As usual, an intelligent video. No Rockum Sockum Robot , 150 volt, 100MPH, 20S, 1KV terror inducing hair shirt rocket. My blood pressure applauds you sir!
Appreciate you sharing, yeah they both are awesome. I just put rear steer in my LMT grave digger lotta fun, but no crawler with rear steer joy the rest of your day
I learn more every time I watch your channel About climbing than any other channel on RUclips so you are much appreciated. Such a beautiful place. I live in the flatlands of Michigan. Saginaw valley farm fields, beautiful rich soil, but not much to climb!!!! but I don’t let that stop me.
The cage hitting before the tyres on the Gatekeeper is the main reason I stretched my wheelbase at the front on my GK... Cool footage bro...keep up the good work. Enjoyed as always.. Cheers mate 👍
Have you tried to attach your go pro to your remote? I’m practicing my camera angles but it frees up a hand. Sticky mounts with a 6 inch extension works well and doesn’t fall of the remote.
Great video Logan, nice truck comparison. Lovely setting, good camera work and narration... all in all great job. John. Love my 4ws capra, I'll never sell it...
That was some pretty sweet drivin brother, very cool place to crawl. I'm in P.A so we have mostly wooded trails but also some pretty cool rocks and waterfalls if ya know where to go.
Actually rc4wd makes tires that are 2.2 with 120mm outer diameter, they are called baja MTZ narrows, thats what I've been running on my capra lately and it's pretty nice.
That front cage protrusion is my main complaint about the gatekeeper. I chopped the front off mine and replaced it with a back sloping jeep grille. Slightly better approach angle, but I lost the ability to pivot the cage open. Might just drop an ecto body on it.
Thank's for doing this comparison, understanding that both are modded as you stated 💯 as of now I don't have a tube chassis buggy style except a "HeLion Rock Rider" which I'm considering modding up to a Crawler/Bouncer for a project, the independent front suspension kinda worries about making it stand up to that kind of operation....any suggestions? ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing 👍😎👍 AOAH 🌟 RCF4L 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend
That really made me nervous watching you drive around those big drops. If I was driving where you drive I would put my car on a leash. Great video. BTW, I'd love to see a video about setting up those Desert Lizard Shocks.
Like your videos. Thanks for that. I'm considering changing AR60 axles to my Gatekeeper to make it more stable. It's for U4 racing not for rock crawling. AR60 are wider than Capra axles. Do you think that they are too wide for Gatekeeper and make it's stance rediculous? Asking because you have watched you Gatekeeper in any possible angle :)
Great vid but definitely can't compare the 2 against each other considering the element isn't an element in any way running Capra Portal axles ,still fun tho
Awesome video bud! I know its an old one but curious how you had you GT5 steering set up? were you going through the crawl mode or using channel 5-6? Liked and Subscribed!
I watched this video right after watching your video with the 1to1 full size buggy and I couldn't help but notice how much better they grip and stay much more planted and seem to perform better than the 1/10 models. Not sure what the 1to1 buggys weigh but at 2000lb the 1/10 should weigh 200lbs for a true comparison, just sayin.
When scaling(and I could be wrong) but I think it's an exponential difference in weight. If you're 1/10 the wheelbase then you are also 1/10 the height which would leave your weight being 1/100 of the real weight or 20lbs
@@westdesertwheeler bummer, I'm sure a few people would buy a solid build from someone that knows how to build them up like yourself. With your reputation I bet you could make some money.
I'd love to have a capra 4ws or not. But where i'm at in the North East I just don't think there is much technical rock crawling to do lol. Trails for days but nothing a solid scx10-ii can't handle!
@@westdesertwheeler so basically if I drive about an hour north that's where my steep * rocky terrain are and could probably get good use up there. So maybe it would be that extra push to travel just a bit farther. More adventure I suppose lol. But yes that's funny i've had my eye on one of them TF2 kits aswell. I just love the Marlin story and a leaf sprung rig just sounds so cool!
I'm curious, how much less performance does the stock gatekeeper axles create? Would it even be worth having if compared to the Capra?or does the lack of portals make up the difference?
@@westdesertwheeler definitely make it look easy! I went the same route and got the flysky for the rear steer and I had to add a thumb stick for my reciever wheel so I can easily one hand steer with other hand on rear steer dial. I’m just amazed your filming on top of all that lol I usually set a tripod up or lay my phone on a rock lmao
Hey Logan doin the four wheel steer right now in my Capra and didn’t get the front links 😞 wasn’t even thinking? By chance do you know if high clearance links are necessary for it? Or are they a waste?
When you say front links do you mean the steering links or suspension? High clearance suspension links are okay, They didn’t make a huge difference. A high clearance steering link can make a good improvement
Watching . I think once you. tune every thing . Tha gatekeeper will keep up and in some cases go round the capra. You know the capra. . You will know your gatekeeper soon
I totally appreciate how you enjoy driving as scale as possible. Keep crawling bro!

Grate crawl . Awesome spot . Love the clifs. . . It's so even . So close. Love both trucks
I thought we were going to see the gatekeeper fall off another cliff! That rear steer gives it a whole new dimension.
I sure hope not. It has come close a few times!
@@westdesertwheeler Great job driving and explaining, love the videos!
Having rear Steering looks fun. 🤩
Nice videos man. Love watching the Capra at work. I have my first one in the mail. I do have the Gate Keeper, now an Ecto of sorts.
Love it!
Awesome great driving, this is what I love to do when I’m out with my crawler my main rig is the Vanquish VS4-10 Pro!
Nice driving. Good crawling. Would like to see this with same tires on both of them. Same compound compound and same tread.
The cage hitting before the tyres on the Gatekeeper is the main reason I stretched my wheelbase at the front on my GK...
Cool footage bro...keep up the good work. Enjoyed as always..
Cheers mate 👍
Yeah it’s a bit annoying, I stretched mine as well. It’s 13.3” wheelbase now
You should make a video on making the gatekeeper 4ws mine stock steering is terrible feels like 38 degrees tired of making 3 point turns
Have you tried to attach your go pro to your remote? I’m practicing my camera angles but it frees up a hand. Sticky mounts with a 6 inch extension works well and doesn’t fall of the remote.
I used to do that but I’m better with it in my hand to catch better angles
Awesome video! Keep up the great work!
Great video Logan, nice truck comparison. Lovely setting, good camera work and narration... all in all great job. John. Love my 4ws capra, I'll never sell it...
I like your comparison of two modified rigs, though as a owner of both, I’d say in stock form the Capra would be the better performer.
That was some pretty sweet drivin brother, very cool place to crawl. I'm in P.A so we have mostly wooded trails but also some pretty cool rocks and waterfalls if ya know where to go.
Where you located in pa? I'm in northeastern Maryland. If you're near it, there is an awesome place to crawl at holtwood dam.
I have both these trucks pretty much still in stock so ti was cool. Gonna have to do a test myself .
Great channel fella . First time commenting 👍

I feel you. But I really like the look of the caged trucks so I don’t want to just go to a lexan body
Some of the best rc videos and info combo!
Thank you very much!
How were your shocks set up on the capra?
Excellent comparison. Just got our first element product"ecto" and totally love it. Now eyeing the gatekeeper!
Nice! The ecto is pretty sweet
everytime i see one of your videos pop up i just know it will be the best keep it up

Man that Capra is capable. How much difference do you think the tires make?
These two are similar because it’s the same brand and compound so it’s pretty close.
Great vid but definitely can't compare the 2 against each other considering the element isn't an element in any way running Capra Portal axles ,still fun tho
Yeah love mine, I have the same system in my pro
Pretty awesome lines' great looking rigs to
Thanks man, both are very fun to run!
You mention that Capra has great shocks - what are they specifically? Or do you know the length at least? Thanks!
They are desert lizards with a good spring setup. Not sure on length or the exact springs but it works well
@@westdesertwheeler Cool, thanks for letting me know! 👍
Could you show how you did the axle swap and rear steer in the gatekeeperv

Using channel 6
Nice video 👌🏻
What foams was used in the tires?
Mine are dual stage. Capra are single I believe

You ever think about building and selling one of your crawler builds?
Not really. Buying new parts and selling used trucks is a good way to lose money

Stock Capra vs stock gatekeeper the Capra will definitely out perform it. I didn’t much care for the stock GK which is why I changed it.
Savox all the way. A bit chatty but it doesn’t bother me one bit. Nice rigs and video btw.
Thanks man, yeah both these rigs are like a Savox commercial haha. They have always worked well for me
And btw I’m a huge fan of your videos brother. Really enjoy your content 😁💯💯🤙
See ya next time 😁🔥🔥🤘🏻

My biggest question is how are you steering front and back at the same time one handed while filming lol I must see your technique lol
It’s not easy lol

Oh yeah, I’ve seen them both.

Big like
This capra i have 90mm 80mm shock ?
The hardest part of watching this video I was saying yea your hung up not happening and watching you keep trying.
Yeah I figured those spots it wasn’t going to go. But I had to be sure
just googled it sand hollow is close to vegas i might move to vegas so i can get to some real rocks and people that love to crawl
If you choose Vegas Logandale rocks are excellent and much closer
All this site looks like molten bricks. There are definitely brick walls embedded in the stone. Wt# is that?
Gatekeepers CG is so much higher than the Capra
maybe tether the truck to something (not to yourself) while working near big drop offs.
What over drive gears in the element
Hot racing portal gear overdrive

Yeah I really like both. It will just depend on the exact obstacles. The keeper is bigger and longer. Sometimes that will help or be worse.
😁😁👍👍
why are you deleting my post ?
Regret letting go the Capra?😄
