- Knocked Loose has been able to build up such a critical acclaim and level of publicity that so many metalcore and hardcore punk bands could take notes from. How did they successfully tow the line and get to the point of growing to this degree, without sacrificing or compromising their initial roots?

Knocked Loose is such a case study in staying true to your roots and even getting heavier throughout your acclaim and rise to fame. Why do you think this is and what're your thoughts of them?! Be sure to let me know down below!!!!!!! But for now, cheers, rock on, stay heavy and have yourselves a fantastic rest of your day or night, depending on when you see this!!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
What's so funny is that before the new KL dropped I wasn't sure if I was going to love it or not, but honestly, after listening to it a handful of times, I would currently consider it to be one of the best -core adjacent albums of the past decade. Great video BTW!
In terms of other bands that I do hope reach the level of popularity as Knocked Loose, Sleep Token, Spiritbox, etc., bands like Ithaca, Rolo Tomassi, and Karmanjakah I feel deserve and have the ability to become insanely popular.
Thank you! Had fun making this one.
And those are some great shout-outs, too! Ithaca especially.
did i miss something, I thought Knocked Loose is a Hardcore band
Metalcore or hardcore punk!
@@TheMetalTempestYT i don't know about that, I listened to the Pop Culture EP most of the time, anything after that didn't really catch me tho. In my books Pop Culture is Hardcore with a good scoop of Beatdown, but Punk is something different
They basically thread the line between hardcore/beatdown and metalcore
I just digg in their stuff, like it. I'd say though, anyone who'd like to expend their experience with another band should digg everything from Disembodied. Great, have fun!
I feel like many places in entertainment need to be taking notes from Knocked Loose. They are like the Dark Souls of music right now, in the sense that they've been operating on word of mouth, and might actually have an lasting impact on how bands choose to conduct themselves and approach things.
They're also proof that other mediums (games, movies, anime, etc) need to learn to be unapologetic about things, pay respect to one's roots, while focusing on a vision of what they want to see rather than attempting to water itself down and lose all of the soul for mass marketability to people with no interest in said thing. There's definitely a ton of things that feel impossible to make nowadays (comedy movies being one), due to how corporate things have gotten.
Been getting into Knocked Loose's discography, and I like how abrasive it is, and how much of an impact Bryan Garris' voice has on making it harder. Their success simply from keeping their core identity while making things harder and more experimental is what you'd actually consider punk and anti-establishment now. It's more artistic than a lot of things nowadays as a result. I also like how bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Falling in Reverse are going hard again.
This is a super solid audio documentary - I'd really recommend editing out or lowering the clip gain on your breaths, or maybe turning the mic gain up and stepping a bit away from it tbh
Thank you, appreciate it
Hey, Code Orange, did you check this vid?
(Joking: last CO album is different but really good)
Code Orange are still dope LMAOO I get ya
Saw this album making numbers, both in the amount and in the scores. I gave their new album a decent to a strong 6. The vocals are intense, but boring. The music seems to just be made for the concert crowd to force moshing. I guess that just hardcore isn't for me. I do recognize it's pretty great and this genre becoming even more popular is amazing. Maybe i'll need to revisit the album sometime.
This is gonna sound controversial but Knocked loose is the new Pantera, like if you look how they got big it is similar to how Pantera got big but in the Gen Z world then the Gen X world
I can fully back this! It may be controversial but I totally get it
I am very frustrated that I am not able to enjoy their new album - simply because vocals ruin it for me to the point of being unlistenable. Instrumentals are exactly what I wanna hear in metal, but man, these duck noises are insufferable
That's fair haha same reason a lot of black metal fans dislike Silencer
They are better because… hardcore is better
Spite is way better but Knocked loose is still fantastic.
Spite is an awesome band for sure!
Love spite but they are a very different style to knocked loose so it’s a bit hard to compare
Just another core band. Dime a dozen.
I respect that! I personally think they're very different than other contemporary artists. What makes you feel they blend in so much? :)
@@TheMetalTempestYT they just sound like every other core band to me. I'll give em credit of throwing in hints of Candiria and BTBAM metal jazz but other than that, cookie cutter.
I don't even see any jazz influence. They have a "different" vocalist who pushed the band slightly forward, who could only go so far so the label realized they needed features to keep the band afloat, because they didn't do anything different, so now they're floundering a bit, even in their own genre
@@DukeofItaly How do you know it was the label who decided to put features on the album?
@dilbophagginz Poppy is on the same label so it's highly likely. The need for a feature was because the song was weak
Nah, generic hardcore band. Lol
