Yes, sorting like w/ like is one of my favorite ways to "find my favorites " = which helps me to release the others.😊

So true about craft and hobby supply collecting and actually practicing your craft or hobby being two separate activities! There is a point where you have to say to yourself this is ENOUGH.

Thanks, Gayle and Ed. Since I no longer have collections of books, turtles, music physical media or DVD's, I often feel I'm off the hook when it comes to having too much of something. But I do have unruly quantities of paper and digital stuff. But I don't think I'm ready to look at them from a Weekly Tittle viewpoint. However, I'm going to take credit for the fact that I do try to choke off the fire hose when it comes to incoming mail. Lately, I've been sorting the mail as I get it, and tearing up/tossing junk and other unneeded stuff, as well as the envelopes from the stuff I keep. Yaaaaay!

@@MsLeenite that is a very important step in paper management! You’re really thinning down what stays, and doing yourself such a favor by handling mail that way. Good job!!

So true about the Jimmy Choo example. I used to work in an office environment until I turned 39 and my main obsessions during that decade was nice work wear and shoes. Dressing up was something that I enjoyed about going to work. After my 3rd baby I quit and I always thought I’d eventually get back to wearing all those clothes and shoes that I spent so much money and time buying. So I kept them in my overstuffed wardrobe for the next decade. I added to the collection significantly with aspirational shoes and clothes, I really was obsessed. To my sadness when I got to my 50s I realised in addition to many items all being out of style, that I have also aged out of many. What suited me in my 30s wasn’t nearly as flattering in my 50s. It was hard to accept that that era of my life had passed by so quickly and I’m now closer to 60 than 30, and I may not work in an office again. I mainly wear casual clothes. It’s so hard shifting mindset from the ‘when I resume my former life’ to ‘that life is never coming back and it was fleeting’.

@@universaltruth2025 it’s always weird to realize what’s actually in the rearview mirror of our lives. But it’s also helpful to get clear about it.

Thought provoking as usual, you two lovely people! Not much energy atm due to overwork and overwhelm….time to take stock and realistically make decisions that can be put into action after the Winter celebrations. I can feel a list coming on…and it’s not one for Father Christmas lol!
