Hi ...I am in a similar situation. I think mine is Grief driven after losing my dad last year. I'm functioning but just barely ...sleeping way to much as a coping mechanism. Do you have any tips or strategies, or techniques that helped.
@@johngallagher72 I did a lot of breath work exercises and also watched a lot of inspirational videos. I've learned that we just need to live with the present and stop worrying about the future. I told myself to get up and live life. Glad I did and now feeling way better than before. I get to appreciate life.
I’m going through that too. I just want to go away and turn off. Feel fatigue and just go to sleep. Ignore taking care of myself. Just no drive to do the opposite.
We created several workshops that focus on different topics that are helpful in your journey to OCD & Anxiety recovery. You might want to check it out: www.restoredminds.com/workshops
Tips 1. Get your body on a normal schedule. ..10 pm to 6am target 2. Water exposure ...shower 3. Eat breakfast 4. Don't isolate have a structured activity where you are around people during the day. 5. Drop time have no time frame exoectations on your recovery. Interesting that the depressive episode is a byproduct of of a primary event. I'm pretty sure mine is the byproduct of a combination of grief lonlieness after losing my dad last year. 🙏❤🙏
Thank you so much for this video i am not diagnosed but just recently all the time i feel this heavy feeling in my chest i have so much anger and sadness that’s weighing down on my chest but the crqzy thing is, i dont have anything to be angry or sad about its such a confusing time. But i will come out of this stronger than ever.
Gosh , when you said you dont feel like its going to end its so right and the time frame thing is me its like i want to be better yesterday its like locked in your own mind and body i appreciate this cause its tough this episode has nearly finished me 😢
Thank you so much for this perspective and for giving useful and practical insight and tools to manage symptoms of anxiety and depression. Good for you for sticking to your own practice and staying mindful. Thank you again for sharing 💛
Forcing myself to watch this and to try to get out of an episode which got triggered two weeks back. Drs appointment is more than two weeks away, therapist's appointment is a month away. 😭😭
Oh sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing your story. This is something I felt as well so I scheduled weekly appointments with the therapist and bi-weekly now with the doctor.
Mine is bi polar not ocd but i don't think it makes a difference when it comes to the depression tho. I recently started trying binaural beats or whatever to sleep and it actually helps a bit
What sucks is that I would love to volunteer but I'm a recluse these days. I have my daughter in the weekends and do everything for her, but when she goes to her mom's I have no one and just won't initiate these things because I really don't even know how to.
All the given tips are the very things a depressed person cannot do!!!! How are these helpful. The only thing that might even start helping is to be able to sort your thoughts and break the thought pattern. I am sorry but this is messed up advice.
You quite literally have to force yourself to get through the mind numbing agony of not wanting to do it. It sucks but it's what I had to do. It was the only way for me to get out my depression
This was great advice. I was diagnosed with major depression and I’ve been struggling for a long time. You CAN do these things he’s talking about, you just need to WANT to get better. Remember baby steps and one day at a time.

All of this is so superficial. One might as well suggest that I be a good boy. Like that would help. So this is all you have to offer?
Well, have you been a good boy Frank?
