My name is Nat and I am a gothic operatic singer, actor and voice artist based in the heart of Kent, England. Music has always played an important part in my life as a musician and I love to use my platform on RUclips to share it in my music reactions.
I work on the basis of a reaction should be just that, you don't get another crack at it! What you see from me is the real deal. I don't pre-screen anything I see or work from tight scripts. I'm completely open, emotive and sensitive with my audience.
This is my favorite song from this first album, I love Freddie ´s fantasy world from their early albums , so unique
Roger does that scream brilliantly in the chorus of In the Lap of the Gods from Sheer Heart Attack.
Their was one concert where Freddie hits a eb6 in falsetto for nearly 6, 7 seconds it's called sun city impromptu you check it out, Freddie's voice and the high notes he hits is incredible.
Okay, wait... there are debates in the fandom whether the beginning bit is Roger or Freddie? I thought it was insanely obvious that those beginning notes are Roger, but maybe that's because I listened to this song hundreds of times.
Great reaction as always! One of my favorite songs.
Agree
Its Roger
Roger does the high notes at the the beginning and ahhh but it was Freddie singing in falsetto not Roger
Yep! #4 song on my favs list!! It’s a fantasy masterpiece!! In fact, this song is the one John Deacon practiced when he auditioned for Queen! Former bassist Barry Mitchell thinks the song existed back in 1970 … Released in 1973. The lyrics contain the verse “Mother Mercury, look what they’ve done to me” may have inspired Freddie to change his name!
Thank you so much for doing this reaction. It has to be one of my favourite Roger Taylor vocals
Awesome! Right from the get-go, Queen was destined for greatness! I love how their approaches to the realm of fantasy/mythology are completely original, yet sound familiar all at once. Their skills in lyric writing are phenomenal-so deep, poetical, and even delve into the philosophical! There is a fantasy show on Amazon called "Carnival Row" about the fairy/magic realm that is conquered by humans and how it's very similar in concept to the song, among other metaphors. Freddie also "named" himself in homage to Mercury, the Roman mischievous messenger God (Freddie would attach silk wings on the wrists and ankles of one of his early stage costumes, which he wore at The Odeon Hammersmith '75). Please check out the song "Fairy Feller's masterstroke", Freddie wrote it as a description of a 19th century fantasy painting by Richard Dadd and Ogre battle live at odeon Hammersmith.
Roger..."The Dog Whistle "
its roger!
It’s really sad that most people don’t realize that Queen’s best songs are not their top ten.
Definitely Roger
Most assuredly Roger.
It’s 100% Roger! Freddie doesn’t have Roger’s natural raspy voice and extreme falsetto range. Even Freddie once said that Roger had the dog whistle voice.
Freddie has got a higher range than Roger albeit Roger isn't far off
It's Roger 100% ,did you know he attended the cathedral school and studied as a chorister for a year .
The BBC version is even better
Freddie was the greatest frontman in the world BUT,, Roger Taylor has the best voice!
No! He had great voice, but he was not able to sing every type of song like Freddie, that ´s why he and Brian have been looking for lead singer
Omg, las boludeces que hay que leer.
No, no, no my friend, Freddie had a range like no other, he could go high and low with the best control, technique, and not to mention the crazy amount of genres he could sing, Roger cannot sing any other vocal styles.
