this is crazy. lone has totally been on fire lately, his music has always been great even in the old boc forum days but watching him come up and gain recognition has been great, big ups to the guy!
Tell more about Lone and the old BoC forum please. It seems that a LOT of his tracks have been lost on the internet, as someone said to me that he had some of them on Myspace and possibly he released a couple singles on Dealmaker, Werk and/or Dekmantel apart from the ones that are available on Spotify and his Bandcamp.
I thought "Feral", "Bloom" and "Codex" were the three best songs off the album. This remix is probably one of the most rapidly paced I've heard for any Radiohead song.
I never, NEVER thought i would ever said this. NEVER. But over the time, i like this remix more than the original. And that has never been the case, especially not with any Radiohead remix. Props to you, Lone. Great Job.
Listened to this with headphones on for the first time. Nice!! I didn't realize how many details I was missing by listening to it as background music through my computer speakers.
@brucechrist i love this remix. the above portion is what some lifeforms call humor. in that humor is my deep respect for Matt Cutler and his consistent composition choices. i think any real Lone fan wouldn't want the Lemurian synths to ever disappear. i'm sure i have listened to both Lone and Radiohead more than 98% of anyone reading this. also, thanks for watching my vids.
Lone: "Ok so I'm doing a remix of a radiohead song. Well let's see, let's just pull up this beat from the echolocation back log. Here we go. Now where is that synth preset I have used since the lemurian days. Ah, here we go. Maybe I should use the synth from sunset teens at this part. Ok, almost done, off to record some water sounds."
I don't know. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but the original is perfection, so anything else sounds subpar and unnecessary. It's my favorite on TKOL.
@sheathman....ever heard of having your own sound? ever heard a defmix remix for instance? they, morales & knuckles lived of the same sound for years & suprise supise some people liked it & it made them rich! lones mix is not dull or repetitive it sounds like lone , i like it, it's firing!
@NeverSaidYes: maybe because TKOL is the only radiohead's work that doesn't have a concept itself behind...and maybe is the "king" between the remixes that are the limbs of contemporary music taking inspiration. maybe they were yet thought behind, as seen from the featuring thom yorke makes with burial & four tet, two legendary artists in modern electronic music. I think that Radiohead has made their best before hail to the thief and now are ready just to give inspirations to the others...maybe
@Neverendingplush yeah its all about ecstasy and friends. that said, there are some tracks that took some getting used to, and a few off tracks from everything is changing color. the thing is i've never cared about how tracks stand up on the dance floor. most of the dance floor stuff is pretty dull to me. i can dance to anything, and i dance to lone's woozier stuff more than i do his echolocations ep stuff.
@NeverSaidYes - A remix is someone else's interpretation of a piece of work. Sometimes another producer or artist's take on a piece of music can bring out different qualities or direction that the originator did not imagine or chose not to explore. Sometimes it throws up gems, other times it does not. Remixing in itself isn't really a scene, it's just a facet of dance music generally.
@AmplifyedGuitarist i see... i guess that then music done with drums, bass and guitar is as well a genre... interesting i guess that then electro and glitch are the same... as well as dub and minimal... or even hardtech and chillout...
I honestly think that the live version blows this remix and the original recording so far out of the water, that this remix just pales in comparison to both of them. There's even a sickass guitar part, for those of u complaining over the "loss" of Greenwood's guitar talent. In the live versions of all these songs he does absolutely fantastic guitar work, just saying.
@lebannerfan65 There's a huge difference between electronic music and the electric guitar... I'm not saying I don't like electronics. I'm saying I don't like electronic music, which is a genre, and that I miss Jonny Greenwood's guitar playing. Is that clearer for you?
+massivive Thank you! I can see maybe slight notes, and influences from B.O.C, but I also think Lon'e s style is unique, and is constantly evolving. My favourite of Lone's is Lemurian, but he's produced a lot of wonderful, and creative music, all of which I am so thankful for! :)
@sheatheman im one of the 2 percen that have listened to pretty much everything hes put out. and i love his music, but hes loosing that wierd trippyness and edge he once had. i know that people need to progess but still....

Love how it doesn't REALLY become a Lone song til @2:36.
Why is this my first time hearing this??
Lone and Radiohead are in my top 10 favorite artists
I thought "Feral", "Bloom" and "Codex" were the three best songs off the album. This remix is probably one of the most rapidly paced I've heard for any Radiohead song.

Great Job.
Best Tkol rmx 1234567 song
This song introduced me to Lone, awesome artist
lone is pretty much the only dj I would dance to anytime, anywhere
Listened to this with headphones on for the first time. Nice!! I didn't realize how many details I was missing by listening to it as background music through my computer speakers.
I'm having an eargasm
This reminds me of a lot of the mid 2000's hyper dub stuff, Burial and the skull disco label
This is the best remix on this album imo. So good.
gotta love the water sounds in the background... just suggestive!
great lone....best radiohead remix
great remix. the beat and the bass is perfect.
This is the one I was waiting for. Definately worth the wait!
@Lesionread Thank you for turning me on to that... That's what I was hoping to hear from Radiohead in this album. It's wonderful!
Great!!!
this is cool

this is so , so , so danceable ! i love what has been done to this song, i can imagine thom enjoyed this.
Bangin!

also, thanks for watching my vids.
Dah dah daaah... Dah dah daaaaah... Dah dah dah...!
lone, pearson sound, jacques greene, four tet, etc. best artists to remix a radiohead album ever!
I swear this samples 'Are We Here' by Orbital...
A love radiohead, espescally these rrmx
what a head trip.....that beat is bouncing around in my eardrums like a pinball
Better than most remixes of TKOL.
wow I can't get out of the loop!
This is pretty cool stuff.
stop blowing my mind, ahhh!
Love the latin feel to it. This set of remixes is my favorite by far
Cool

@KurosakiDuque Me too. I always hear the part at 1:40 in my head when I listen to the original Feral.
I don't know. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but the original is perfection, so anything else sounds subpar and unnecessary. It's my favorite on TKOL.
If Feral is one of your favourite Radiohead songs, you must have some serious issues. It's absolute tripe.
How am I just finding this song 😂
head bobbing at 01:21
@sheathman....ever heard of having your own sound?
ever heard a defmix remix for instance? they, morales & knuckles lived of the same sound for years & suprise supise some people liked it & it made them rich!

Definitely better than the original.
when 3:05 came on, my mind was going crazy

The Music Is Great Version This In Danching With Tri & Square Style!

this goes H.A.M!
@AmplifyedGuitarist i see... i guess that then music done with drums, bass and guitar is as well a genre...
interesting

@gosilplat absolutely right! but don't forget the SBTRKT remix...it's blaziin too!
This made me hear the original Feral in other way.
Is it possible to remix Feral? I suppose it is!
I'm not too keen on this, but then again I wasn't overly keen on the original. I still love the album though.
looney tuney
It's very close isn't it?
@charleslongshanks yes, see my other comments.
@AmplifyedGuitarist so electronic music is a genre?
@AmplifyedGuitarist tswhy its just a remix. watch the king of limbs in the basement. plentyy of guitar :D
this shit is puffy!!! :D hate remixes but this is...puffy :D
@lebannerfan65 There's a huge difference between electronic music and the electric guitar... I'm not saying I don't like electronics. I'm saying I don't like electronic music, which is a genre, and that I miss Jonny Greenwood's guitar playing. Is that clearer for you?
I liked this one better than the four-tet one sadly :\ I was looking forward to the four-tet one
I like the spacing on the original a lot better. I understand that this is supposed to be more poppy/dancey but it just feels a little forced.
Man,and I thought the original was good.
MOLLY?
@mynmyself Right.
Songs like this?
Check out Boards of Canada, Geogaddi
+massivive Thank you! I can see maybe slight notes, and influences from B.O.C, but I also think Lon'e s style is unique, and is constantly evolving. My favourite of Lone's is Lemurian, but he's produced a lot of wonderful, and creative music, all of which I am so thankful for! :)
@AmplifyedGuitarist It's too electronic-y for you, but you miss the ELECTRIC guitar?! Open your goddamn horizon...
this is just a remix of something that sounds like a remix.
still awesome though
Tri
Sambahead! XD
Who came from Tri?
@sheatheman im one of the 2 percen that have listened to pretty much everything hes put out. and i love his music, but hes loosing that wierd trippyness and edge he once had. i know that people need to progess but still....
X
This is just too electronic-y for me... I miss the sounds of Jonny on his guitar. :(
lame
why does this remind me of boards of canada? (Y)
