Polygel is hands down the best investment I have ever made I have not gone back to a salon. Remember though practice really does count but I would love to try a short version. Thank you for sharing this!
They look so good! Happy that you you did the shorter version, as for my job I can’t have long ones (but I do love them) I always wanted to see what a regular length nail would look like and they look great and natural.

Never thought about doing poly gel for short nails. Love that idea! My nails are very thin and don’t grow, so I don’t put polish on them because it never looks good. I think I want to try it this way! I’d love to start painting my nails again. Thanks for sharing!! Love the wavy hair! Looks gorg 💛💛

Lol you know what, my first try went really well. Then I got file happy and had to redo a few. I learned real quick why you get it off your skin before curing, it was stuck and I'm pretty sure it took a layer or two of fresh skin with it! 🤣😂

I LOVE your idea of marking off the forms so you know where the polygel is going! I am going to try this trick - need all the tricks I can find because I’m having a HELLUVA time with polygel!!
This is so cool! Are you going to make a video about how you remove them/start over? Would love to see that!
You file them down
Use a drill to file them down a bit then soak the remainder in acetone and use orange wood stick to remove slowly. It took me literally an hour to remove the set. And I still managed to damage my pinky by becoming impatient.

Getting delightful late 90s/early 2000s vibes from that ringer tee and I love it. Sidenote... my nails are nice and long and pretty naturally when left to their own devices but the work I do completely destroys them. Dang hot welded parts 😕 lol

this is probably the best tutorial for polygel i’ve seen! i kept searching for “polygel” and i saw one lady call it “hybrid gel” so i searched that and found way more videos on it but this one definitely helped a lot! i need to try marking the nail for the length i want, i feel like i waste so much polygel, especially being new at doing it. thanks for the video!!

I have a poly gel kit & I’ve done it a couple times but I ALWAYS have a problem with lifting. I definitely liked your tips for preventing lifting. I probably use too much alcohol on my brush & I’m not that great at not getting the base gel on my skin/cuticles which I’m sure doesn’t help.
Youre probably not roughing up the surface all the way, or maybe too much alcohol too

These turned out gorgeous I tried to get with the polygel I like the material it’s made of. And I like that you can do it at home. I tried to achieve this look several times! However I sucked with shaping and the take off was entirely too time consuming. So I’m sticking with my at home gel manicures. I really love the nude color you used!
One suggestion I would make is when doing this length nail, use the slimmest dual form possible while still covering side to side. Nails this short have a tendency to look wider since they don’t have the length to “slim” them down. And just like clothes, darker colors are more slimming than light colors. This just proves nails can look very pretty without having to be long.

Ahhh i love them.... im struggling with mine... only got it yesterday but tried it upto 4 times now haha.. i think the dual forms have to much of a curve. im bought some like yours now, fingers crossed.
I‘m so bad with my nails... need to have them done (can‘t do it myself am just not very talented in things like that), otherwise I‘ll chew my skin and nails as soon as I‘m anxious or bored... in my mid thirties still not able to stop😢

How do you feel this leaves your natural nail? Healthier option than acrylics I assume?
I have a lot of issues with lifting :/ any suggestions ?
I would say its usually from improper prep of the nail or too much product getting on the skin itself which then lifts as your nail grows. x
Prep is the most important, but if you have nails that tend to grow or scoop upwards you will need to fill more frequently (every two weeks) because of the growth pattern and need to rebalance the nail which encourages lifting with these types of nail beds.
These look so good! Im wondering could you apply the polygel to all of the dual forms, then stick it onto your nails all at once and cure in the one go? Or does it begin to set if you don't apply it straight away? 🤔 Thinking of ways to make this a bit quicker so that i could treat myself to it every few weeks ☺️
The polygel won't set until its cured (if you're doing this in direct sun you might find it does) BUT i at least do a quick cure (10 seconds or so) after each nail so i can't accidentally knock them out of place!

This was a very helpful video.... question though. I thought the whole point of poly gel was not to paint your nails. Meaning you get a kit that has colors of poly gels or am I wrong. I am new to watching these videos so if anyone can help clarify with this??

Hi love your videos, ive been watching a lot of tutorials about polygel nails,yours was the most informative and easy to follow,im struggling on deciding which set to get,theres so many on ebay amazon ali express ,i looking at purchasing one with lamo and everything ,is there one youd recommend,also ive heard reviews were theyve said they dont stay on and pop off ,is this all down to preparation of the nail bed do you just do what you did on the video thankyou in advance,regards lisa
Do they make short forms? All the forms I've tried are extremely long. I can't have long nails due to patient care. But mine are brittle to constant washing alcohol and damage

Are the poly gel as hard on your nails as acrylic? I had the latter for probably ten years and it destroyed my nails. Literally took three years to get them back in shape.
Just wondering because I have been a nail biter for years some of my nails are fanned out , will the nail mould with the gel on it make my nail curved like a normal nail ... or can you pinch the sides. Also I work a lot with tractors on our farm here in Australia, if I get fuel(gas) on the nails will that kill them ,
