    Long time viewer, first time commenter. Love the channel - really enjoy the content and, yes, I do prefer the long-form videos. It honestly bugs me that the channel hasn’t grown more rapidly, so I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to say thank you. I appreciate what you’re doing and I’ll be along for the ride as the channel continues to grow.

      Thanks, that means a lot to me! Since this is an old channel (13 years now, YT just doesn't push the channel too hard). I could probably start over with a new one and get to this point and beyond faster...however sad that may be.
      That said, I've already recorded stuff for the promised Snap-On at 10k and have just been accumulating more real world seat time with those items. The Mac 7.5k vids had been waiting and I figured now was as good a time as any to make them live! Also, thanks for joining team long form, haha! Have a good one...hopefully you'll continue to enjoy the channel!

    I found a 4 piece anti vibe hammer set in green still in package on eBay shipped to me for $160 I love them so far. Great haul

    Great haul! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ And I totally agree about blue. It's also my preferred color but I also still like color variety to keep things fresh. You might like Snap-on's metallic blue, AKA 'Power Blue'. It's darker than Cornwell blue, but it's nice.
    I have the PB15CR and specifically got it for the handle as opposed to Mayhew's standard handle. So in this case, it's not just paying an upcharge for truck branding, but for the Mac specific handle.

      Nice, glad you are on the blue team as well! I don't know if Mac has ever done anything in blue to be honest. Would be nice if they kept expanding the color offerings and then moved in new colors as well. Yeah, I do like the Power Blue...Pearl looks good too. The stock Mayhew grip is by no means terrible, but like you said, I do prefer the Mac Grip.

      @@lonestarmopars Yep, 'Team Blue' for the win!👍 lol. I also agree that MAC kinda missed the boat by not extending the grip portion. Hopefully future iterations will address that - and if a potential warranty is in order, perhaps we can get the improvement as a side benefit. ;) But this current grip/handle is still better than their previous one that tended to collect dirt. Yeah, S-O Pearl Blue is very nice - has a satin vibe to it. Matco started adding more colors, but Mac seems to be stuck more on the classic Red, Green, Orange options. Bottom line is the tool quality, so color choices are just a nice extra option when available to choose from. Thanks again for the great haul! :)

    Great video I have matco pry bars, Milwaukee, couple snap on and 1 Cornwell. Those look nice

      @lonestarmopars  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! The Matco were tempting due to the color selection, but with the bundle I went this route. I may wind up with another 17"-ish pry bar and could bring in one of those to check out the handle. Mayhew makes both Mac and Matco so the bar quality should be great. Maybe some day I'll get a Snap-On to test...Cornwells, from what I hear, are very good.

    Im just here for the color comparisons. I found the green vs green segment quite helpful

    • @lonestarmopars
      @lonestarmopars  7 месяцев назад

      Glad that was helpful. I always try to time stamp that stuff just in case. Mac tends to have fewer showcase videos and then anything new is a total crapshoot to find. I was kind of torn going orange, or green...they are both kind of lighter shades.

    The Estwing hammers with the shock reduction grip, not the fiberglass handles, are my favorite hammers. The antivibes are still great but the Estwing feels better to me when you're beating on steel haha.

      I've near had one of their drilling hammers with the shock reduction...That is what I wanted, but not what was in stock when I picked the fiberglass one up. I may have to add it via 2 or 4 lb., lol.

    I can't blame you for getting the Mac brand hammers, but I wonder if they are similar or same as the Stanley. I remember a friend had a similar anti-vibe handle on a Stanley claw hammer about 20 years ago. $42 Stanley 1-56-001 3# Hammer. I couldn't find a similar 4# one from Stanley/Proto currently. I think you mentioned the Proto ball pein hammers which also have an even more similar handle to the Mac.

    • @lonestarmopars
      @lonestarmopars  7 месяцев назад

      The Proto and the Mac are imo 100% the same, minus branding and color options on the Mac iteration. I'm not real sure why the drilling hammer isn't offered via Proto. I had seen the Stanley and it does look like it would also be identical minus finish out, but I also want to say I'd seen China on it, or some of the Stanley Antivibe. I kind of want to try an Antivibe claw hammer, and that would have to be done thru Stanley. The kicker on Stanley is that you can get Estwing, Made in the USA, for a good bit less. Regardless of COO, all the ones I've swung have been pretty good.

    Enjoyable vid. I have been satisfied for a long time with the Mayhews; I never noticed the handle thing, but I'll be paying attention now, lol. I recently picked up the EZ Red magnetic Pry Bar holder and it fits the Mayhews perfectly. It holds well. maybe that would be something to hold that bar on the outside since that long handle hits the lid.
    On the Drilling hammer, I really don't use the one I have for extended sessions. I doubt I'd feel the benefit. I use a Real Steel 3 Lb Graphite handle / Rubber grip. which is comfortable for my uses and was quite affordable.

      Glad you enjoyed. I had used the Dominators quite awhile, but then when under the truck I had that issue and then the next week (hot and humid) I noticed that being an issue too. It is a minor complaint and outside of sweat, or weird positions where you are truly limited, I have zero issues. The Dominators can't be beat for the quality to price ratio. I do like the Mac handles better, but that is entirely subjective. Some might prefer the Dominator and others might lean towards Snap-On, or a hard handle etc. Since this video, I have the Macs at work and have used them a lot. No complaints on my end!
      I actually want to do just that with the bigger 2 pry bars. I keep waiting for Mac to carry them or EZ Red to expand the color options. Matco has them for $25ish, but I'd prefer not to buy from them.
      Were you able to run a single holder, or did you need (2) per on the bigger pry bars?
      Yeah, if you are just stamping, or punching something out, I'd avoid the investment...especially when the Estwing is fantastic and more affordable. Reshaping that exhaust kit was a rare continuous use circumstance.

      I only needed a single holder, which secured them well, but they are easy to remove too. @@lonestarmopars

    Mac is so weird with the ordering, half their stuff you need to call to know what the price is, I imagine they get tons of calls just inquiring about prices, so archaic

    My experience with the Mac website in general is that it sucks. Not user friendly at all. I think they do this to get us on the truck, assuming there is a truck in your area to get on. Oh, and try and find out how to get hold of the most local Mac truck via the website. Good luck with that too.

    • @lonestarmopars
      @lonestarmopars  7 месяцев назад +1

      It does leave a lot to be desired...a lot of times you've got to have the PN because you will spend an eternity attempting to find the item with the reductive searching just to come up empty. There is ZERO reason that they couldn't have the flyer deals live on the site. If they were "dealer only" I would be fine with it, BUT the fact you can get it...if you call...is insane to me. The real knee slapper is they sometimes have online sales and those go thru with no extra hoops to jump thru. It would be a very easy fix and I'm confident it would generate much more revenue, despite the lower price.

    • @guyconnell2250
      @guyconnell2250 7 месяцев назад

      @lonestarmopars agree. They would sell a lot more tools if they updated their website in multiple ways and streamlined online sales. Which is why I have concluded that the reason they don't do all that is they want us getting on trucks. Which would be fine if there was a truck to get on. At the very least they should make it a very simple process to find out if there is a truck near you and how to contact the owner.
