Americans in Zweibrücken Part 1

Zweibrücken, that little town that seems to be misunderstood. I can’t put my finger on it but if you grew up in Augusta, Georgia and have ever taken a weekend trip to Aiken, SC…That’s what it feel like.
Many months ago we got a request from jshep67 to visit Zweibrücken and the pandemic put a stop to that. We also looked on a map and figured it wasn’t that far from our small village so, it was on our radar to drive there one weekend.
Jshep67 sent me a few Google Earth photos of places that he used to frequent and I did my best to be prepared with GPS, some road names, and that good old fashioned D&H luck.
The first visit to Zwei had us ill-prepared and the SUBsection/segment research was not available (I basically forgot everything). So we decided to take a few trips and came up with a two-part series.

Thank you so much for doing this! I lived in Zweibrucken from 75-80. My dad was stationed at the Air Force base there. I remember that field, I played my first football game on there as a kid and I went to the elementary school there also. I remember everything about Zweibrucken even though I was young. Christmas time there was the Best! I have lived in Arizona ever since we moved back to the States but I miss Germany alot and loved it there... Especially when we lived off of base in the town of Zweibrucken.

I looked on a map of Zweibrucken and found the house we lived in for a few years in the late 70s and alot has changed. There was a forest me and my brother use to explore as kids across the road from that house that is half houses now, but we all know times change and the late 70s is along time ago...lol. Totally understand your frustration but if you notice, it's a Subscriber request (SUB/scriber section) We had someone request a certain section of town that they grew up in. I don't know you or your mum, or your dad and I damn sure don't know my way to the town center. Thanks for watching anyways.
