Lets be real for a min, the psyker dude is a champion in his own right. Dude settled into a casket, knowing its a one-way trip, then wholeheartedly opened hus soul to a greater daemon, seeing the warp in all its horror, and then stood on business. It wasnt a long run, but he didnt back down
Well he was a astropath..He was going to kill everything there that's why in beginning it said that's the morality rate was absolute. It was a suicide mission by all.
To be fair this is what every character that isn’t a super human Demi god does on a daily based in 40k like the guard or the people on the lower levels of a hive city
Yeah, I do think the guy that made the bubble for themSo they could do their job was integral to getting s*** done. Also, the destiny nerd in me. That guy was probably a Titan, turned warlock. Or a warlock turned Titan and he was a bubble Titan an ARC BUBBLE 🫧 Titan. NO WAIT my bad StormCaller Bubble
Well... it's like 20 minutes with minimal dialogue and no long term commitment...i think the creators had pretty much full control with it .. But yet. They did in fact not drop the ball.
THIS is how a WH40K movie should be produced. Forget live action. Do CGI over live action or something. This secret level episode was epic. PACman was crazy weird
I'd love to see a continuation of this episode, or a dreadnaught/imperial knight episode since the Armored core one was awesome.. I can tell Secret level can do mechs well
Secret Level did a fantastic job of "show, don't tell". It's still mind-blowing to me that it's taken so long for a show like this to be made. It's such a goldmine.
There are 3 Bladeguard Veterans, a psyker, and Titus. Titus was especially assigned this mission considering his unique context. The context being the content of Warhammer Space Marine 2.
He did it to protect titus. He knows titus is fearless and it will be his downfall. The casket is a metaphor for a anchor..its meant to hold titus back and keep him safe.
To me this made so much sense that they sent an elite team down to fight. They didn’t need to hype up the guardsmen by saying they were fighting in the emperors name. They didn’t need to rally to a cause and instead all you get is silent determination to finish their mission. It really emphasize to me that they were elite warriors sent to kill.
A lot of Warhammer media is great at showing emotion with helmets, using the environment, silence and specific glances to convey meaning and it works so damn well most of the time
Agreed on every point, especially the look. I loved the look. For me it was "You may be a Lt but this is your responsibility. Look after it, rookie" (although I would point out that Titus isn't a blade guard)
Also he knew there was a astropath in the casket and they all were going to die once it was opened anyways. He was thinking the whole time how to get titus out and keep him alive.
Id love a warhammer series thats just this, random battles that require no explanation. Thats what warhammer is, everyone is fighting everyone else, thats all it needs to be
The producers of the halo tv series could really learn a lot from this episode. Actions speak louder than words. And You dont need facial features visable to convey emotion.
Yeah but they also missed a perfect opportunity for a classic space marine line. At the end when the sergeant tells Titus "we did our duty" or something like that, Titus should of shot back "only in death does duty end" I was so disappointed when he didn't lol. Typical blue boy dropping the ball lol
Yeah death was fully expected due to the ordinance incoming therefore - their duty was done. I see your point and maybe Titus’ daddy did roll over and accept it too easily, then again he had just been impaled on 5 foot long dagger 🤷🏻♂️
Bladeguard are above average but nowhere near the most powerful troops the Imperium has to offer. Just ask Valoris what his opinion would be of your statement lol
Eh, games and television is different media. Plus, there are books, video games, and now it's coming to television. So naturally, you're going to need a story which requires dialogue. I do appreciate that they just allowed the audience to take in the violence if such a universe. And that they didn't exposition dump on us. But at some point, the whole bashing against each other with no dialogue gets boring after a short while. ( Im not saying the episode sucked by the way. Just saying that if you're planning to make a story, you're going to need dialogue at some point.)
@@aldpresents You clearly stated "The most powerful in the imperium's army" if you are going to make warhammer vids atleast get your facts right. Compared to Custodes or Greyknights or even any space marine in terminator armour ,blade guard aint shit.
It was literally so good i hoped Amazon would just do this and not live action. Im sorry but you cannot pull off 40k with practical effects...Fallout yes...warhammer no.
Well, based on all the reactions of the episode, I can tell you why that is . People are stupidly stupid because not one reaction chanel could understand the jump scene and that it was a fucking slope ....
In the lore space marine couldn't jump because of their heavy armor but u see titus jumping 5 meters in the air with no care, he is on a different level
That's completely fair. When it comes to Warhammer I prefer action over story but I can totally understand the want for more story in a short like this.
The most powerful in the imperium army? Are you dumb? Its not that you are close...you are so far off with this dumb line that i am legit shaking my head why on earth you would say this nonsense! Just wow.

I still can't believe Amazon didn't fuck this up
We live in the best timeline
You have Syama Pederson to thank for that
The world is healing
they will someday

CGI is definitely the way to go it would be hard to show the full scale of the space marines in live action
Yeah it's going to look cheap with practical effects. This was perfect.
I'd love to see a continuation of this episode, or a dreadnaught/imperial knight episode since the Armored core one was awesome.. I can tell Secret level can do mechs well
He sensed the plot armor was strong with him and thus gave him the casket ⚰️
Didnt titus drop the casket to run in, and he was giving it back to him like “dont abandon your duty to revel in combat”
This was about 4 guys who wanted to go sledding, but kept being prevented by a bunch of ruffians on bikes.
Secret Level did a fantastic job of "show, don't tell". It's still mind-blowing to me that it's taken so long for a show like this to be made. It's such a goldmine.
Yes, i feel its a secound Astartes Short movie but with Titus, i love it, is the Guy from Astartes now in this GW Projekt?
@@patrickkaleja9581 yes, he's listed in the credits as one of the layout artists
@@TinyTank4Live awesome 👍
The best cinematic short I've seen in a long long time.

Sound design was also amazing as well as the action. Scene where they fighting the guy with blue blood is one of the craziest fights scenes
Yeah the bioluminescent blood is awesome
He did it to protect titus. He knows titus is fearless and it will be his downfall. The casket is a metaphor for a anchor..its meant to hold titus back and keep him safe.
I knew nothing about warhammer until I watched this, I absolutely loved it and did not want it end.
Welcome to the fold, brother..
We need more one shot stories like this and Love, Death, Robots
Whoever runs secret level needs to make a fully animated warhammer show
Plus the way they did it makes so much sense because of what they are tasked to do and since they aren’t apart of a traditional chapter right now
imagine a whole tv show of warhammer with this quality of story every episode
I agree that look said it all.
"Take your duty, and what the fuck did you think you were doing"
First look: "You are to carry from this point"
Second look: "understood, carrying & on standby for further orders"
3 bladeguard veterans and 1 lieutenant of the second company of the ultramarines 🤓☝️
Sorry good point can't give Titus an unnecessary promotion 🤣
This is correct 🤓
Booooo nerrrrrrrddd
The codex astartes does support this action 🤓
@@aldpresentsthat is confusing. I would have thought that a Lieutenant would be a higher rank than a sergeant

Oldest rule of film making. Show, don't tell.
It’s better than we think even more because Syama Pedersen helped create it, Syama for those unaware is the fan creator of Astartes RUclips series.
A lot of Warhammer media is great at showing emotion with helmets, using the environment, silence and specific glances to convey meaning and it works so damn well most of the time
Don't need it in live action. Just keep this and make it 10 hours long.
100% agree
Agreed on every point, especially the look. I loved the look. For me it was "You may be a Lt but this is your responsibility. Look after it, rookie" (although I would point out that Titus isn't a blade guard)
That glance, that look says "BOY!". Metataurus is practically Titus adoptive father into the Astartes program.
Very true anything Titus does wrong is a reflection on Metaurus
Still am impressed and happy with the depiction of their speed in the armour
They aren’t hindered in it in any way which is the point
Also he knew there was a astropath in the casket and they all were going to die once it was opened anyways. He was thinking the whole time how to get titus out and keep him alive.
Nice, I like your take:)
It also could be just like astartes shorts where they could be talking but since they have helmets on we don't hear any of it
According to the lore the space marines were talking to each other, but it was using vox channels that were put into their suits of power armor.
Even in books, warhammer as a whole excels at Less is More concept or narrativization. And this episode of secret level nailed that with the dialogs.
One of the first things to get me into Warhammer. I now know 1% of the lore
Thank samya pederson, he established this with project astartes
The fight scene against the cultists is the second time in history where we see the true power of space marines
The first was astartes
Well it’s 3 blade guard veterans and 1 lieutenant Titus
Actually that look is doubth in Titus... Because he thinks his total lack of fear is chaos taint
Id love a warhammer series thats just this, random battles that require no explanation. Thats what warhammer is, everyone is fighting everyone else, thats all it needs to be
Perhaps because it was done by the Astartes guy...someone with actual talent. Unlike the standard stock of GW employees.
100% agree
I just hope that the Amazon show is like this too
War and fighting and hammers.
Went so hard
Smash bad guys hammer done
I don't understand what Titus set up and then blows up?
I’m new to WH, shout to the BT cause you shit talking with a just a matter of crusading distance, but this was F BAD ASS!!!!

relax…
Eh, not the worst thing to not end on a cliche
I always to it to mean exactly that. "We did our duty, now we can die in peace."
Watched the video we get a full breakdown 40k secret level
TITUS, TITUS, TITUS
Barely a man, not quite a myth but definitely a legend
Its SOOOOOOO goooood
It great. More this.
A return to Warhammer before it's popularity started the lunacy.
Watch it every weekend🥸
Warhammer...almost perfect...needs no explination, true
We have the EXACT SAME favorite part of this episode
It is perfect
I agree completely
Better than i think? It was already a 10 outta 10 cant get better than that
This one goes to 11 🤣
Actually, the best way to tell is when your wife stops what she's doing to watch the episode. Tier one numbers about don't speak normally in CQC.
Anyone who calls the phone a vox is bound to be in hell
What does this mean
these are all literally just ads
This short is like an essay where you need to write 1000 words and you can only think of 12.
“They don’t need much dialog” well I mean considering their vox was down I’d say it would be difficult to yell through power armour to eachother….
Only comms to the ship were down. Squad vox would certainly be working since they are right next to each other.
Nerd.

Project Astartes and Secret Level, far far better media than that garbage movie GW pushed back in 2010
Hopefully it's the start of a new era
Most of the stuff on WH+ has been pretty good. Angels of Death particularly. My main complaint is not enough.
