interviewer: If you bring out a ukulele you're not gonna get laid Tyler: mmm Tyler you mean like a Lei? interviewer: no I'm talking about sex Tyler: oHHH GEE
I think Tyler's subtle approach to religion is a powerful one. He never denies his beleifs, but he presents them in such a mild way that I beleive it draws people in. The people on the fringes. He wont shove religion down your throught like some people are so terrified of that happening to them. But at the same time the underlying tone is there and it gives his songs real substance and deep meaning. Because in the end when you dont write about the superficial and silly surface ideas and topics like women and money, you start asking bigger questions and struggling with the idea of 'real stuff'. And thats where the fear comes in. 'real stuff' scares most people, or at least gives them some mild fear. I think its natural to want to beleive in something bigger than yourself, i personally do. But tyler presents his thoughts and struggles in a way that I think most people, no matter what your involvement in religion is or is not, can relate to. And they to can then begin to ask themselves important questions. Its all about making people think, if they let the lyrics really sink in.
I really like this interviewer! He's so uplifting to them I mean they're making fun of themselves but then he's there like "but you still walked out with all those reviews". And when he talks about their music and their genre, he's so respectful and I feel like he gets them, while still remaining slightly funny. Some interviewers could take an example from him.
Intergalactic Schizophrenic yeah exactly! Like the one from BBC 1 with the woman who was constantly breaking them down, saying they were terrible at that stupid game they were playing
i have different favorite interviewers like the kid who called Tyler to Josh, the one from Never have I ever, the one from 21 minutes and the one from Face Culture. But yeah this one just made it to the list
"Here are my questions I have, and honestly theyre not being answered, and I'm struggling with these things." he's not even trying and it sounds like poetry.
When Josh was air-playing the ukulele at 6:10 I got really excited because that strum is an actual strum (down down up) and it's so cute because he doesn't even play ukulele but I just picture him playing Tyler's every once in a while and Tyler teaching him basic chords and strums and yeah that's all
I watched so many interviews where they seem so tired and bored by the same questions over and over, this kind of interview is so refreshing, they are happy, the guy is making them think a bit deeper about things and it's great, they're great, I love them so much, save me.
i realized i was in a tour called "save rock and roll" and i was up there with a lil' ukelele. sHREADIN'. really smashing the hardcore scene. I STOPPED BREATHING FOR A SECOND I LOVE THIS BAND SO MUCH THEY'RE SO SMOL AND INNOCENT. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH ITS NOT OKAY
So many ideas and thoughts I've always thought about and always thought I was alone on this but Tyler Joseph proved me wrong. We both think very deeply I'm so glad I'm not alone
lookingfordanny Yeah he also said in an interview that he's ancy and can't stand still (maybe anxiety idk) but that's kind of an interesting trait about him
+Paige Kormann I'm pretty sure he was looking at his hand movements, but shhh we'll just say he was looking him up and down. Either way it was adorable
i really love what tyler talks about at the end, about those large questions he doesn't know the answer to and how he writes about them through fear. i enjoy music that isn't about women or music or money or fame or sex for once. love this band.
5:06 I'm sorry but...Tyler checked out Josh so hard there... But anyway, I loved this interview! I watched it a couple of times but never really said much about it
i remembered like back around February 2014 i deleted all my Christian/ religious music (tenth avenue North. the band red hillsong) etc. and had enough of them and their "sugar coating" main part was to make more space in my phone to download all of tøp. at the time i just thought it was like fob or p!atd but when i find those lil biblical/story/questioning meaning behind each other song there was no words it was fantastic to know that someone out there was putting/singing into words that like yo i feel the same. i question life too. i fear. i believe. i want to say hello too. like they brought me back to my belief and i love them okay bye lol
6:14 "Ohh. JEEEZ." tyler, honey , tyler um where have? you been living all this time? under a rock? Is that where you've been living all this time , Tyler ??
k k I was just joking lol. I thought it was hilarious because it's rare for a famous person to be that innocent😂 but no I love how innocent they are, and that they're not all about sex like most people are :)
I could spend days and days just listening to these two speaking about random stuff and dont ever check the clock.. I immediately become interested in whatever theyre talking about
This is probably the only interview, where I felt like the questions were spot on, but fun and all around atmosphere was friendly and sweet. Loved it. Good job!xx
i'm not religious and even though i adore tyler a lot, sometimes the fact that he's this much of a christian made me uncomfortable, but i accepted it because i know it means so much to him and everything. but when he talked about it in this interview, it all became clear to me, in fact, i expected him to explain it with something like this and he did give the wisest answer and now i just feel like a wall has been wrecked and i love him even more (as if that's possible), you feel?
"not talking about thrift stores" ooh burn macklemore but seriously I really love the way Tyler described his beliefs I really wish I could be as eloquent as he is with such things

This is so accurate I can't even express it. This interviewer's gotta be my favorite. So many interviewers nowadays are so disrespectful.
Intergalactic Schizophrenic yeah exactly! Like the one from BBC 1 with the woman who was constantly breaking them down, saying they were terrible at that stupid game they were playing
