Tyler: "We're not really good at these interview things." Tyler: "Music is a catalyst for emotions. And a lot of times, humans think that the most powerful emotion is love. Love is a very powerful emotion, but I question whether or not it is the most powerful. I think that the most powerful emotion is fear." "I think that if someone were to be helped or encouraged because of one of the songs we play, my entire existence would be justified." Me: I smell bullshit
Tyler Joseph, I am here to tell you that your entire existence has been justified. You've saved my life; you and Josh. You've both inspired me. I would've died long ago if it wasn't for you.
Tyler Joseph is honestly one of the wisest people I've ever come across. I really feel like I can connect with their Music and what they're saying. I love their music so much!
I honestly think that one of the best things is seeing Josh's face while Tyler is talking and just see him take in all his words in different ways. |-/
"i think that if someone were to be helped or encouraged because of one of the songs we play, my entire existence would be justified. It would be worth it right then." Ohhhh boy tyler has your existence been justified then
Tyler is probably the realist person there is. He straight up answers the questions even if they reveal a lot. He's so open with everything in his songs and it's just great
Wow. These comments are from two years ago. No fangirls. No |-/ symbols. No song references. Just people saying things like "I like that Tyler kid" or "he is really philosophical" and "this band rocks!!!" It's crazy to see how far they've come and how so many things have changed. It's like a time machine. At first I thought they were being humble when they said their crowds "are a little bit bigger" because I didn't see the date on the video. But they were serious, they still didn't have much of a crowd.
messybraden and your comment was 2 years back from now! I didn't know who they were a couple of years ago so I wasn't there to support their great music. But like many others I have found them after hearing blurry face. And now I'm a huge fan. And now they have more fans than ever. Also now there are some fangirls but not as many here as there are in other comment sections lol
"If someone were to be helped or encouraged because of one of our songs that we play, my entire existence would be justified, it would be worth everything." such great people they are!
I see a ton of people saying things about how you connect with the music especially if your a Christian but that is the case. People of any religion or no religion can connect with what their saying. They aren't talking about religion they are talking about feeling. In one of the songs it says "entertain my faith" that doesn't nessasarily go towards religion, it can be showing your faith towards another person or towards anything. A Christian or atheist can go through the same troubles or have the same feelings and connect with these lyrics as much as any other individual. Just because you share the same religion as them doesn't mean you have more connection than any other person.
+Lilly Hubert i agree with what you're saying, but some people feel that they connect with the lyrics because they're religious. and there's nothing wrong with that. And for some people, their religious faith is very important to them so they really relate to the lyrics. But it all comes down to what that person decides.
I agree, but that fact is that some of there songs (especially from the self titled) were written with a spiritual meaning. Not religious, spiritual. But I do agree with you
this band speak for my thoughts that i can hardly express esp. tyler he puts it into a lyrical masterpiece. josh amplifies it with his drumming. they're just awesome together!
7:18 who knew 5 years later he'd write the lyrics "either way it helps to hear these words bounce off of you, the softest echo could be enough for me to make it through" - Bandito
The best interview. And I've seen just about all of them. These questions were more general and not so focused on their "current projects". It's like "YES I know you released a new album and are going on tour, let's try asking some real questions please". Excellent choice of questions.
I love how humbled they are. I honestly don't think they know how good they are and how much Tyler's lyrics are so relatable causing them to be helpful maybe even life saving. Congrats guys because your music has helped me so there is a reason for your existence right there and I know there are millions more.
"People call them fans, or supporters, but really what it is--is people who resonate with what you are saying."--Tyler These guys. I just have so much respect for them. Consider me a huge "resonator."
Tyler's wisdom always impresses me, not only the words he says, but the way in which he's saying it and what he transmits, it always makes me get to a point where I start to asking myself too many questions, but I don't know why, but this time it hit me really hard, and Tyler, let me tell you something, your entire existence has been justified.
This interview was really good. I love all the questions they asked them, they were very deep and thought provoking. Also, Tyler playing with his glasses and looking very gangster in the first few minutes 😂😂😂
Consider your existence completely justified then, tyler. So many resonate with and are helped by the music you guys produce. And that's punk rock. |-/
i like that josh is completely happy to let tyler answer the questions in depth. i know personally that i would never be able to do that and i think it shows the strength of their friendship.
"the songs aren't about a girlfriend five years ago" ... thank god! we have too many of those, they are the first group I've heard to say that love songs aren't the most powerful
It probably seems that way, but about 500,000 people could clarify that he isn't full of himself. Each song shows he's been trapped and drowned with his thoughts, and when he gets them down on paper and can sing them or tell them to the public, he's kind of escaping. He's not being pretentious, he's in an entire other world and keeps trying to claw his way out. He's just different. He IS smart, and he does know the truth about life, but that's where people start to clash. He's just sharing.
they're so amazing. i've honestly JUST discovered them a few days ago, and i'm addicted. even just now discovering them you can see and feel how passionate you are about their music. Whether it's 5, or 15,000. And THAT is music. THAT, is art. Love it.
Probably one of my favourite interviews because of how deep and person Tyler got. I love it, and I relate to it so much. This. This is Twenty Øne Piløts.
I just wanted to say that Tyler if I never found your music I would be dead a very long time ago. So I hope you know that the days you think that you should stop doing music and think no one likes your music just know that it does mean something and saves lives. Thank you❤️
They truly care. I have never seen a band get so into the crowd before. They get the crowd so involved and even afterwords they sit and meet you and take pictures. Saw them in Adrian, MI and while they were only the opening band, they killed it, and stayed after to meet their fans while the other two bands were nowhere to be found.
I love how real these guys are. They don't put up an act. Also they put on an incredible, and even inspirational performance at their concerts. It's actually not even like they are performing, more so sharing how they feel and what they have created.
i love what tyler says about fear being the most powerful emotion i think he might be right. Also how he said some of his songs are therapeutic and helpful when dealing with fear, i think holding onto you is one of them. it probably has a lot more meaning, but in the second verse tyler raps about tying your mind to a tree and telling it to obey, i think hes saying that the part of our mind we cant control is what creates fear and i think the lyics are trying to convince the listeners that you can control fear, and its not that hard. i noticed this theme again in the lyrics "lyrics that mean nothing we were gifted with thought" the "lyrics" are the pointless fears and things that were scared of and also "it aint the speakers that bumb hearts its our hearts that make the beat" again i think this means that the speakers are things that can scare us and tyler saying that fear is a choice and its us that makes the decision to be scared of certain things.
They are such humble and genuine people, and I can relate so much to their music and Tyler's words. These guys are gonna be big someday and they will totally deserve it. :) Love them.
I've seen the band live and met them 6 times now and every show is different and they are so down to earth and humble it's like they surprise themselves by the amount of people that they help with their music.
Tyler, your entire existence has been justified because your songs resonate with me. I fear many of the same things you do. You and Josh have helped me find purpose and have made me a kinder, compassionate, humbler person than I used to be. I love you and Josh with EVERYTHING I have, and I fear life without your music. Thank you for everything.
Two of the most down to earth artists iv ever seen. you can just tell how true they are to their word and how much they care. absolutely loves these guys and their music
Now, this might be my inner fangirl coming out but but right here, right now, I think Tyler and Josh are some of the oldest souls around. They are both so humble and wise and have changes so many lives! 😁
im so happy to have finally found a band that is different, in the best way possible. i've never loved a band, until recently when i discovered you guys
“Music is a catalyst for emotions and a lot of times humans think that the most powerful emotion is love, but i question whether it's the most powerful. I think that the most powerful emotion is fear. Even inside of loving someone theres always that fear of them not loving you back, or theres always that fear of your head…” Damn...
I've never understood how band can save your life, and I still don't think that that is possible. But those two have gotten as close as anyone ever has, and I think ever will, to that for me. I've never been able to relate so much to so many songs, and seeing not only that I'm not alone, but also seeing clearly how you can overcome those problems really gives me a lot of hope and pushes me on to keep going everyday.
Their interview was so great and i wish they grow further and further. Twenty One Pilots is one of the bands I'll listen for a long time. Wish someday i could see them live!
i love how when josh is talking tyler is just like OMG THIS PEAR OF GLASSES ARE SO INRESTING I HAVE TO STARE AT THEM AND PLAY WITH THEM THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These guys are truly inspirational... The way they convey their message through their music is just amazing and hearing them talk about it just makes them more inspiration because it shows how important their music is to them... I will be listening to Twenty One Pilots for a very long time.
I would just love to sit in a room and talk to Tyler for a full day. I think if come out of that a changed person due to his intelligence and how deep he really is.
10:17 i got so sad the 2 seconds of them just not talking after tyler said that. you could tell they were kinda thinking "shit we wont be doing this one day" :((
This is one of my favorite interviews of them, and I've...kinda binged on most of them, but he's so honest and raw here and I relate to so much of it and deeply appriciate them and this interviewer
I'm so happy for the first time, I love the interview as mush as the music! Mind blown! I really hope I can meet others like these two :) I take theatre and my teacher always says how the most powerful emotion is love and I think personally that fear and love have the same power with different effect. Fear keeps you from saying/doing and Love makes you say/do. Fear will keep you from saying you love someone and Love will keep you from saying you fear someone.
I can never express just how much they mean to me. I wish I could go to a concert of theirs and get a hug. That would be something to cross off my bucket list. Bless their existence.
"i think that if someone were to be helped or encouraged because of one of the songs we play, my entire existence would be justified. It would be worth it right then." then your existence has been justified by millions, Tyler
I agree that fear is the most powerful emotion, me myself dealing with severe anxiety, panic disorder, depression & other stuff,I lived through something that was the scariest thing in my life or something anyone could ever live through, and I continue to be scared till this day that the same thing is gonna happen to me again. Its not fun at all, and I also agree with wut he said about love, "yea loves powerful, but theres still fear inside that love" , so true!
Tyler and Josh were especially vulnerable in this interview. Their humility and sincerity makes me love them all the more.
I'm not going to like this just because it's at 21
i fucking love how these guys can go from playful and kidding around to really wise and sincere.... god i love twenty one pilots
Tyler was really interested in those glasses.
Lol yea
I was literally watching him like "that's totally me, i want those glasses"
Tyler: "We're not really good at these interview things."
Tyler: "Music is a catalyst for emotions. And a lot of times, humans think that the most powerful emotion is love. Love is a very powerful emotion, but I question whether or not it is the most powerful. I think that the most powerful emotion is fear."
"I think that if someone were to be helped or encouraged because of one of the songs we play, my entire existence would be justified."
Me: I smell bullshit

I honestly think that one of the best things is seeing Josh's face while Tyler is talking and just see him take in all his words in different ways. |-/
If I was an interviewer I would ask Josh if he ever gets annoyed with Tyler's deep philosophical thinking... lolol
I feel like it'd be 50/50 whether Tyler would find it funny or get extremely offended lmao
Farabee Pushpita i bet on sas Josh lmao
he'd immediately shoot back no 😂 I've seen him do it in others interviews
"i think that if someone were to be helped or encouraged because of one of the songs we play, my entire existence would be justified. It would be worth it right then." Ohhhh boy tyler has your existence been justified then

Annie I never realized that 😂

oh man. that comment about fear being the most powerful emotion. wow. i can't express how much i agree with that. don't ever stop writing music!
Tyler: "We're gonna get old, people are gonna stop caring about what we have to say..."
Me: "k smol one, you can think that for now."
Awe Tyler playing with his glasses he's so cute

I love these guys they actually look deep inside their minds and question things rather just write random music they arent afraid
I think there very intelligent, and opinionated. There honesty is a great thing for our youth.

"People call them fans, or supporters, but really what it is--is people who resonate with what you are saying."--Tyler These guys. I just have so much respect for them. Consider me a huge "resonator."

They're so awkward omg I love them
They're kind of awkward during the interview whoch makes it 100% cuter.
tyler playing with his sunglasses is actually a blessing
this is music. true music. true artists with an honest message... our generation diffidently needs more of this.
Tyler seems like such a chill dude :)
Please, tell me I'm not the only one who had an heartbreak for the way Josh looked at Tyler as he was talking about fear.
Tyler being deep af and Josh just sitting there
Consider your existence completely justified then, tyler. So many resonate with and are helped by the music you guys produce. And that's punk rock. |-/
Right? If I didn't have this music, I wouldn't be the way I am.
I thought Tyler was going to cry at some points in this video
don't worry he's always like that
+Sophia solari do u mean that's just the way he talks or that he's always about to cry??
Twisted_upinside_mymind :p
Yes
6:47 is it time to move our feet to an introspected beat
It aint the speakers that bump hearts its our hearts that make a beat
+Mia M I know its late, but I believe its introspective. also its not bump hearts. Its bombard.
+TheRushingCamper no it's bump hearts
It is bump hearts
i like that josh is completely happy to let tyler answer the questions in depth. i know personally that i would never be able to do that and i think it shows the strength of their friendship.
Probably my two favorite people. These guys are both amazing. Truly inspiring.
"Would you consider yourself a band that shines on stage or in the studio?"
Correct answer: Yes.

It's admirable how passionate Tyler gets towards the end of the interview as he discusses the reasons behind his music along with his aspirations.
Tyler is soo deep when he talks about life and emotions. I love it
This band speaks volumes. Tyler is an amazing lyricist, and I really hope to see these guys around for years to come.
I love how real these guys are. They don't put up an act. Also they put on an incredible, and even inspirational performance at their concerts. It's actually not even like they are performing, more so sharing how they feel and what they have created.

The way Josh kept looking at Tyler makes my heart melt💗
You Can Tell that this was the first time he really deeply thought about the legacy topic, like... You could feel him think
Now, this might be my inner fangirl coming out but but right here, right now, I think Tyler and Josh are some of the oldest souls around. They are both so humble and wise and have changes so many lives! 😁
"and hopefully into the future"
*its almost 4 years later and im so happy*
im so happy to have finally found a band that is different, in the best way possible. i've never loved a band, until recently when i discovered you guys
They haven’t changed a bit and I love it
“Music is a catalyst for emotions and a lot of times humans think that the most powerful emotion is love, but i question whether it's the most powerful. Tyler is so well spoken I'm convinced he's a genius. Epitome of the modern day poet.
Their interview was so great and i wish they grow further and further. Twenty One Pilots is one of the bands I'll listen for a long time. Wish someday i could see them live!
they are just so adorably down o earth :)
i love how when josh is talking tyler is just like OMG THIS PEAR OF GLASSES ARE SO INRESTING I HAVE TO STARE AT THEM AND PLAY WITH THEM THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Concentration level- Tyler with his sunglasses
i swear i fall deeper in love with this band every time i see them.
I could listen to them talk all day
The part where Tyler talked about how their going to get old and about what they want their legacy to be made me cry so much like ugh 😭😭❤️
Lmao tyler is so concentrated in the sunglasses tho
7:19 "....the softest echo could be enough for me to make it through"
I would just love to sit in a room and talk to Tyler for a full day. I think if come out of that a changed person due to his intelligence and how deep he really is.
He does resonate with me, from the first lyrics and music I heard. Hearing Tyler talk makes me realize why. :)
10:17 i got so sad the 2 seconds of them just not talking after tyler said that. you could tell they were kinda thinking "shit we wont be doing this one day" :((
Tyler speaks with such depth..
This is one of my favorite interviews of them, and I've...kinda binged on most of them, but he's so honest and raw here and I relate to so much of it and deeply appriciate them and this interviewer

This is probably the best interview ever.
I can never express just how much they mean to me. I wish I could go to a concert of theirs and get a hug. That would be something to cross off my bucket list. Bless their existence.
they are such beautiful great human beings. i love them so much.
