filter I did not put it in tight enough and water leaked out, a quick tightening of the filter and it never leaked again. As for it getting past the straw, it still will filter you just need to roll up the end of the bag so it covers the straw. Once it gets low, just either refill it or hang it and it will drip out the rest. I worried about that when I saw the design but for some reason it seems to work
I would probably stick with the Sawyer if you have it already. If you think you might be in an area where there is heavy metal contamination in the water, this might be nice to have as it will remove those and the sawyer wont, but for 99% of what you will run into, the Sawyer will work perfect and has a long track record. Also if you are in an area where the Sawyer can freeze after use, i t will ruin the hollow fiber membrane inside so keep it warm in extreme cold.
Heck I am still using a Sawyer because I have tested them over the years, I have them in all my bags for serious use. This may or may not replace it I have more testing to do on it. Sawyer is just too good to go out of style lol

I’ve been contaminated with Metallica for years. Once you get it, you’ll always carry it and it’s highly contagious!
Love the heavy metal joke! It's an absolutely fabulous product! As always, you give fabulous reviews. Ty!
Nice setup. Finally got me a straw to try out
this looks so good!
You have great presentation skills!

Hahahahaha I loved the Black Sabath and Megadeath joke hahaha
i hoped this comment exists when watching the video!
Wow!
How can you go wrong with system?
This a great item.
good review and demo I like the improved water collecting bag over the sawyer one
Wow amazing, and if I buy it from the US or from Canada the price is about the same including shipping that is unusual. Thanks for sharing.
sounds like this could remove nitrates which is a big problem here in Iowa rivers and lakes
Good review.
So much better than the straw system. You had to draw on it pretty hard to get water.
Yeah and in a pinch you can still use it as a straw, but its much simpler to use it as a gravity filter or squeeze the water out.
Looks like because of the filter size its only good for half the bottle capacity
How do you know if it’s the carbon filter or the flex filter itself that needs replaced?
Just got one
What's the pump for?
Is there a way to buy replacement parts instead of having to buy a all new filter when it goes bad
Yup, you can buy the replacement filters for both ends on amazon. Another reason I really like this filter, forgot to mention that.

Yup, agree, I will be using it in channel videos more so if it fails everyone will know.

You can also squeeze the bag around the filter pushing the water up above the filter. You can get just about all the water out that way.
would recommend washing the container out otherwise you get a rubbery taste
From your research, would you recommend this over a sawyer?

Osmium, then iridium
What is the syringe for?
back flushing the filter, you push the water the opposite way it normally flows and it cleans out the filter after use
@@Iridium242 thank you for your prompt reply
👏👏👏🥂
You should get some NYC water, it’s pretty bad. 😂
You forget, I grew up there :)
Iridium242 😂😂
NYC water is famously pure.
This water reeks of Megadeth!
lol
When did Sawyer go out of vogue? When I bought them I guess lol.

That’s good news. A lot of the RUclips outdoor broadcasters have stopped using them, didn’t know if I’d missed something lol.
You have great presentation skills!
Thank you! Cheers!
