Wow, wow, WOW!!! Those are some absolutely stunning finds! I love how nature can turn up such beautiful treasures after a storm! My aunt is in Nova Scotia right now and I'm wishing I had been a stowaway! Thank you Jason, Chase, Nolan & Travis for another great video and for sharing your finds with us! Have a great weekend!!
Amazing rocks - the slide show in the end was great! The little one at 4:31 was super beautiful, and the porcelain agates, too - that last one was a stunner! 😍😍😍
Wow! That last Scotch-egg agate is amazing. Your kids have the coolest dad…they will remember these days all their lives and likely do the same for any children they may have. Priceless.
The chalcedony nodule at about 17:23 was outer space! The seam opal at 17:13 was spectacular. Finally the porcelain agate at 18:56 was amazing. Have you sold them? Dad to Dad (my boys are 27 and 33): your three will remember all their life all the rockhounding you have done together. Good for you!
Those are some awesome agates and jaspers. The waves sure turned over some beautiful finds, it's so hard to pick a favorite. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
Wow, I guess you could say this is a situation where life's a beach; and a mighty fine one at that! You guys walked out of there with a pailful of finds of the day (hopefully some of those might be available for purchase). Thanks for making me wish I was on vacation... on a NS beach! ;-)
Fantastic finds as always. The essence of the ocean in the video was peaceful. The sound of the water and foam against the rocks. I could smell the salty air, feel that mist, and just felt like I was at the coast again. Good video :)
I'm from Montana in the US. Your agates are out of this world! The banding on some is really mind blowing. Those porcelain agates are extra special, love the one Noland found and the one you cut at the end. The cycat with agates, wow those fortifications are so beautiful. Really amazing finds and great video. By the way, your boys are way too cute. Love the smiles and Noland's funny joke. 👍✌😎
Thanks for watching from Montana! Montana is on my bucket list for sure (Yellowstone River). That porcelain agate at the end with the red in the middle is one of my favorite finds ever on this beach!
Wow! Just started watching your channel. 😃 I've been collecting gems for many years, and have been recently researching types. Have you been to Moose Island??? I urge you to make a weekend camping trip there one day. Multiply the finds on five islands provincial park beach by a million! We've gone by foot, during extreme tides, and the water is ankle deep. There is a preferred way to cross to avoid muck to your knees😉
I was there years ago before my kids were born. I remember finding some nice zeolite specimens there. We went by boat. I wouldn't go there with the boys unless it was by boat.
@@RockhoundingLife , makes sense for sure. It's alot of weight especially water. This year we found stillbite, agates, fire agates, amethyst, jade, some sort or interesting white jade with jasper lines? Yellow jasper, red jasper, .... a huge list of different types just on a weekend🥰
Nolan noticed the eagle and actually got much closer to it (20ft) before he actually noticed it. It freaked him out a little once he got an appreciation for how big it was. They don't have much fear of anything. Apex predators.
@@RockhoundingLife they are amazing creatures. The bald eagle is our state bird. Every June at a certain spot every year there is a gathering of up to 50 + of them and people come from all over the world to film and witness it. It is such an amazing sight. Look up eagles gathering in Seabeck Washington... Never mind... Found it... Check this out! I counted 52 one year... This video shows this amazing event ruclips.net/video/PhYu6Xa6M_M/видео.html
@@MarlainaAtkins We have the exact same thing here!! There is a spot that all the bald eagles go here in a place called Sheffield Mills NS. Is it a mating thing I wonder? ruclips.net/video/96P9LGaqq-o/видео.html
Gonna head that way soon. I'm in Brookfield outside of Truro. I've been exploring the moose river area for river gold with some luck. The kids would love it where we go. Great finds and keep the great videos coming.
Super rocks! Great channel. I've been agate hunting around Lake Superior, but this summer planning to go around Bay of Fundy. Any resources you could recommend?
They are 12, 11 & 8 The two oldest Nolan & Chase are always itching to go every chance we get. My youngest Travis doesn't come all the time. He has other interests that take priority.
It's local terminology. Its essentially a plume agate with bits of opal included. People call it that because the color play of common opal white and the navy blue chalcedony reminds people of the old porcelain dishes from back in the day.
I have been watching these video`s since last night, a fellow Nova Scotian here I was always interested in the agates and sea maggots growing up i would stop and pick up the "Special Rocks" along the way, now I do it with my son from time to time when we go to the beaches always looking down the that one that looks just right . I`m not to sure where to go hounding for the jaspers in my area in Cape Breton do you have any leads .My youngest son keeps looking over at the tv his name is also nolan lol
Best place if you aren't sure where to look is the beach. Usually things make there way there eventually, even if there isn't any host rock near by. I'm not all that familiar with Cape Breton rockhounding spots but my buddy Terry is and I'll ask him.
The jasper opal agate you cut with the orange center. How do you think that formed? Please don’t tell me a gas pocket. The rock is completely differentiated. Can you imagine something glass like getting that hard and solid by slow cold infusion into a vug. That took heat to create. The heat equal to that of a forge or kiln or greater.
@@RockhoundingLife according to the books. But it makes no sense to me. Agree to disagree. Those were under no pressure, in fact quite the opposite. Rock formation is dictated by heat, velocity, conditions surrounding the rock, their neighbors, and who they run into or across, collisions, cooling too fast, how deep the material was blown out from into free space, crystal habit, folding habit, and how it landed. Prove me wrong (:
@@doctorofart Some rocks can't form without pressure. It's probably the most important variable. That and temp. When it comes to agates forming inside a basalt pocket it's very important. Concentric banding in an agate is achieved from the nodule being under immense pressure, so much so that gravity is defied. If no pressure then you see waterline banding where the fluid settled with gravity. There is a great video on RUclips explaining this concept that I think you would benefit from. Thanks! Nolan is into "dad jokes" lately. This one wasn't bad
So Elsa made it all the way up from me (near Tampa) to you! Wish it had done for shelling here what it did for rockhounding there! Great finds!
Yep...we almost always get the same storms you do!!
The boys are developing a good eye for the stones ,can’t wait to get out again with the family

While I agree the one you chose for find of the day after the surprise inside but the seam agate at 17:15 made me stop the slide show to admire it! 🤩
