  • The notion of pride often comes along with negative connotations. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins! But recent research has differentiated two types of pride: hubristic and authentic pride. This video will explore pride, the details of these two types, where pride comes from and why authentic pride in particular might be very helpful.     1) take credit when credit is due.
    2) talk about specific behavior.
    3) give credit to others.

    Kohut from a psychodynamic approach made clear that some degree of "healthy" narcissism is essential for mental health. Is this somewhat similar? Some of the themes here are well described within an economic-social perspective in "The Tyranny of Merit", Prof. Michael Sandler's recent book which is recommended.
