He is just pure. So controlled, so efficient and precise, so relaxed and at home behind a kit. If you were to ever pick a single human being that was born to be a drummer, for me, it's Austin Archey.
The fact that all their songs are like this and they did 1h45min. to 2h. sets every night on their EU tour was insane. It was flawless.

Ya, look.... This dude.... IDK where he's from yet and I'm about to figure out what band he plays for but I'll say this. If he wasn't such a drum commanding stick wielding god of percussion id advise him to take a serious look into comedy as a solid career path. Some of the shear mockery I've seen in videos he posted in response to haters trying to belittle what greatness they witnessed is just... I feel priceless and epic are not doing the guy justice so just insert appropriate word for blank. Guy just kills on so many levels it's kinda unfair to anyone trying to hate.

Absolutely love Austin. I bought his old drum road cases off of him back in 2019, and he got those road cases from Soul Asylums drummer. He used to throw local basement shows at his house in Northern New Jersey, which is also super cool. I’m happy how much appreciation and love he’s gotten from his drumming over the years.
One other thing not mentioned in the video--look where his strikes are! When the camera is overhead and he's going dynamically around the kit, his strikes return to the exact same spot! Just...killer control and accuracy!
Alex Rüdinger of The Faceless is phenomenal. His precision, unique grooves and power is just next level. His cover of their song Xenochrist is one of the best drum covers on RUclips

38, never cared for death core, they make it into a beautiful work of art, especially pain remains trilogy, I heard to the hellfire back in October. Nov 5th my dad passed away after a surgery, which left me full of nothing but rage against the surgeon who should've never cleared him and to the colleagues working alongside of him who let my pops bleed out for 4 days, when I heard "and I return to nothingness" I was hooked. My brother, cousin and those around me thought I done lost it. Both of my neighbors have no choice but to listen to them. The band as a whole are all very talented and down to earth guys, I mean Will is the most happy go lucky kind of guy I've ever seen, no Corey Taylor vibes from my man, and most wouldn't think that coming from a guy that sounds like demons mixed with zombies and a lil piggy, whom owns cats.

Austin is extremely underrated! Like a lot of the other comments, Spencer Prewett from Archspire is damn sure worth checking out. Another one that comes to mind is Eugene Ryabchenko, Fleshgod Apocalypse's current drummer. He's incredibly fast and precise, but extremely humble about his playing.

@FieserGarfield Someone else worth mentioning is Christian Giusto from a band called Necrosy. Think Fleshgod, but faster. Their song "Abstract Vortex" hits 330 BPM toward the end, with all the double kicks and blast beats you'd be hoping for. Dude is an absolute machine.

Would love to see you do a drum reaction to Dan Presland (ex-Ne Obliviscaris), especially his drim playthrough of Devour Me, Colossus. His technique is quite unique, and reminds me a lot of how you play. Lifting high-hat with one hand while feet are busy is my favorite part!
He also does tom blasts. Haven’t seen anyone else do that.
You need to listen with the full band. Cuz the way he accents guitar is absolutely fantastic. He's really amazing.

I’ve watched Lorna Shore since they were playing in basements and backyards in Jersey. Austin has always been a top notch guy and drummer. Stoked to see his work is being appreciated. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

"Black Pus in his hilarious attic" would be a good video to react to. Mr. Brian Chippendale's approach to music is as refreshing as a bouquet of fresh daisies gently swaying in the spring morning breeze.
Not sure whether it stands up to modern metal like this, but i remember as a teenager, my mates and I were amazed at the drumming in Cradle of Filth's 'The Forest Whispers My Name' (Vempire album version, as it's double time the original on their debut album.). Their Drummer back then was Nicholas Barker, who went on to play for Dimmu Borghir.
his work in cradle and dimmu is stuff of legend. those fills ARE INSANE.
