He retired to live in a farm with his family, but rockstar tracked him down and pushed him back in the business for one more game. Very ironic

James Gambill He would’ve been looking over his shoulder the rest of his life, not to mention the risk it would pose for his family should they become wanted. In the end he had come to realize his own fate, that despite all his efforts, he was still confined by all the things he and his associates, both inside and outside the law, had done. The fact that he was involved in it all meant that he would always be liable, regardless of what he did to appease his prosecutors. So, in a world where nothing is forgiven, he decided that there was only one way he could truly attain redemption.
@@nickcara97 that's true, just hated seeing John die after I spent so many hours playing as him but him facing death head on knowing he was going to die fit his character. And that ending left a impact after the story was over. Also John's son getting revenge for his father's death was satisfying and made the story feel complete.

"I miss working for rockstar" as he was working on rdr2
In 2013? I dunno. Maybe.
@@TRIIGGAVELLI I think they started the year after.
@@estignatic I heard they when in the full development in 2014 too. But I think he had at least be aware, because Danny Ross (He was on O&A and was hired at R*) put out a bunch of leaks when he was fired and specifically mentioned RD2 and that was in 2012 I believe.
@@TRIIGGAVELLI Roger Clark has said Rockstar took 8 years making it so I'm guessing Rockstar started working on it right after the release of the first.
They started motion-capture in 2013 but he could've started after this interview took place so when says he misses Rockstar, he might've been genuine.
So, the guy basically _actually_ is, John Marston.
I mean not only is that his normal voice, but down to a T he's like John, he walked away from a life he didn't want anymore to become a family man, now works at a farm kind of place, he likes to talk and ramble about life lessons and such... let's just hope the rest of his life doesn't play out like John's ; - ;
Funnily enough, it kinda might in a way. I believe it is all but confirmed that Rob is returning to play John Marston in Red Dead Redemption II despite having walked away from acting for good. Kinda similar to how John had his family life for a few years after the gang left him before he was forced to return to a violent life by the Bureau to chase down his former gang mates. It's a really interesting parallel in their lives.
I hope your right man cause this guys IS John Martson
Well, He's been roped in by the suits to do RDR 2, so it's kinda playing out like john's life. I guess it all comes down to whether or not Zelnick and the Houser brothers pop two in the back of his kneck when RDR 2 ships.
yo thats pretty poetic
It would happen if he was a family man and got famous. He's too peaceful and positive. He would be a target off the bat. The man speaks his mind. Speaks from the heart. They don't like that. Hollywood 🌟 wackers would get him 😒

+Jipptomilly I don't know if that was an insult but you shouldn't make fun a person who is doing much better than you in life
+HQ dayday Express Stroke patients actually can't see sentences correctly. It depends on where the stroke is but it can jumble up words for them. For example instead of 'Hey, how are you doing today?' they would see something like 'today are? Hey doing are you how' or the most extreme could be 'wyyeH hert ingoad ?,oouae.' Transient Ischemic Attacks are a series a much smaller strokes but are more subtle and less localized hence the transient part of the name. They can also persist for as long as decades without anyone noticing changes in speech or motor function, depending on how severe and often the attacks are.

He's exactly how I'd imagine John Marston to be if he lived in our age.
I really hope Rockstar makes a RDR prequel. John Marston is, in my opinion, the best video game protagonist ever.
Same. But I'm pretty sure the guy made it pretty clear he's truly happy where he's at. Doesn't look like a big chance he will be returning!
Sam Spence Agreed. What Rockstar don't seem to realize is that recycling some of their most loved characters would result into a massive success given how much characters like Marston or Niko Bellic made history among fans.
Same, by 1,000,000 Miles
Sebastian Simion I personally think it's a good idea for them to have a new protagonist every game. Re-using an old character would make me feel like everything I did in the past game was pointless since, given the standard formula for sandbox games, I'd have to work my way up from the bottom again.
Plus, it means a more diverse cast of characters and more voice actors whose names will become well-known.
MegamanXfan21xx I'm not saying this should be done EVERY time. After all, only some of the characters can be considered as truly charismatic. Personally, the only two I'd re-use are Marston and Niko Bellic. Of course that's just my opinion, and some other people might think that all the characters are outstanding & deserve to be re-used, however I think those two really are some of the most loved ones among all Rockstar games. So bottom line is I don't want to use them all again, just the two fan favorites.
As for that feeling of having to do everything all over again, I can understand that, but still, given that the two stories really don't have to be linked to one another, you can also see the second story as something totally different rather than the continuation of the previous one. There's also no need to necessarily start at the bottom. Actually, what's the bottom? We never really get on top of ALL of our problems in life, so even though Niko has solved his problems with Dimitri & co., he won't just relax till the end of his life. There's a high chance of seeing some other antagonists spawning around, however they're not the same as the previous ones, so there's no need to feel like you're just going through the same stuff all over again.
He married an LA girl and brought her to a small town. Sir your truly living a John cougar mellencamp lyric

I HAVE A PLAN...WE JUST NEED MORE MONEY
“Theres a train...”
"What's with the doubting? You just gotta have faith. I have a plan."
Rob literally is a real life John Marston as in he is a family man by heart! ❤️
Look at 3:31
He walks like John Marston in the 2nd game, it's just perfect.
Abigail Roberts: "I always was a good thief"
Arthur Morgan: "That you was..."
@Noah Not yet, not until the last mission.
**sniffles**
The hell's wrong with that woman? Always yelling at me to get to work when she knows I got *lumbago*
@@hestolemyfookinwig1577 *GET UP*
I got to meet Rob at SacAnime 2019. One of the nicest guys I've ever met
God bless this man he is truly Rip Van Winkle.
This man is like the modern day version of John Marston. He does everything for his family and is a humble, down-to-earth man.
Well worfed exept hes not a tired of killing gunfighter/former outlaw
But he's tired of life at Los Angeles which isn't much different if you think about it.
If you close your eyes, you can only hear John Marston
awesome
Philip Xander Santos Lol... I did that too! it was awesome!
RDR2 went into development in 2010, this was filmed in 2013. He’d already known and more than likely been in the recording studio for RDR2 a year or two at this point.
Imagine having to keep it a secret for so long
His voice is unique, it’s perfect for voice acting.
"I really miss working with rockstar" 6 days my brother
Holy shit man the excitement is only getting bigger
Hasn't he by now already worked with them?
Culture Punks yeah he has but what I meant was it was 6 days until his next project would come out. One more day.
Gotcha
If you close your eyes, it's like you are listening to John telling the story of RDR... very emotional and the best game ever made... RDR beats GTA V to it's knees and beyond and GTA V it's very good game just RDR is just soo much better
+Jerri . pogacnik l second that notion..
