So I FINALLY just bought myself a pizzelle iron. Looking through recipes online (unfortunately I never got my grandma’s recipe 😢) and I noticed some use butter, some use oil, some use anise seed… my head was spinning. I should have just come here first! Once I heard that crunch I said, ok, oil it is! I’m like you, I don’t want a soft, limp pizzelle! Thanks so much Kenny! Can’t wait to give this a try this weekend!
@@livelaughandcookitalian i just had to jump on here to tell you i just finished my first ever batch of pizzelle and i could not be happier! Thank you so much for your recipe and clear instructions. These came out perfectly, just like my grandma used to make! 🥰 I feel like a kid on Christmas. ❤️
Thank you! These are my son’s favorite. He now has Crohn’s disease and can’t eat them. I’ve been making many thing gluten free but I never thought of doing Pizzelles. I’m excited. Thanks. ❤
You are delightful! I just bought a pizzelle maker. Italian celiac in Toronto craving pizzelles and cannolis bigtime . Excited to give it a try. Thanks for your entertaining and informative video!
Hi Denise ...I’m happy to hear you enjoyed my video ...these GF Pizzelle are off the hook delicious and I have a bunch of other GF recipe videos you might like ...hope all is well
Your gluten-free recipe is the best. My daughter has a problem with large amounts of gluten so we eliminate it where we can. We're doing the 7 fishes and managed to make everything gluten free. Thanks to you, her favorite cookie is also.
There are so many different brands out there ...I would definitely not buy a plastic one .. buy a metal , sturdy one ...the plates flip over in mine to make waffles which is a nice feature ..I believe mine is a Realm but I will check when I get home and let you know ... a good one usually runs between $ 50 and $ 70
Looks great, Kenny. Do you ever sprinkle with powdered sugar? My Mom and Nana used to, so I do too. These and biscotti are my favorite Christmas cookies.
We usually set up a pizzelle buffet with powdered sugar, melted chocolate, whip cream, nuts, Jimmys, chocolate chips, ice cream, etc and let everyone go wild ! 😁
i’m using my mothers iron that she got for her wedding over 50 years ago … unfortunately they do not make them like that anymore … I have a reeme … that is all metal and works pretty well but not like my moms
I would fill them as close to the time you’re going to serve them as possible and definitely not more than an hour before and also I would leave the shells out either in a Tupperware or wrapped in saran wrap until you’re ready to fill them
I was wondering how to pronounce this, thank you! I want to eat some now! I have celiac too and I have reaction to rice. Do you think if I used a non-rice flour, it would work as well?
Can't wait to try this with lemon extract! I have 2 pizzelle irons! One is probably 50 years old and the newer one makes 4 small cookies. I've thought about making canoli shells out of them! Cool! New subscriber here! Your mom sounds like a hoot!
Hi Sicilian Shorty , very nice to meet you ! Glad you enjoyed my Pizzelle video ! They have definitely been a Favorite of ours for generations. The cannoli shell are definitely a neat trick as well , the kids love them ... Thanks for subscribing I think you will enjoy my other videos and recipes as well , especially the ones I filmed with my mother . Hope you have a wonderful Christmas ! Kenny
No , she has never had any issues .. but two things that we always do when we’re done using the iron we always wipe it down thoroughly with a damn cloth no soap and when we make them, we always make hers first before the regular ones so we’re starting off with a clean iron
Lol!!! No way...... a beaver’s arse????? Thank God I don’t use THAT. Love that you add some almond flavor..... my fave! Pizzelle Cannoli!!! Oh man!!!!!!

this is a video to show you how to make them and the recipe , not a cross contamination video … please take caution when making your own gluten-free recipes and use your own non cross contamination methods
@@livelaughandcookitalian most people don't think about cross-contamination when it comes to having celiacs, they think just because you (someone)make a gluten free item but uses something that had gluten in it would be ok but it's not, that all I meant by it

Will the pizelle cannoli become soft if I fill it 5 hours in advance? Should I put it in the fridge or on the counters.
I would fill them as close to the time you’re going to serve them as possible and definitely not more than an hour before and also I would leave the shells out either in a Tupperware or wrapped in saran wrap until you’re ready to fill them
I have the same pizzelle iron! Love this stuff!!!
Hi Sean , glad you enjoyed it ! ..The old ones are definitely the best , just don’t make them like that anymore ! Hope you have a happy new year !
I was wondering how to pronounce this, thank you! I want to eat some now! I have celiac too and I have reaction to rice. Do you think if I used a non-rice flour, it would work as well?
The Pronunciation is pizz- el-ly and I think I’d you find a good GF mixed flour without rice it should be fine
Can't wait to try this with lemon extract!

Any chance of using Bob's red mill egg replacer? I cannot eat eggs because of an allergy. 😢
Hi Olive , I’ve never tried the egg replacer but I would give it a try ...I think it will work
@@livelaughandcookitalian I'll give it a try and let you know. 💕 I love your accent.
Where to buy that apron?!
How should they be stored? And is there an expiery on them?
We usually just put them on a platter and cover with Tin foil .... they don’t last to long in my house though 😁

Mine didn’t come out like yours! What a frustrating mess! I think my iron is not hot enough…
i was just going to ask what type of iron you are using ?
So funny now I've heard them pronounced 3 ways!
Now you heard the Boston way 😁

Little Italy , Boston 😊
